  1. They wouldn't be able to get him until after the season and playoffs. That seems like wild speculation this far in advance.
  2. Darnold doesn't seem like Bills material...
  3. While its a tough call, this type of PI call happens nearly every week in various games. Its happened to the Bills before. The only difference is the game isn't typically on the line. Makes little difference whether its PI or Illegal Use of Hands. The result would have been first down with Allen in business. I would imagine with the same result finishing the game.
  4. I think we need to get back to being a Justin Zimmer-led defense. We've gotten away from that since the Jets game...
  5. Surprise: 1. Allen, I've like him a lot, even in his rookie year, but this performance has to be beyond anyone's expectations... #Allen4MVP 2. Daboll, just calling beautiful games. On the first scoring drive, first & goal from the 1 and three throws with no attempt to rush it in with Allen... #FirstTime 3. WRs, all of them are just ballin'. No weaknesses... #DukeWho Disappointment: 1. DT play, admit it, you never thought you would miss Star.... #EdWho 2. Frazier, where are the defensive adjustments that we see when they're playing well? #FixIT 3. Rookies, we're used to having strong draft classes that are contributing early... #JustGabe
  6. "quickly enough"? He was a 2nd year fifth round pick... nonetheless the picks we acquired were part of Diggs trade, so I think most of us would have pulled the trigger on that
  7. He just played for them part of a year at the very end of his career. I don't imagine the Fish fans having the same love for TT. The players I can think of that played for both are Hogan (WR), O'Leary (TE), Incognito (OG), Carpenter (K), now Shaq Lawson, Jordan Phillips.... Phillips and Incognito were well-liked here, but not necessarily there. But neither rose to the level of affection that Fitzpatrick has attained. Given rivalries its even tough to think of too many players that played in both Pittsburgh/Cleveland, Dallas/Washington, Dallas/Philly, Buffalo/NE Pitt/Baltimore KC/Raiders, GB/Chicago that fit the concept. Maybe Curtis Martin who was in NE and Jets. Though he left NE before the Brady era took off, so he may not have the love there?? Maybe he is HOF material?
  8. I was thinking about whether there's another player who played for both the Bills and the Dolphins and is universally loved by both fan bases. I can't think of another. That says something....
  9. Recalling the "Ed Oliver is a bust" threads from last season. Also, I think there were some "Tremaine Edmunds looks slow and will never be a....." threads the year before. I can't recall specifically, but there may have even been some negative opinions on Josh Allen along the way as well....
  10. I thought he was a good player that needed some room to grow
  11. From the Athletic...I don't think we've ever seen a Bills offense like this. Even the K-gun was tame by comparison Sorry, subscription required https://theathletic.com/2084441/2020/09/22/final-thoughts-10-things-we-learned-from-the-bills-win-over-the-dolphins/ The Bills have run 32 plays out of 10 personnel, which is when four wide receivers are on the field. That’s by far the most in the NFL. The next closest team is the Arizona Cardinals with 17. After that, the Seahawks and Patriots are tied with three each. There are 24 NFL teams who haven’t run a single play with four wide receivers on the field through two weeks of the season. Buffalo has a quarterback capable of running this offense and an offensive coordinator who isn’t afraid to let him loose. That’s a combination Bills fans haven’t seen in years.
  12. Mr. Allen.... vote him up! https://www.nfl.com/voting/air-and-ground/ BTW, people can vote as many times as they want.... #keepvoting
  13. Thats because their advertising rates go up as there's more people watching
  14. uh, you mean "Larry".... they're on a first name basis
  15. No chance. They love that guy. He's a also a core ST player
  16. Absolutely right, he's always had this ability to evade rushers in large part. To the OPs point, the difference this year seems to be that he's still in the process of finding and throwing to his receivers rather than just tuck and run as in the past! The difference in his progress is clear
  17. He's the only one offering this kind of analysis. The Cover1 guys do some of this, but pick/choose the players, scenarios and themes that they want to focus on. They don't look at each player, each game and aggregate that over the course of the season. So I'm not sure of Joe's qualifications in their entirety, he offers a body of work that seems to be worth looking at and debating. I don't think his analysis should be dismissed out of hand. If he's monitoring this discussion, I do think he should publish his criteria and if he's working with anyone else in determining his ratings. This back/forth happens every time someone references his analysis to make a point.
  18. Some great perspective on this topic. I got busy at work yesterday and got away from this thread, but read all the comments this morning, which I rarely do on something that has run on for multiple pages. I'll apologize up front as this link requires subscription to The Athletic (actually a great deal on subscribing going on right now) that compares Allen, Darnold and Mayfield on where they are in regard to membership to $40m/year club that Mahomes and Watson started. They already concede that Jackson will likely be the next member. And, of course, Rosen is an afterthought. Anyhow, I thought this piece advances the conversation further https://theathletic.com/2068320/2020/09/15/lombardi-can-josh-allen-sam-darnold-and-baker-mayfield-carry-their-franchises/
  19. Perhaps they're not genuflecting, but they both worked with him exclusively leading up to the draft and every off-season since. How is... dedicated to working with Jordan Palmer to improve their craft
  20. It's interesting that both Allen and Darnold work out together all off-season and both have been religiously working with Jordan Palmer. It appears to have had a positive affect on Josh as he's steadily improved and we saw that in his passing this Sunday as he starts his 3rd year. Here is the write-up on Darnold's performance on The Athletic after reviewing the tape Sorry, paid site link, but I'll quote a bit of it: https://theathletic.com/2064818/2020/09/14/after-further-review-23-next-day-thoughts-after-the-jets-week-1-beatdown/ "We talked a lot about Darnold after the game. It felt warranted after the quarterback’s poor performance. After watching the film on Monday, I probably wasn’t harsh enough on the 23-year-old. The biggest concern on rewatch, though, was Darnold’s footwork. Adam Gase and Dowell Loggains have done everything they can to hammer the need for Darnold to align his footwork with his body. He has a tendency to to align himself one way, see something somewhere else, then move his torso without resetting his feet to try to hit his target. Seldom, if ever, does this lead to an accurate pass. The Jets might get away with it — but it’s not smart. There were several times where Darnold, despite this being a point of emphasis last season and over the offseason, went back to his old ways."
  21. At one point, I actually heard the announcer call out our ... "Justin Zimmer-led defense". If anyone has the full quote, it was priceless. #couldBatattoo
  22. Yikes,...I thought Darnold's game was horrid. He was missing people all day long. While he doesn't have great receivers, he also showed less promise today than Allen did in his rookie year when he was throwing to Zay Jones, Deonte Thompson, Andre Holmes and Charles Clay
  23. Honestly, I can't believe we're here! I would have thought there would be substantial COVID breakouts in training camp at the very least delaying all this. I'm looking forward to some Bills football today!! #happy2Bwrong
  24. Forget this year. I'm going to start worrying right now about 2021. How will the Bills be able to defend their Super Bowl championship and handle the deafening crowd noise after getting used to silence in stadiums? We can't just be one and done....
  25. What about Leger Douzable? Wish we still had him....
