  1. I went for jefferson over 89.5 and godwin over 57.5 receiving yards for +255
  2. No. You are concerned about Murray who showed well last year but want Hunt who didn't. That doesn't really make sense. Additionally improving the rb room isnt the priority improving lb or ot is or at least should be. If Harris gets injured then maybe but I think that would lead to an elevation of evans or mims whichever makes the ps.
  3. Interest in Kareem Hunt is only from the ive heard of him camp. He clearly lost a atep last year and wasnt nearly as effective. Multiple teams have brought him in and nobody has signed him. This isnt the same kareem hunt the Browns originally signed.
  4. Cunningham looked electric running the ball. Have to imagine he will be on a ps somewhere would love it to be w the Bills.
  5. Always lost in this conversation is that benford has played very well. His contain and tackle on fields was a very sound and good play. I think elam found himself in the doghouse after the penalty last week. Hope it works as motivation.
  6. I agree that physical defense gives us problems but run first teams dont really. Its elite qbs that gives us problems imo. The Bills struggling with run defense is an old thing that isnt really true anymore. Buffalo finished 5th against the run last year after finishing 13 and 17th the year before. Look at what kc did to sf last year. I would argue dominant passing games give them fits which the Bills happen to have. See above. Also if shanny had allen he would have 40 million tied up in a qb and not be able to have the roster the niners currently have.
  7. The niners got to stack that talent bc they bottomed out. The Bills didnt have the luxury of drafting bosa bc they were in the playoffs. 3 times they missed the playoffs and got to draft premier talent. They got bosa, trey lance, and solomon thomas. Imagine if Beane went 1 for 3 on top 3 picks! Who in the nfc is as good as kc or even cincy for that matter? The road to the super bowl is way harder in the afc as others have pointed out. Funny you talk about blowing a 10 point lead in the super bowl as the legend of mahomes emerging. Do you say the same about 13 seconds? The op literally shows mcbeane has a better resume than sf lol.
  8. Trying not to overreact as its preseason and game 1 at that. Here are my impressions: I discounted the andy isabella signing but he has a different gear. I don't know if he will make the team but if he doesn't I'm intrigued enough to hope he lands on the ps. I like to think im a knowledgable fan and I pay attention to camp reports and everything Bills related. I had to double check who travon howard was but man that hit! That's football baby! Good clean shot that prevented the 2 pointer. Was a great play and was my official football is back play! I think Kyle Allen lost his spot today and Barkley moved to #2. Allen struggled mightily and Barkley was quick decisive and had a couple of nice throws. Cook look fast! I had high hopes for him this year and it looks like he can be not just a guy but a playmaker! Some real nice play designs today that created some wide open players. Specifically thinking about the td pass to shavers for example.
  9. This is my favorite prince song and an extended version due to technical difficulties. Ive lost count how many times ive gotten lost listening to this version! https://youtu.be/bm03wqLY3Nc
  10. I officiate hs soccer and have for the last 10 or so years. Money is not bad usually around $110 a game. The problem is the parents. No other way to put it. They think their kid is going pro no matter their actual skill level. They think you are out to get their kid and ruin his dreams. I have been approached coming off the field with a cell phone in my face even which is a pretty funny story. (If you want to hear it lmk) I will say though I generally don't have too much of a hard time. I don't listen to anything from the crowds and stay calm when talking w coaches. Don't be afraid to say you might have missed it just doing your best. After 10 years most coaches know me and know how I officiate. I am a spirit of the rule and not letter of the law kind of guy so I tend to let the kids play and only call what is necessary. Most of my board is retired guys and college kids. Im a rarity in my early 40s and there is only one other guy my age who does it. You will likely start as a probationary official which means you will do modified and some lower stress games (think very good team vs bad or 2 bad teams). There is no real way to do the job other than to do the job. Have fun with it though, guys that take it to serious suck to ref with and burn out quick.
