Yes, they did.......and you would have noticed that if you had read the post I was responding to........which was quoted right above what I wrote.......much like this your post right above this. It's not that complicated. But I have a group of folks who like to follow my posts around and just respond to them out of context so I'm used to it.

Jersey reveal for Miami game. Yes, It's Halloween
BADOLBILZ replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
The name of the city didn't come from the animal "Buffalo". It is an anglo'd up version of the name it was given by the Frenchies...... "Beau Flo" (beautiful river). So, yes I guess I am apparently one of our more informed posters. Also a Buffalo can indeed be in the process of grazing and lift it's head up off the ground. 😉 -
Yes and he's also an example of a guy who had terrible measured ball speed at the combine and clearly throws a lot harder than that when he needs to in games. I would like to see the NFL put more emphasis on top ball speeds but the reality is that they don't because they probably aren't nearly as impressive as people think.

The Bills only had 2 wins against teams with winning records in all of 2017 so that's no place to plant your flag. It's about the style they were able to play early in the season knowing that they had a first line of defense. Cover 1 had excellent analysis on it. They were only 4-2 thru 6 weeks but they could also have easily been 6-0 with that defense. Two close losses. They weren't the same defense after the Dareus trade. Fact. Dareus was a really talented player and made a very significant impact in Jacksonville.....worst run defense to first run defense..........and they actually had a lead in the 4th quarter of the AFCCG against the Pats. He was tremendous in the playoffs. To imply that trading Dareus was the taking off point for the McDermott regime is laughable nonsense.......which is what I was replying to in this thread.

I considered that one........but it's too much action. -
I think it's illegal to say that word in Canada now.

Yep. The Bills have receivers that get open............what they don't have are receivers who can make a lot happen in traffic with the ball in their hands. So the system works great when Allen is on.........when he is not sharp and the team needs RAC yards.......the offense doesn't have much of that. A lot of fans are fixated on the Bills getting an explosive RB.......but throwing accurate and well timed passes to RB's is a glaring Allen weakness. He could definitely use another WR who can run away from people, though.

Just a reminder for those who want to remember the facts differently. 😉 https://www.cover1.net/the-impact-of-trading-dt-marcell-dareus/

If Allen can throw 5 mph harder in windy Mobile Alabama than he did in a still combine setting..........why do you assume that guys like Mahomes, Herbert or Eason could not? The fact remains.........in the same combine environment......his fastball wasn't "not even close" better.........it was thisclose.........in fact it was the same as little known Jacob Eason, a fact you conveniently neglected to even mention. And don't get me wrong.......I believe they all have instances where they throw harder than they might have in a combine setting..........I believe the video of Brady throwing 62mph too.........and that being the case it certainly wouldn't surprise me that the aforementioned QB's can all surpass 65mph........but if Allen was throwing that much harder than any and every other QB in the league do you not think NexGen stats wouldn't be feeding us that astonishing info to help upsell Allen?

Like I said, I've discussed flipping him for Beasley when he was losing his sh*t on social........Beas is from Texas and is on a cheaper contract next year so that might appeal to Houston.......and maybe throw in a late pick to sweeten it. But if you don't clear playing time I'm not sure where Cooks gets the snaps and I get the feeling that he would not be happy being a reserve and knowing he would be dumped into free agency with bad stats after the season. So you probably gotta' clear snaps for him to keep him happy.

Cooks was traded to Houston. That's what happens to Cooks..........he gets traded.........produces........gets traded again. Reminds me of this guy:

I picture SB XXV........white jersey, white pants. But the white over blue has definitely been unfortunate of late........was surprised to see them bring that out for the Titans game after just beating the Chiefs in white on white. -
Nah. It was the end of them possibly having an extended playoff run like Jacksonville did that season though. They were 4-2 and playing dominating defense when they dealt Dareus......they were 5-5 the rest of the way and experienced their worst 3 game defensive stretch in franchise history. Dareus went to Jax and the Jaguars run defense flipped from bottom of the league to the top........he put up 2 sacks and 4 TFL in their run to the AFCCG. He wasn't a long term fit for McDermott's culture but they don't make the playoffs in 2017 without his contributions early in that season. He was playing tremendous as the DT1T. I thought they might be interested in Cooks if things boiled over with Beasley and they had to make a move with him............but seems like Beas got his sh*t under control. We will see if he gets back to social media bickering with the world after the deadline though.

