  1. Read somewhere recently that Oakland and KC were the two top running teams last year (in some category). So your brand new run defense had better be great from day one, if you plan to just chalk up those two games as wins.
  2. was halfway through it. Then changed my mind. first, $8.75 for shipping and handling is a little high. USPS will ship up to 13 ounces for about $3.75. Even one pound Priority is about $6 or less depending on where you live. Second, it doesnt look especially "Buffalo Bills"-ish. Its just some guy's T-shirt. And I was never excited about the "lights out" theme anyway. Third, since I live in San Diego, i'm not likely to wear it around, seeming like i'm backing an ex-charger. I hate the chargers, and I want that to be clear and unambiguous.
  3. He's London Fletcher, 2.0. He'll make 125 tackles, but none behind the line of scrimmage. He'll recover a fumble or two, but never force one. He'll be in his hole more often than not, but he's not bringing any wood when he gets there. But we run a 3-4 and we have about 2.5 linebackers on the whole roster (poz, moats (.5), Merriman (.5) and our 3rd rounder (.5). So I guess we gotta keep him. I guess.
  4. Patrick Willis and Demarcus Ware. I think it would be nice to have at least one unit that other teams would have to actually gameplan for. If I take one linebacker and one corner or DL or OT, then I have just improved those units a little each. I want to dominate in at least one area.
  5. Evans (he wont just be running 9 routes anymore - or else) Zach Miller (I know i'm cheating, but so what?) Little Stevie (just too good and young. And is able to actually Get Open) No opinion on the 4th, so i'll reserve judgment.
  6. I didnt see the list. But I have said for years that wr Steve Smith (Panthers) looks just like L.L. Cool J. And since they have the same (albeit generic) last name, they could actually be related. And of course, I've never actually seen them together. Hmmmmmm.
  7. Great time watching the video. 1) It shows (by contrast) how hideous the most recent clown-suits were 2) It makes me wish they had just gone back to the SuperBowl era ones or, better, the true throwbacks, but I'll take what I got and be happy. 3) He keeps saying "Royal Blue" but I always thought the official colors were Red, White, and FLAG blue. Good find.
  8. Dass sum ol' bullshtt. But then again, maybe they wanted to prevent further leaks by not having a single one pre-made, except those at the unveiling.
  9. I kinda like the white/white. . The white top / blue bottom would look weird. Kinda like a Minotaur. Its gonna be fun to see the white/white in the snow, maybe at new england or chicago or gb or denver someday.
  10. Gotta say, I dont LOVE them. I like them. Ish. I am praising the gods that the old ones are gone. But I feel that the new ones are kinda non-descript. What's so special about them? They dont make a statement. If Jesus really loved me, he'da made them bring back the throwbacks. The ones on the madden leak looked more vibrant and exciting.
  11. Its up and working. Steve Tasker is hosting. Its a little choppy, but its far better than nothin'. Get over there !! No Uniforms yet as of 6:45. The Jills came out and pranced in new-ish colors. Looks like its an event, so no telling when the actual uniforms will be shown. The Tom Sartori band is now playing.
  12. http://www.buffalobills.com/news/uniform-launch.html This from PFT about an hour ago. The link is good, but there's no actual video feed yet, as of 6:10pm eastern. Unveiling is supposed to start at 6:35 pm eastern. UPDATE: Its 7:25pm and the live Stream has gone dead, with a "Thank you for watching" note.
  13. Sabres, now that they are wearing the correct uniforms. LOVE the sabres. Before, in that stupid black and red, I would have had to search my couch cushions for a coin to flip. (but for winning an actual championship, its Bills 495 times out of 10.)
  14. The Washington Redskins are now on the clock. They are old. They are slow. They have no quarterback, or running back, or wide receiver, or offensive line. And as Willie Parker told us, they have no heart. They are all about partying, not football. After Washington taking Luck, it will be Miami #2 (tough division where everybody else got better, and tough schedule, and they have no franchise players and no soul), Seahawks #3 (smoke and mirrors cant last forever), Cardinals #4 (no talent beyond Fitzgerald), Jaguars #5 (gonna take a while for Gabbert to get up to speed). Cleveland has heart, and a good GM. Tennessee has too much talent, and Cincinnati will be fine with Dalton and a good running game.
  15. You said "difference." You didnt say "positive difference." I was neutral on the other 4, but I voted for Cam Newton. I think he will make the biggest positive difference if he is able to learn the playbook and make plays. QB always has a huge impact if he can play. If he cannot play, he will make a huge difference for a franchise that swung and missed 2 years in a row (Clausen was their first pick last year, even though it was in the 2nd round), and that will be a huge negative difference for a team that sucks and needs a lot of help.
  16. Strongly disagree that Orakpo = 4 more wins last year. That's just crack. Very much disagree that Cutler is a franchise qb. To me, if you dont have a franchise qb, then you need 2 or 3 dominant groups (linebackers, D-line, O-line) in order to be competitive. Since we didnt pass up many franchise qbs (maybe Roethlisburger? Or Flacco (jury is still out on him)), then I'd like to know if you think we could have built a dominant unit or two instead of randomly picking a guy who isnt a bust every yer. And btw, I have been saying for about 10 years that if we just let Mel Kiper make our first round pick for the last 10 years we'd be awesome. But the Bills like to show that they're smarter than everyone else.
  17. He remembers what he did 10 seconds ago, just like it was yesterday.
  18. aaaaaah. That's some feel-good TV right there. Especially if you are old enuf to remember those days (late 30s or early 40s?).
  19. Not the most impressive cut-up tape I've ever seen of a linebacker. Its okay, I guess. But I did note one thing. I heard Charles Davis complain about Kelvin Sheppard. Said the only thing about Sheppard's tape is that he kept waiting for Sheppard to "drop the hammer" (or some similar metaphor) or "lay the wood" or something. Said Sheppard gets to where he needs to be, then just makes a regular play, not a dominating play. I instantly thought of London Fletcher, making 125 tackles, 124 of which are 5 yards down field. Batten doesnt seem to have that particular problem.
  20. I'm worried about Jasper in this regard. As I posted elsewhere yesterday, the video of him actually playing football makes it seem like he has some Gentle Giant in him. He coulda destroyed some defenders, but opted to just push them out of the way.
  21. Dont care, and I stopped reading at #10. These things are really just "Who Next Year's Top Prospects Are" posts, disguised as mock drafts just to get more readers. But how in the name of anything holy would the Bills pick 1, and the Redskins win enough games to pick at #10 ??? The bills would beat the 'Skins 7 or 8 out of 10 right now. Especially after Willie Parker's comments show how bad they are.
  22. I really like Jasper a lot. He sounds mature. Got good guidance from his cousin Artis Hicks. But when I think about losing 70 pounds since january, a mere 4 months, that's scary. Its like he could accidently put 20 back on without thinking about it. The best part is that he said he definitely wanted to be in Buffalo, gave some good reasons, and didnt sound like he was giving the stock answer that all draftees give. Me likey Jasper. A lot.
  23. Now THIS is the million dollar question. This is what we all want to know. Anybody have a link to him saying his own name?
