The offense seemed to come easy to EJ and Tuel
cage replied to NYCBoozers's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Tuel should be in play to start depending on how the next 2 games go. I"m assuming he'll play the second half in the next game and 3 quarters the following week. If those games play out anywhere near how the Colts game did AND EJ is not ready to play in Week 1, then I think they have to give strong consideration to starting Tuel over Kolb.... just my thoughts. -
Good sarcasm, I suppose.... however the OP wasn't proposing an outlandish trade. The guy he wanted was a young, potentially very good, but currently BACKUP Guard. Also, the Seahawks seem to have a need at WR, where we have some surplus. I'm not sure why your response is called for in this scenario??

Seattle's in a position where they need to wait until November for Harvin and are potentially a Super Bowl contending team,... Brad Smith is the surer choice for their needs. I'm liking this idea a lot. If this gave us a young starting LG, I'd have no problem throwing in a low round draft pick w/ Smith. Would rather keep TJ, not going to dismiss him because of some rookie year struggles
-
I like that idea much better! I think he's become expendable. If we needed to throw in a pick w/ Smith, I like that better than w/ Graham.

I had wondered about this as well... thx for the explanation!

I know.... I'm certainly not implying that he will be Peyton Manning, just that way he was maneuvering and coordinating the offense in that hurry up reminded me of watching him

I See No Reason To Temper Enthusiasm

I'm not sure anyone's making a bold prediction. I don't think anyones running to Vegas to place big bets,.... we're just excited about what seems like a positive direction -

Man that's pretty cynical.... I feel for you. If you generate any excitement about what you saw yesterday I recommend some type of home project for the fall that consumes your Sundays -

I agree completely,... when's the last time we could generate some excitement based on what we actually saw on the field. We saw competent play, good coaching on all three aspects of the game, exciting young players,... plenty of reason for hope Lets enjoy being fans! -
LIving in Virginia, I haven't had a chanced to see Hogan before yesterday. Honestly he reminded me of David Nelson... good hands, tall, lanky, decent possession receiver, but looks like he's going to get broken in half every time he's tackled

Discussion about the affect of those who weren't on the field Who was helped... -- Jairus Byrd certainly, I think we need to get him into camp somehow, I hope they're talking because both Luck and Hasselbeck were able to move the ball pretty well. Who was hurt... -- Obviously Kevin Kolb given the performance of both QBs -- Brad Smith, with the effectiveness of young WRs and kick returners, it clearly puts him in some jeopardy. With a reduced, renegotiated contract they should try to trade him for something outside the divisions as I wouldn't want the Jets or Pats to sign him when we cut him -- 1 roster spot for WR/DB/LB after Tuel's performance, he made it much more difficult to stash him on the PS any others??

That's right it was... I think the refs just wanted to keep the game interesting so the fans wouldn't keep leaving the stadium

Wow, wasn't expecting this one... I guess its a good thing he walked away from us last year http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000228928/article/robert-meachems-body-reportedly-is-broken-down
-
Is it just me or did watching him move around up/down the OL, shouting out instructions, all animated.... he looked just like Peyton Manning running an offense... very impressive
-
Every day in practice it seems that there are multiple long bombs being completed by all three QBs to a variety of receivers... that part looks great on offense, but is that telegraphing something about the D? Specifically poor Safeties??

Facial La Fleur,... total facial!!

As we get close to the first preseason game, I'm interested in any comments on some of the players that we haven't heard too much about in the early stories / anecdotes... -- Ron Brooks,.... expecting his role to grow this year?? -- Marcus Easley,.... have seen a few notes on some long catches, but certainly not gettng much press?? -- Aaron Williams,... how is transition going to SS, depth chart that includes Byrd indicates him as the starter?? -- Marcell Dareus,... not sure how he's doing in camp at the moment?? -- Kyle Williams,... is he fully back from heel injury?? -- Manny Lawson,.... only big FA signing, but not much on how he's doing?? Any comments on these guys and others flying under the radar that I missed would be appreciated....

Wish him good health... RETIRED

Add in to that, how you justify to one of your players who tore an ACL or suffered some other serious injury during the season that the goal was to tank games for a better draft positon... UGH!
-
There are so many things wrong with this thought, its not clear where to begin. I agree with all the responses before me on this one and would add in that anyone caught doing this would be investigated and the scandal would rival BountyGate and the Pats videotaping scandals. The likely punishment could include forfieting our first round draft pick (thats what happened to Pats) and/or having Marrone suspended for a year (thats what happened to New Orleans). Also corrupting the intergrity of the game goes back to Chicago Black Sox and Pete Rose type problems ...and we could fill up the next 10 pages of this thread listing all the "can't miss HOFers" drafted in the first round who tanked our of the league in a few years

Derrick Dockery, Langston Walker,... wasn't Mark Anderson up there briefly last year?
-
I've been here many years... I'm skeptical of this claim
-
Aren't you confusing this with the Madden Curse? CJ is on the cover of BuffaloBills.com right now....does that mean it all over already?
-
Haha,... I figured I had to add him, but wasn't expecting much support there given the current situation. Was also going to gauge the love for Garrison Sanborn?!?
-
Jinx?? How has that worked? Its been '90s legends for several years now on the cover and I don't see how that's helped anything? What am I missing? I say BS (not Bruuucee) to that....