Or maybe they informed him he's on the block. If he's upset about Ingram being traded........that would surprise me........Ingram was probably thrilled.

Actually Cooks is apparently pretty sick of being traded. Said he wouldn't accept anymore trades last January. https://abcnews.go.com/Sports/houston-texans-brandin-cooks-accept-trades/story?id=75007339

This would be the Browns equivalent of the Bills grazer logo -
Trust me, I want to believe it. But it's year 4 and his inability to throw accurate/timely passes with air under them still remains. They win the Steelers game if he could. They are adapting to the weakness by asking him to just under throw those passes........but that's working around a weakness, not fixing it. What I see is a great QB with a glaring, but probably/eventually correctable, weakness. He's definitely in the conversation with the greatest physical talents ever, IMO. But it's not cut and dried. I've said it before.......the hope is that he fixes that problem while he still has all of the other capabilities. THAT will be peak Josh Allen and I can't wait to see it.

1) I wouldn't say "it ain't even close". The longest pass "ever" measured in a game was Patrick Mahomes 68 yards in the air. Mahomes also threw 60 mph at the combine so they were "close". I have always thought Allen had the stronger arm but it's contest worthy. Justin Herbert also threw 60 mph and Jacob Eason tied Allen's record at 62 mph. There are some strong arms in the NFL today. 2) As for stories, Denver used to set their jugs machines at 80mph to simulate Elway's throws. Stories be stories. 3) JA's baseball 91 mph never impressed me. All that told me is that baseball wasn't his sport. The Yankees wouldn't draft him as a catcher with that mph. He's not a real loose athlete so not sure his kind of power translates well to baseball. His first pitch at the Jays game this year was a sad disappointment.......despite reportedly putting in quite a bit of practice. And as hard as Chappy once threw.......Nolan Ryan is the standard. I tend to believe he'd hit that reported 108 mph on a modern gun. The bigger baseball issue with Josh is that he lacks that "shortstop type" of arm talent/athleticism that Russ Wilson and Patrick Mahomes and Kyler Murray display. 4) I don't disagree about him being a unique beast of a QB. Bad things can happen.......but he's built to last.......much like John Elway and that allowed Elway to be winning SB's when his class of 83' cohorts were busted up and retired. I strongly disagree that the ability to alter how you throw the ball isn't part of the "arm talent" equation. It most definitely is.

Of course, if you are a 4th year NFL starting QB and can't easily throw simple passes with touch........you have a persistent lack of coordination between your brain and your arm. That's a physical deficiency. If you've ever played sports or coached youth sports or can even remember when you played them, there are always kids with better natural hand eye coordination and spatial awareness. They are things that can be improved........but so can ALL of the other things on your list, with the exception of skeletal frame. Allen still struggles to throw passes that require "touch". Not just screens. If he has to put air under a deep ball it could easily end up overthrown by 30 feet whether he has any pressure on him or not. His arm strength is amazing so he can circumvent some of that by throwing fastballs a great distance..........but he certainly doesn't have the assortment of speeds and trajectories at his disposal that guys like Brady, Rodgers, Mahomes, Wilson and Herbert do. Watch the games. It's gotten to the point with Allen where they just don't attempt a number of fairly common throws. And, IMO, if you can't make all of the common throws you probably aren't the most physically gifted QB of all time. But he is definitely on the list of most blessed/gifted and the assortment of natural "gifts" that he does have promises to buy him time to improve as much as possible in the areas where he isn't as "gifted".
