Happy 80th Birthday to Richard Starkey, AKA ...
Gugny replied to WhoTom's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I respectfully disagree with your Stewart Copeland sentiment. I think he'd have made it, even without Sting/the Police. I do agree that Sting was gonna be a superstar, no matter what. But Sting's vision could not have come to fruition without Copeland's drumming abilities. Everything about the Police was unique (guitar, bass, drums). It's why - to me - they really are their own genre. No band has ever even tried to mimic them. But their impact was/is enormous and it's easy to hear which musicians/bands were influenced by them. Like the Beatles (and Hendrix), the Police made an everlasting mark in a very short period of time (1978-1983). Very impressive. As for the original topic, yes ... Ringo was super lucky, LOL. A great drummer (or singer, or musician) he has never been. But the Beatles didn't need a great drummer, so it all worked out. HFBD, Ringo! -
Should the NFL allow more players this year?

I'm not worked up at all. I'm also not shut in. I guess part of "living and enjoying life," for me is knowing I'm doing my part as far as not killing other people goes. And no ... no, you're not "doing fine," in Georgia. Be well. -
Charlie Daniels passes away at the age of 83

Was that your first #metoo moment? -
A cart has to be pretty bad for me to take it back and get another one. I usually go with whichever cart I pick first. Sometimes I get the perfect cart (usually Walmart). My son laughs at how excited I get when I get a cart with perfect alignment AND smooth wheels. No shake, rattle and roll ... just roll, baby.

When I was out to sea whilst in the Navy, Charlie Daniels played a concert aboard the aircraft carrier in our fleet. The ship I was on drew 5 names at random to be able to attend the show. I didn't make the cut. Never got to see him. RIP. -
The first thing I do when I get a cart is check the alignment.

NFL players are just as susceptible to this virus as anyone else. And they're not going to be practicing social distancing, mainly because it's impossible to do when it comes to playing a contact sport. If someone needs the NFL in order to make a unselfish/responsible decision, then that someone is a feeble-minded a-hole, IMO. This (forcing this season to happen) is just another example of money being more important than life. It's ***** football. It's a ***** game. -
It's been two years.

CA, GA, FL and TX ... four of the "Idiot States," have ten NFL teams between them. There should not be an NFL season. -
It's an udder disgrace.

Washington DC Needs a New Football Nickname: Help Them Out
Gugny replied to Nextmanup's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hogs is the perfect name. Obviously because of the famous O-line, but it's also a nice spin on the Beatles' (Harrison) "Piggies," which describes Washington, D.C., to a T. -
@Jauronimo shall overcome.

Great story from 5 or 6 years ago: My parents (now 80 and 75) were in a drug store parking lot getting ready to leave. The woman parked next to them left her cart in the parking lot and got into her car. Windows were down. My dad asked, "are you going to put your shopping cart away?" She responded with, "go ***** yourself." My dad then said, "Nice mouth! Do you kiss people with that?" She flipped him off and drove away.

I put oranges out about a month ago and have not seen one oriole (nor have I ever seen one in my yard). Zero hummingbirds this year, which has never happened. Had a couple juncos build a nest in one of my hanging flower baskets. They're finally gone and somehow the flower is not completely dead. Hoping my nuthatches come back in the fall. They're the only ones to take residence in the birdhouse. This is the 2nd year they've been back. They do their thing in the spring, then split for the summer/return in the fall for a bit. They're fun to watch/listen to.

The pizza at John's looks fantastic. The other ... too much/too big outer crust for my liking. We've always enjoyed Claudio's in Hell's Kitchen. https://www.google.com/search?q=claudio's+pizza+hell's+kitchen&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiEmvX7oLfqAhXPl3IEHancAUkQ_AUoA3oECBkQBQ&biw=1366&bih=625
