Isaiah McKenzie aka, Lil Dirty, sounds like he’s moving on
maddenboy replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
its all dregs. There's nothin on that list I would want, except maybe Chris Godwin (TB) or Mike Williams (LAC). Davante Adams isnt going anywhere that Aaron Rodgers isnt. JuJu is a knucklehead, and OBJ is the anti-process player. -
Good. I'm ready to move on. Thanks for posting something forward-looking. (and i think i speak for all of us when I say "thank you for bringing back the Yellow Dog")
-
well, well, well. Good shot, Rico.
-
I think Rams over Bucs, because Rams seem thirsty. Normally I'd pick away from a collection of talent vs a real team (see, SF over Dallas last week). But the Rams seem different and OBJ hasnt killed chemistry.
-
but in the post right above yours, I show myself picking all 4 road teams. So its me and Rico. (and I dont know who else because I did not check). He has Bucs, I have Rams

Divisional Round SATURDAY: Bengals at Titans, 4:30 on CBS
maddenboy replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
i think Burrow eats sacks because of them drafting Chase over Penei Sewell at OT. Joe, if we draft Chase, you are gonna get hit a lot. a ton. YOu need to have 80 sacks and 3 interceptions this year, since you dont want us to draft a blocker. -

73 Underclassmen ruled eligible for 2022 draft
maddenboy replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall
its so awesome how I can NOWadays read this topic title and be like . . . so what? what does this have to do with me? Good times. -
PFT noted how likely it is that Schoen will interview Frazier and/or Daboll for head coach. I'm thinking, wouldnt it be very telling if Schoen did Not interview both? Or that if he only interviewed one, what that means about the other. And if he doesnt interview both, or else interviews neither, is thee a wink/nod not to poach them? Or have they told him they dont want the Giants HC job anyway? oooooh. drama. (that's all I got here)

A Few Thoughts about the Jets Game, in no particular order
maddenboy replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree wholeheartedly. Its not just the hour or two for the Zoom interview. Its the preparation for the biggest job interview of your life. Since it (necessarily in most cases) involves a promotion to a position you've never had before. Pretty sure I'd want to spend hours prepping for that. Most of us know the feeling when (1) you NAILED an interview, and (2) when you just wasted everybody's time, and you drive home thinking about how you should have prepared better. -
so then, it should be the AFC division that's playing that particular NFC division that season? and to be silly here: maybe the superbowl champion can decide which bye weeks it wants, and then the rest of the bye schedule would be automatic off of that, since the divisions will travel together through byes. And it should be BEFORE the superbowl team sees the schedule.

Re-thinking the hiring of color commentators
maddenboy replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here, I think of Charles Davis. As a color guy he gives me all I could ever want about the player. Not really much at all about the game. Not his wheelhouse. So if. If. We like the charles davis stuff, then a local beat writer would be great. Or, maybe this is another reason to have 3 in the booth. Play, color, player-knowledge -

I'm not saying "dont replace or upgrade the current color guys." OP was talking about bringing in some new blood at the position. -
Re-thinking the hiring of color commentators
maddenboy replied to Miyagi-Do Karate's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agree. but we do want to be entertained by the color guy. usually the play-by-play guy is dry, which is fine. Or, maybe the better play is to get rid of the play-by-play guy. The color guy can give me down, distance, penalty called, etc. So maybe go with 2 color guys. An entertainer and a football geek. To keep football alive, cater to the new generation of fans and potential fans. They have short attention and want to be entertained, as they multi-multi-task while they watch. -
Wonderlic Test Eliminated from Pre-Draft Process
maddenboy replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Dorq gets back to my point. Florio states that the Wonderlic is irrelevant. It is not. The 40 yard dash might be 'irrelevant' in that same sense. But the 40 is not irrelevant. It might not be a reliable predictor of what you are trying to use it for though, and that's YOUR problem. Doesnt mean the test, or test result, is irrelevant. People adjust the results to see if they apply to the desired trait, which is why they now do the 10-yard split times for the 40. Because people arent stupid and realized that O-Linemen never do run 40, but its still relevant to see them run fast in a straight line. Not determinative, but certainly relevant. Me? I'll be quite happy if other teams use the Wonderlic, and the 40, and the Bench, and the background checks, wrongly. If I think my team doesn't make those mistakes, its better for me. -
Wonderlic Test Eliminated from Pre-Draft Process
maddenboy replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall
I dont like how Florio states his opinion here as if it were fact. Stating that the wonderlic is irrelevant. That's a stupid statement in itself. There's 32 teams and lots of personnel on each team. How can he possibly know how it is used. I disagree that it is irrelevant. But if teams use it wrongly, that's better for the teams that use it correctly. I think what he NFL is after here, is (1) stopping the scores from leaking and (2) possible liability later, for leaked scores. Especially if there are statements regarding confidentiality that the nfl makes to the test takers. -
disagree about the money. Tepper would feel embarrassed, but he doesnt seem to be the type to throw good money after bad. Tepper wants a franchise QB. He told anyone who would listen, before he bought the team, that the NFL is designed for every team to be .500 so the only way to break out from the pack is with a Franchise Quarterback. And secondly, to spend whatEVER is necessary on things that are not limited by the salary cap. So, he will keep swing for Franchise QB and also Franchise HC. I still see deshawn watson there. I now see him woo-ing Aaron Rodgers and maybe settling for Russell Wilson.
