  1. Upon further review, our QB choice is looking much better as the season has progressed. Geno is all kinds of bad... my favorite quote in the article attached is.... "According to numbers compiled by Reuben Frank of CSN Philly, Nick Foles still would have a higher passer rating than Smith if he threw an interception on his next 50 (!) pass attempts" That's the worst factual description of a QBs performance I think I've ever read. While last weeks' game was terrible in the ending and OT, we can at least say that EJ made the throws on both occasions that would have won the game for us.
  2. Also surprised nobody has owned up to Tim Tebow,... there was a LOT of talk on this board about us drafting him with our 2nd round pick and lots of advocates for it. He even went to dinner w/ Jim Kelly before the draft who gave him his blessing. Thank God the Broncos jumped up in the 1st round and took him saving us another snakebit story...
  3. Sorta on that note, mine would be Todd Collins. I thought that he would be a good successor to Kelly. I was working with a guy who knew Michigan football well at the time and he kept telling what a great pick we made snagging him. I thought the Bills should have given him more time to develop,... but clearly he never did beyond being an occasional back-up Good thread....
  4. Well,... he was legitimately in that conversation for that finite window of time.... then it unraveled for him
  5. I am an advocate for that strategy at times, but I don't think I would have done it yesterday. The D had found its way by the 4th quarter and it was reasonable to expect that they could have won in OT. In fact they did get the stop in OT period, but the offense couldn't move and then ST gave up a big return.
  6. The legendary Punter or the starting QB?
  7. He's been at practices and team meetings for well over a month now... he has to know the calls....
  8. So I thought I would get one started... I think we're going to stuff his a$$ tonight, just like we destroyed the Ravens last week on the ground! Calling the over/under on him at 50 yards... I'm picking the under!
  9. hmmm,.... I watched one of their preseason games where he was sacked multiple times in the first half he played. Their OL is bad, but it wasn't all them... he had some serious RobJohnsonitis. He looked lost...
  10. Hmmm,... hasn't Byrd and his agent blown their cred on a handshake agreement? He's handled this situation terribly, I don't think I would trust something like that
  11. Doesn't the FP restriction only apply to the Bills?? Wouldn't another team be able to sign him long-term right away? Anyhow, I agree with your conclusion on the compensation...
  12. ...and in the first game of this season That one was a controversial fumble we were all howling about. He was playing with a shoulder injury and they ran him up the gut right into Vince Wilfork killing our momentum
  13. I don't understand why Hopkins hasn't been IR'ed yet in order to clear that space and sign a player to cover our injury issues?? Our whole inactive list for games is injury ridden, why keep a 3rd K on the active roster? Let him compete for the job next year...
  14. I went with Aaron Williams as well, but certainly the entire list is worthy of consideration. Nice to see 2 rookies on it! Plugging the secondary was just gigantic. As much as I love what Kiko did, with all the injuries in our secondary our CBs needed to shut receivers down to avoid an onslaught that a LB would have made little difference to hold back.
  15. Dude, I suggest drinking tonight ,or maybe you already started. We can drop this one and just back to b#$chin about whether Byrd's faking it or not!??!
  16. Relax Junior,... just a topic of discussion while waiting for Sunday. Its not like this was initiated in the middle of game
  17. Since the NFL split their draft across 3 days two years ago, its seems the 2nd round has been a lucky one for us. In both years we saw the player we wanted and needed still on the board with Cordy Glenn and Robert Woods. In both years I was screaming (to myself) that we had to make a move to go up and get them. In both cases we stayed put and they fell to us! I'm still amazed that after having overnight to assess the remaining players that nobody grabbed them or jumped in front of us as I think our intended pick was easy to figure out.... Are we lucky??
  18. Even if the Bills had signed him to their Practice Squad, the Colts could have signed him away (we've done that before) as its unlikely we would have elevated him to our active roster in response, given where our injuries are at this time
  19. I agree with that one.... I'm not sure how to assess that for him and have no basis for making any claims about this injury. However the public look of this is that he's dragging his feet (no pun intended) to play. Particularly on an exciting up-and-coming team. Not sure how that would be viewed by the league if you're going to destroy your public image in a city and perhaps with a team over being named their Franchise Player that's not good. As a Free Safety, he's not at a critical position to cash in anyhow.... like a QB, LT or WR might be
  20. When was the last time you recall a victory where all of our supposed stars played a major role? QB -- Manuel, nearly 300 yds plus game winning drive RB -- Spiller 103 yds, plus TD from Jackson WR -- Stevie 111 yds recieving plus game winning catch DL -- Mario 4.5 sacks LB -- Kiko sack plus INT, plus tackles Man, that's almost like we're recounting the glory days listing Kelly, TT, Reed, Bruce and Bennett's accomplishments in a big win.... hopefully this is something we can talk about the rest of the year.... everyone showed up!!
  21. Good one.... but lets move Commit Fewer Penalties up a few notches in light of how they devastated 2 promising drives and seems to have been a problem throughout the preseason. But good every week summary list nonetheless...
  22. Those were my three as well. The penalties were just killers. Both the big pass to Woods and first down pick-up by Jackson wiped out. They just stop the drive cold when they were moving. Both turnovers were in our own end of the field, the fumble by Spiller, just ridiculous. Then the drop by Stevie just can't be made by someone who talks as much as he does. These games really go down to just a few plays. Without the four plays I just sited, we might have not just won, but comfortably... makes you want to scream!
  23. Thank you... well said! This is the kind of thread that rapidly degenerates into nonsense when Pos(t)ers are just trying to antagonize the group
  24. I'm not sure if its fair to dip into the 2nd round in defining busts, but I just looked at 2008's infamous WR class where the Devin Thomas, James Hardy, Malcolm Kelly, Limas Sweed and Dexter Jackson all flamed out rapidly (in 1-3 years)
  25. OK, so looking back in the last 5 years only... to go w/ Curry here are the biggest busts I could find: -- Vernon Gholston drafted #6 overall in 2008 by the Jets, out of the league after 3 years -- Derrick Harvey drafted #8 overall in 2008 by Jaguars, out of the league after 4 years -- Jason Smith drafted #2 overall in 2009, busted out of St. Louis after 2 1/2 years, still in the league though -- Aaron Maybin makes the list for 2009 as well... 'nuff said -- AJ Jenkins drafted #30 overall (1st round) by 49ers just last year and they've given up on him already, KC is trying him now
