  1. 2 Questions for the O.P. 1) Are you going to run this analysis again closer to the draft? With trades and FA pickups and rumored trades, the mock drafts will change a lot. So if the draft were tomorrow morning, your analysis would be based on much more reliable (if mock drafts can be called reliable) input. I hope you do, and I look forward to it. 2) As to trading down, its not just whether they guy you want will be available later, its also whether the guy someone else covets is available at 9. So for those of us analyzing who is available for the bills at 9, also think about who is available for some other teams that might want to jump up to 9. Well done, sir.
  2. Vince Wilfork. Can teach the 3-4, has not much wear on his tires, and knows the AFC east, especially the Patriots. And he's young. 2nd choice Jamaal Williams, DT for the Chargers. Similar package. These guys are harder to find than even Left Tackles, so that is the only position i would even consider.
  3. .500 football. WooHoo!!!!! Pop the champagne !!! Who cares what it would have taken to be a .500 team? Instead, the attitude should be "what will it take to win the Superbowl NOW?" Not on a 5 year plan. The teams that want to win it all NOW are the ones who fire 9-7 coaches with 3 years left on their contracts (gruden) because they arent winning the superbowl NOW. Those teams will do whatever it takes. The bills will do whatever is reasonably priced to try to be competitive enough to fill the seats, and "well, if we can sneak into the playoffs, who knows what can happen." Screw that. If we are making moves that arent designed to win the Superbowl THIS YEAR, then they are a waste of time. Of course I'm not stupid enough to not realize that this is not a superbowl team this year, but its the attitude. The commitment from RW on down. If its not there, you will have zero chance. Look at Rex Ryan. From day one, he was trying to win the Superbowl Right NOW. DJ was tryin to keep games within reach. .500 football. Woohoo.
  4. Very well written OP. I feel the same way you do, basically. I am tired of wasting my 3.5 hours every sunday. Its like watching the same movie over and over, but you already know how its going to end. And how long has it been since any Bills fan had this thought before a game: "Man, we are gonna kick their ASS!" Or when was the last time we had any unit, offense or defense, that DICTATED to other teams, and kept opposing coordinators up at night. Do not lower your standards, Bills fans. I think you guys have generally started to slip in your expectations. Patriots fans are angry that in the last 6 years they have Won superbowl, lost superbowl, lost conference final, lost divisional round, lost wildcard round, and missed playoffs (like hitting for the cycle - all 6 possible ends in 6 years). But we have missed playoffs all 6 years, and fans are like "yeah, maybe next year. who should we draft? Lets make 3,245 posts about that topic). I think OP is saying this Bills team has splashed cold water on his face, and he's waking up. I'm awake too.
  5. http://www.gostanford.com/sports/m-footbl/...augh_jim00.html Coaching family. Quarterbacks coach with the Raiders (when they were still an NFL team) for 2 years. He's been prepping for this for years. this year, Oregon beat USC. Then Stanford beat Oregon. Then Stanford beat USC (like 55-21). And he took big slow smart kids and made them competitive overnight. He can work with a big coldweather team in buffalo (which Buddy Nix seems to want. correctly). And lets not forget, his white running back was a heisman finalist (spare me your "maddenboy's a racist" posts. I am black, but when was the last time that happened? 1950s?). Harbaugh KNOWS football.
  6. Gotta be Harbaugh. He would have to move quick, and stealthy. His resume screams "young rising coach." They maybe interviewed him in detroit, since Ralph lives there, and any harbaugh sighting in B'lo would be bad for harbaugh. RW and buddy could even have driven to D-town to avoid being seen at airports. Harbaugh played at Michigan so maybe no one would care if he was in Detroit, since their job isnt open. Rekanize!
  7. Bottom line: Ralph will ONLY do something when he HAS to. As long as you people keep filling his pockets every sunday, he doesnt need to. I vowed before the Cleveland game that, if they lost, I would not watch another game, or go to one, or buy any Bills stuff, until Jauron is fired. I wish more of you would do the same. I even asked myself today when I got to this site "why do I care to go to this Bills site." And frankly, firing Jauron at this point wont fix much if he hires an interim coach from within. We need change now. We need the coach for the next few years to come in now, evaluate now, and begin teaching his way now. now. If I were 91 years old I would do everything humanly possible to win the Super Bowl NOW. I guess he is doing everything humanly possible to make sure his heirs get 3 or 4 million more dollars after he's gone. . Now THAT'S a Hall of Fame owner!
  8. I'll give him a pass. He has warmed my heart so many times over the years. When the whole country was giving us shtt, often for good reason, it was really nice to have one national voice having our backs every week. That said, its odd he picked the first game after he inducted Ralph to slip and fall off the bandwagon.
  9. Just f.y.i., T.O. could use a grammar lesson. As could many people. "They need to better utilize ME and Lee" or "they need to better utilize Lee and ME." or, even better, "they need to better USE ME and LEE." "myself" is a reflexive pronoun. The only person who can use "myself" is "me." Not "you" or "they." I use myself. You use yourself. He uses himself. Etc. I cant use yourself, and you cant use myself. Many people say this to try to sound educated. But it really makes them sound worse. And "utilize" is just a fancy way to say "use." Again, tryin to sound more edumacated. Just my 45 cents. As to the substance, T.O. should have kept his mouth shout about Leodis. I'm sure most of the locker room was thinking he should not have brought the ball out, but why does T.O. take it upon himself to mention it. It should be handled in-house.
