  1. Only to have it end by losing to the Steelers' second string. Still remember drinking in the Hammer lot after the game, rain coming down, listening to New Orleans drive to a winning field goal against the Jets in overtime (needed to win the game and Jets to lose to make playoffs), saying that "we could be so pumped right now." Guess it was a microcosm of the past decade. My apologies for being a buzz kill.
  2. Good read, thanks for posting it
  3. Great story....is your son still a Bills fan? Maybe we can get a few posters to chip in and buy him season tickets? (kidding, kidding. kind of)
  4. Radar O'Reilly is from Ottumwa, Iowa. Gary Burghoff is from Bristol, CT. He should be flattered people remember him for a role he played over 30 years ago.
  5. Sounds like the kind of guy Pete Carroll will take a flyer on in the second or third and end up looking like a genius.
  6. Wish we could redo the second round of the 1994 draft and pass on Bucky and Friggin' Lonnie, who were supposed to shore up the receiving corps for years.
  7. http://www.60maxpowero.com/patriots/content/top-12-bankrupt-nfl-players?utm_source=crowdignite.com&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=crowdignite.com Surprised about Ismail and Mcallister, not so much for the former Bills
  8. Indeed...though maybe Kyle Williams comes close
  9. Glad I wasn't the only one
  10. for those who aren't familiar http://voices.yahoo.com/the-story-lorraine-motel-memphis-14303.html
  11. Can pretty much say the same thing about any 21st century Bills coach
  12. anyone else find their eyes water watching this? maybe I'm just a sensative guy
  13. I'm thinking he was just trying to hit it back and keep the volley going, the behind the back angle sent the ball a little higher than he planned. Everyone seemed good natured about it.
  14. Barrie fire dept. is sister dept with our local VFD. They come here every St. Patrick's weekend. Based on my one weekend a year experience I must agree with your assessment.
  15. As others have pointed out, a bit optimistic but I'd be really happy with your draft. Can't see the Bills passing on Barkley if he is still there at 8.
  16. For one thing, his wife http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaab/2013/03/27/is-fgcu-coachs-wife-and-ex-model-amanda-marcum-the-next-katherine-webb/2023927/
  17. Head, back, groin, ankle, if it isn't one thing it's another, injuries pretty much cover head to toe.
  18. I ended up with Harvard and LaSalle in a Calcutta. So far $170 back on a $35 investment. If only my 401K would have this type of payback!
  19. college football...if you don't play for your conference championship, you shouldn't be able to play for the national championship
  20. I'm for anything that evens the playing field a little, with so many advantages going to the offense over the past 25 years. See how the running backs like having to change the way they initiate contact. Emmitt Smith hates the rule change http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/emmitt-smith-says-proposed-safety-rule-change-means-160244253--nfl.html
  21. Bills were 7-9 in 06, 07, and 08 and 3-6 in 09 under Jauron but yes, Bills ended the season 6-10.
  22. Would amount to trading Jones for Lloyd if we sign him.
  23. Kind of like in 2004 when the Bills cut Ruben Brown and he signed with Chicago, Chicago cut Chris Villarrial who signed with the Bills
