  1. I didn't see the game, but was reading Bucky Gleason's article this morning. Gailey didn't put Easley into the game after Johnson got hurt, but played Ruvell Martin instead? At this stage I don't think I need to even list the issues with that, so I'll just throw the red meat of the headline to hungry masses.... have at it!
  2. Yes all that! Thx for sparing me the trouble to type it...
  3. Haha,.... good laugh on that one!!
  4. I can't ever recall being less indifferent about a victory over the "hated" fish.... who are we playing again next week??
  5. Yeah, as much as we hate situations like Mario Williams who is now clearly not performing to his contract (yet?), when looking across the league the players have to make sure they get get their chance to be paid. If you weren't a 1st round draft pick, then you possibly have just one shot at a big contract and the player has to make it count. Way back in the mid-'90s the Bills drafted 2 CBs; Marlon Kerner (3rd) and Ken Irvin (4th). As rookies both played well, even started some games due to injuries to others and looked they they would be good picks with a future. Kerner was the better player and the first back-up in the game. In his 3rd year he went down with an ACL injury, came back from it and they had another ACL that wiped out his next year.... he was done and clearly never got paid beyond his initial contract. Irvin stepped in, did well, never got hurt and ended up scoring a good contract once his initial one was up and went on to have a decent career. He wasn't a superstar, but a solid starter who never got hurt and ended up getting paid.
  6. I didn't see the game, but just saw a clip of that play. Lots of bad play design there, why did the play have 2 receivers (and therefore 2 DBs) running into the same part of the field. Seems like only Jones or Johnson should've been in the area. I like these kinds of plays and going for it, but we can't execute on the creativity
  7. I think back in the late '70s when they wore that type of combo, they still had the white helmets... it was before they switched to the red ones. I could be wrong, going by memory
  8. Reactions? Are these the throwback uniforms? Shouldn't we be throwing back to the Kelly years rather than the Joe Ferguson, Joe Cribbs era?? They did look kind of interesting, but I'm not sure where they came from and why....
  9. Its Chris Kelsay,... he's the difference maker they've been waiting for!!
  10. So now we have the following defensive starters all in the line-up 2011 #1 pick -- Marcel Dareus 2011 #2 pick -- Aaron Williams 2011 #3 pick -- Kelvin Sheppard 2012 #1 pick -- Stefan Gilmore 2012 #4 pick -- Nigel Bradham All five of the top defensive picks in the last 2 drafts are starting.... lets see how well we drafted
  11. Cutler would have flamed out on this team by now. Whatever you think of his issues or arm, I can't believe he would have been successful with the Bills
  12. This is a tough problem. While true they could have picked Dalton, that's really a hindsight miss. Its hard to fault them for that one and the poster had done a great analysis on how tough it is to get a Franchise guy. The issue is that there's only about 10 of these guys in a league that requires 32 starters. Look at all the misses and busts on that list of other QBs selected.
  13. There as also a big wildcat play by Brad Smith!
  14. I agree, I would have been upset if they took a knee. They should have been trying for at least a FG. The pass to Chandler was good and I don't think I've ever seen him fumble. I can be upset about a lot of things yesterday, but that one's not on my list. I think running Spiller up the gut last week with the bad shoulder was a much greater strategic blunder. Also agree with your assertion on the D's response to the turnover... appalling!
  15. This is the week to do it...
  16. I agree with your point and acknowledged at the start of this thread that the fumble didn't factor into the margin of difference in the game. That play was one of way too many problems. I guess my simple point is the concern over Gailey making such a blatant strategic blunder at a point in the game like that. Very Jauron-like or should I say Mularkey-like,... no I think I mean Williams-like.
  17. I don't think we could have predicted what would have happened, but 28-7 certainly changes a lot in the game and many of your points are likely. It was just a strategically poor decision. Gailey had many chess pieces in that situation (Jackson, Choice,...) and he played the wrong one.
  18. Not saying I'm smart enough to coach an NFL team, but I was saying it to my sons as they got inside the 10 and saw that Spiller was on the field... yeah, I'm bitter! Exactly!
  19. While that event didn't factor into the margin of victory, I felt that Gailey made an enormous strategic blunder on that drive. They were down inside the 5 and looking to run it down the Pats throat to finish the half up 21-7. Running Spiller up the gut had catastrophe written all over it. It was a spot where they should have brought Tashard Choice and not put it in the hands of the guy with the questionable shoulder. They put in Spiller in a bad situation and paid the price. Who knows how it might have played out but If they had scored there, then 27-7 in the 3rd quarter might be a different game... poor coaching by Gailey.
  20. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000066450/article/among-rookies-justin-blackmon-down-luke-kuechly-up?module=HP11_content_stream In addition to Glenn, I'm thinking back to all the draft chatter around here -- WR Sanu, threw a 73 yd bomb to last week out of the wildcat to AJ Green in Bengals / Redskins game On the negative side: -- WR Floyd, who many people wanted -- WR Quick, hasn't done a thing -- OT Reiff, is not starting at either RT or LT yet, making passing on him and getting Glenn in the 2nd round all the more brilliant -- OT Martin, who I was really happy we didn't pick is struggling w/ the Dolphins
  21. Haha,... now that's good!
  22. Yes that,... is this being reported anywhere else??
  23. So do they finally have to either fish or cut bait on either Thigpen or Tavaris Jackson? Seems like they'll need to sign a RB this week, while holding Spiller and Freddie on the roster. Any thoughts on what's out there?
  24. Dude everyone's going to be in your face on this comment the first time he plows the road in December for a TD run!
