Actually, the Bills first pick ever was Richie Lucas, Penn State qb in 1959. They acquired him through the territorial draft which was held prior to the regular draft. But territorial draft selections were more of an agreement than a selection so I guess your point is valid.

There will still be plenty of big plays, when a db is burned he is burned, nothing left to tackle. College still has plenty of big plays despite the max penalty of 15 yards. I would propose splitting the difference between college and pros. Still a spot foul but the max penalty is 1/2 way to the goal line. That way a PI in a hail mary from mid-field would result in the ball at the 25 rather than the 1.

Actually both games I was screaming that you need to make those interceptions, we aren't good enough to miss out on those opportunities and still win. So yes, I for one blame him.

My biggest fear is that we go in to the Jets game 9-6 with a win and we're in scenario, just to get my heart ripped out yet again. Still remember post game tailgait in the Hammer lot after losing to the Steelers' second string, listening to the Rams (or was it the Saints?) drive in overtime to beat the Jets and saying "We could be so pumped right now" (we needed to win and the Jets to lose to make the playoffs). Other scenarios too numerous to mention, every time we're ready to give up on a game or season, seeing a gilmmer of hope, then bam! As the OP says, being a Bills fan is a neurological condition.
