  1. Earlier this morning, I did google images searches for "Ravens 49ers 2019" and "Ravens Patriots 2019." In both of those games, Ravens were wearing black. I then expanded my search to other 2019 Ravens matchups and saw no identifiable trend, as far as uniform color vs. strength of opponent. Seeing how they're on the road against a 9-3 Buffalo team, I'd think if they purposely chose to wear black vs. stronger opponents, they'd have done it here. I don't know when, or how, uniform decisions are made, i.e. - which team gets to choose first.
  2. But that's my point. I'm saying that he wasn't suspended for making a racist comment. He was suspended for doing something stupid. Think of it as "conduct detrimental to the team," or something like that. It doesn't have to be illegal or offensive. It just has to be something that puts the organization at risk.
  3. I don't think that term means what you think it means - and if it does and you're still using it, well ... that's too bad. I don't think any rational person is trying to say the this comment about skin tone was a racist comment. I think most rational people will agree that it was not meant to be offensive or demeaning in any way, shape or form. I also don't think it's terribly difficult to understand why it simply not a good idea - as someone with a mic in front of him paid to speak to thousands of listeners - to "go there." In a position like his, he'd be wise to stay away from politics, race, color and/or sexual orientation. Even if a comment is harmless, if it falls into one of those categories, it's just inviting some radical idiot to make life miserable for the organization. He should have known better and that's why he was suspended. That's all it boils down to.
  4. Many years ago (~2003) I ordered a new PC from Gateway. In an odd "this guy knows me, but I don't know him," moment, I was at work, outside smoking a butt. UPS guy comes up to me (I had no idea who he was) and says, "Hey, Gug ... I just delivered a big package from Gateway to your house. I figured it was some expensive computer, so I put it in your shed for you." I thought that was pretty cool.
  5. He usually throws his white clothes away for some reason.
  6. This is over the top cliché. You've got more ***** than a barnyard.
  7. I'll try this another way. Doing well in preseason doesn't mean a goddamn thing; nor does beating out Paxton Lynch. Lastly, one of the most important TOOLS to being a successful starting QB in the NFL is intelligence. He's not even close to having all the necessary tools.
  8. I already showed you. He's taken one NFL snap. One. Ever. He's never made them most of any opportunity. Literally, NEVER. Why now? Because his last name is Kelly? Blah. His chances ran out and he has no business clogging up a spot just because Uncle Jim asked for a favor. I'm glad to hear he's clean and I hope he stays that way. He still doesn't belong in the NFL in any capacity.
  9. Remember how awesome Trent Edwards was in preseason games? Stop it. He's been kicked off of teams in high school, college and the pros. The only thing he's proven is that he's not a team player.
  10. From what I've seen, he's not much of a lobber. He throws accurate darts to his large targets in the middle of the field - but not deep.
  11. https://nextgenstats.nfl.com/stats/passing#average-completed-yards Josh's completed air yards are 6.2 (9th). League leader is Stafford with 8.3. Jackson = 6.5.
  12. I wonder if Sean McDermott is looking for someone to simulate Lamar Jackson in practice this week.
  13. Based on what? Of all the QBs you listed, only Trubisky has a full season under his belt. And every one of those QBs has a better resume than this .... The only news he generates is off-field bad news. His NFL stats consist of a kneel down. The only reasons that he's still being followed by the media are a) he's a trainwreck waiting to happen and b) he's Jim Kelly's nephew. So far, the only thing he's proven is that he's a pretty below-average human being.
  14. The proper term is Blowrista. Get it right.
  15. After Josh's first 300 yard game, I wonder if there will be a 400 yard game crusade to follow.
  16. I already checked my local listings and we (Albany area) are getting the Bills/Ravens over the Jets/Dolphins. This is the 2nd week in a row we're being televised over the Jets. That is FAR from the norm and I'll take it because it saves me money (I hit the bar when they're not on the local affiliate). This was the last week in question for the remainder of the season. Woo hoo! @Albany,n.y.
  17. In 2008, I bought a Lionel O-Gauge Union Pacific train set for my son. We set it up around the Christmas tree most years. I'd love to expand the track setup, but those FasTrack pieces are kind of pricey. Someday.
  18. Hmmmm .... I have a list of people I'd invite to eat that dinner.
  19. He actually is a pocket passer. He makes quick decisions and he's been accurate. The important factor is that it's almost exclusively over the middle of the field. If they can take that first read away, which WILL be over the middle, then we'll win this game. We don't need to hurt him. We just need to make him pass outside the tackles. Mistakes will be made and it will keep him from getting into any kind of rhythm. My gut tells me that McDermott will take SF's blueprint, improve upon it and give Jackson fits. Go Bills!
