  1. It has to be devastating when you realize that you just can't do it anymore and your playing career is over. I understand the retirement after going through the whole offseason thinking you can still bring it. None of us can imagine how that might feel, the finality of it. With that said, he should have gone to Frazier, taken himself out of the game and supported his teammates through the 2nd half. He could have retired after the game and people would have a lot more respect for it....
  2. Dude,... TMI
  3. I'll take issue with the reds. I think they look really sharp!
  4. Thats right! You have to look at every draft pick in the context of when they were taken, what the team's needs were at the time and other players still available. Gronk is the player who had injury concerns, not Troupe. The Pats rolled the dice on him and won that one. The drafting process can't be criticize retrospectively with 20:20 hindsight without context. We did need a DT at the time. Unfortunately after Suh and McCoy drafter #2/3 the rest of the DTs taken through the first 3 rounds didn't really turn out. Its unfortunate, but if you look at the draft, Troupe was the 5th DT taken early in the 2nd round, so they were coming off the board. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2010/draft.htm
  5. This made me look up Erik Flowers and the 2000 draft. We picked him 26th in the first round. I'm staring at the rest of the first round and top half of the 2nd and the only player of note they could have had is Keith Bullock (LB). Pretty thin draft from the looks of it so Flowers may have been the best they could do with what was available?? http://www.nfl.com/draft/history/fulldraft?season=2000
  6. As a number of people stated, this list needs some criteria. Not every bust means that the drafting process was flawed. As some have pointed out Mike Williams was a consensus top 10 pick. Spiller and Whitner were clearly going in the 1st round. Edwards and Hardy were picked in 3rd and 2nd and considered good choices at that point as was Zay Jones in the 2nd. Both Hardy and Jones had strong college careers. The really questionable ones in my mind were Maybin having only 1 good year and Orakpo still available. Forecasting that they would pick a QB in a poor QB draft, essentially forcing the Manuel pick. The did trade down before taking him, so they had their own doubts. Trading up for McCargo. The Flowers and Losman picks I can't comment on as much as I just can't recall the surrounding details.
  7. And Joe Webb is a 0?? He won the most memorable non-playoff game (certainly top 5) we may have ever had
  8. The conclusion is spot on based on what he said... take it to the bank
  9. The season is now fully screwed. Trump tells sports execs he expects NFL season to start as planned... https://talkingpointsmemo.com/news/trump-nfl-coronavirus
  10. Its important to read the article. He lays out the rationale at each stage of the draft. When you read that and what teams in front of us may do, its a lot clearer as to how he got there
  11. Also, would like to see some type of explanation of this algorithm. Yikes when I see this: 397 Steve Tasker 1986 1997 160 WR 7 Apparently on par with Stefan Charles, Johnny Green, Dee Hardison, Izell Reese, Larry Watkins and Chris Watson #WhoRThey I'm stopping at this point...
  12. Well our current stars have much to aspire to as they head into their 3rd-4th years together 123 Mack Yoho 1960 1963 56 LDE 28 ... 141 Matt Milano 2017 2019 44 OLB 24 146 Tremaine Edmunds 2018 2019 31 ILB 23 147 Micah Hyde 2017 2019 47 CB 23 166 Jordan Poyer 2017 2019 47 CB 21 186 Dion Dawkins 2017 2019 48 OG 19 203 Josh Allen 2018 2019 28 QB 17 This Yoho guy was well before my time, but he must have been something!! This tells me that if each of these guys improve enough to vault themselves past Mack Yoho, they could just win the Super Bowl?!?! Forget all the "Trust the Process", "Playoff Caliber" and "Championship Caliber" stuff peppered throughout in the locker room. How about #AtLeastBeAYOHO
  13. Awesome! I'll have to think about turning my Fred Jackson into.... TJ Yeldon?!? Actually, that doesn't even sound right...
  14. Yeah, that part is confusing?
  15. Yes,... they want you to buy a Diggs jersey
  16. As part of my morning routine after checking out TBD, I went on to NFL.com and WOW. And on the front page I see this. How many years do we have to go back since the last time a Bills player was featured for jersey sales?? #wehavearrived
  17. I"m not sure he has the ammo to trade-up early on. I don't see him moving up in the 2nd as it would likely cost a 3rd or 4th, that's probably more than he'd want to give away. Moving up in the 3rd/4th if it costs a 5th or 6th is certainly possible
  18. What's he supposed to say? He wants to be the starting QB and has confidence in himself. Wouldn't every QB?
  19. Rule #76 - No excuses. Play like a champion!
  20. This past week was fun imagining what kind of team the Bills would be able to put on the field, while at the the same time having reality on my mind at every moment. At best the season will have to be delayed. I can't imagine being able to have the spirit of football work in empty stadiums. Its such a game of momentum and the crowd is an absolutely essential piece of that. We may be in for disappointment.
  21. Yes, from a strategic, cultural and team-building perspective they've done so much right. Even if Allen doesn't work out and can't be good enough McBeane's research and thought process into the decision to draft him has been well documented and sound. The QB hit rate, even for those who are top 15 selections is under 50%. Its the hardest position to peg. That's just a reality. I would also argue that under that reality, what we've seen from Allen already has justified the draft pick and their reasoning to take a chance on him. I'll add another anecdotal proof point. When Allen was selected, I would guess-timate that under 50% of this board were excited about the pick, that has been discussed in several previous threads. I would further guess that near 100% agree with the pick now, two years later. They've won over a pretty tough audience They stay.
  22. He did sell his house long before Monday night...
  23. Interesting that at age 26 he would only warrant a 2 year contract??
  24. Would love to see us get lucky with a couple of these options dropping for our 2nd???? -- Terrell Lewis, Edge -- Kyle Duggar, S -- Trevon Diggs, CB (would we go for that now?) -- Ezra Cleveland, OT -- Best RB available / Akers, Edwards-Helaire, Swift?
  25. This is why people start new threads as this will get buried on page 7, but pretty shocking when you see the summary of O'Brien's trading
