  1. The Bills had late picks and managed to get two of the very best players at their respective positions. Not too shabby!
  2. Still can't believe they got this guy at 59! I would have been happy with him at 27, to be honest. This definitely takes the sting out of trading away that 4th.
  3. I'm going with a soft 'no', because there were still a lot of great players on the board, and this was something of a luxury pick. Don't get me wrong, I like the player a lot, but he will have to make a pretty big impact for this to be a square deal. As with all draft picks, we don't know if that will pan out.
  4. I don't get it. How is anyone 'tipping' the picks? The draft is broadcast widely on national TV and there are dozens of options to follow along online and on the radio. And nobody outside the teams themselves knows the picks before they happen. We're all just sitting there waiting for picks to come - what difference does it make if I find out 5 seconds before my TV tells me? And who cares if you saw Roger Goodell do it or if it came in the Shoutbox? And if you don't have TV or internet service, then you gotta find out what the picks are somehow - might as well be here. And when is it OK to name a pick? Does one wait 5 minutes out of courtesy? I can't believe the things people get bent out of shape over!
  5. I wanted Torrence. I don't actually know that much about him, but conceptually I think Josh needs interior protection more than he needs another TE to throw to. If Torrence really was the best G in the draft, then I think it would have been nice to have taken him.
  6. Probably won't be awake much after the top 10. Will likely find out who the Bills drafted when I get up to whizz at 3.
  7. Don't forget TinkerBell. Wasn't Steve Christie more or less known as Bigfoot? Or did I just make that up?
  8. He sure looks fast, but he had some gaping holes to exploit in a lot of those highlights. I don't think he gets past the line of scrimmage very often against NFL defenses. I would be more interested to learn more about his teammates on the O-line!
  9. Based on DraftTek trade values, Buffalo would expect to gain a mid 3rd to a high 4th, assuming they also get their trade partner's next pick after 27. That's also assuming it follows the most common draft day trade-up recipe. But it could be more if some other team has a guy they really want at 27.
  10. Beane is definitely not afraid to trade up if that's what looks best.
  11. There will also be a guy named Miller back on the front four this year, FWIW.
  12. With Beane and Company, it seems like just about every option is always on the table. They certainly don't always do what we expect they will do. I think they are very good at preparing options for all kinds of scenarios, and they are willing to commit to the decisions that come from that prep. If, when the time comes, they feel like they are in a better spot by trading down, then I'm sure that's what they'll do.
  13. This is great news. Great player and fan favorite for a very reasonable price.
  14. Crazy, he didn't want to move across the country to play for a team with no plan at DC.
  15. Gabe Davis is a legit #2, and he is going to tear it up this year.
  16. The good news is Beane was able to bring in two interesting IOL prospects to compete in camp, and hopefully contribute. And there was not a lot of talent available, so good on him. Bad news is that even after adding Edwards and McGovern, pretty much nobody currently on the IOL is a bona-fide stud, unless someone is really sandbagging.
  17. You have to think that having no DC plan for a month does not help their chances of signing top free agent defensive talent. Does Bobby Wagner want to sign with a team not knowing what the deal is, if he has other offers where things were more settled?
  18. Because even Bobby Wagner gets hurt once in a while. See: Von Miller2022 for reference.
  19. I think the DL would be dangerously thin if they traded Ed. But you never know, maybe they have a plan for that.
  20. They are improving their role players beyond just special teams guys, and may have even upgraded a starting interior line spot (time will tell). For a team that is generally in good shape at the marquee positions, it's been pretty decent so far. But I think they still need to add at least two proven starters, at G or T and LB. For some reason, maybe its Morse's fragile health, I am hoping they take an interior lineman at 27, but only if a really (really) good one is available. I would much rather see Edmunds replaced by a FA vet than by a draftee for now, and I don't think WR is as bad off as everyone else seems to think (Davis in particular, I still Billieve), but that's just me.
  21. I recall he had some strong play earlier in the season, but wasn't able to sustain it later on. Oh well, as a second-stringer, he's better than a lot of the bums they've fielded on the OL in recent years.
  22. A fun guy with some nice athletic abilities, but it often seemed like his head wasn't in the game.