  11. This is why I was so in love with the idea of drafting a te. If Kincaid is being covered by a db and the other team is in nickel, he has an advantage blocking, and they can run the ball. If they cover him with a lb, he has an advantage, and they can pass the ball. This move really allows the offense to always be in an advantageous position. Just spitballing but I love the idea of 2 wideouts on the same side, Knox inline, and Kincaid solo by himself. That would really put stress on the defense and make them make some tough decisions. It would also reveal man vs zone and dictate the coverage. Just so much to do with 12 personnel creatively. Now for a 4th and 8, I still love 12 personnel because of Josh's threat to run. If nobody is open he can pick up 8 yards easily with some good blocking in front of him. One side Diggs runs an in route Knox chip and release into the flat where Diggs vacated Other side: Davis goes deep Kincaid in the cleared out space underneath Davis out route at the sticks. Josh tucks and runs if it presents itself. First Down Bills.
  12. As others have mentioned pre 2008 the qb position stats were different. Also it would be interesting to see fumbles added in as I dont recall it being as much of an issue for manning as it is w allen. Hopefully at the end of his career though Allen's thought of in the same tier as Manning especially those super bowl wins!
  13. The NFL is set up to be offensive minded. This year's loss to me was because the offense couldn't move the ball and mustered 10 points. Do you realize that only 3 out of 13 games in the entire playoffs did the winning team score less than 27 points? Sure the defense could have played better, you will get no argument from me. However the loss to me falls on the shoulders of the offense. Allen did not play well but he seems to get a pass. It's hard for me to hold KC lighting the defense up against McD but won't argue the point that the defense has underperformed. It's hard to speak on preparation but execution is certainly able to be questioned especially with the 13 seconds fiasco. add on for Dungy in the playoffs: Dungy had a 21-7 loss to the packers Dungy had a 21-3 loss to the Eagles Dungy had a 31-9 loss to the Eagles 41-0 as you mentioned He wasn't as squeaky clean as you remembered 🙂
  14. To your last paragraph: The point of my question is to show that they haven't underachieved as you said in the original post I responded to. Winning the super bowl requires a tremendous amount of luck. The Bills have run up against and lost to better teams. That isnt underachieving. Lost in all the 13 seconds game that people havent been able to move on from is that the Chiefs lost at home the next week to the Bengals. Clearly the chiefs and bills were very evenly matched. Why is it a guarantee that not only the Bills would have beat the Bengals but then also the Rams. You complain about 4-5 in the playoffs. You are missing so much context here. 4 wins in the last 6 years by a team is the 8th most. Since Allen came into his own in 2020 they are tied for the 5th most wins in the playoffs. The only teams above them are super bowl winners and cincy. The reality is burrow and mahomes are every bit as good as Allen. The afc is probably in the middle of the best qb era ever. Those 3 and herbert, rodgers, tua, lamar, and trevor lawrence. Add in deshaun watson and russel wilson. That's 10 good to great qbs in the conference. If you'd like to play a game, name any coach in the nfl and I can knock them in the exact way you are knocking McDermott. The fact is the Bills have been one of the best teams in the nfl over his tenure. Winning the super bowl is the final bar to clear but there is no real reason to think he can't do it other than he hasn't done it which is silly.
  15. I'll ask for a 3rd time... what year should they have won the super bowl? Which year did they lose in the playoffs to an inferior team?
  16. I do. Online isn't the real world. Twitter, facebook, even this place. Anonymity gives people courage to be douchebags and whiners. When I interact with people in person, I find them to be just as pleasant. Even if we have different political ideologies, sports rooting interests, or whatever the outrage flavor of the week is, I still enjoy being around the people I enjoy being around. People just need to step away from the keyboard and realize that online interaction isn't as authentic as in person interactions. Agreed. It may be because I was a kid during the super bowl runs and I didn't realize how special it was, or maybe the drought made me appreciate this success more, or maybe it was a rearrangement of my priorities after starting a family. Whatever caused it, I love watching this team. I was emotionally drained at the end of last year. The 13 second fiasco sucked but I immediately moved on with my life. This is without question the 2nd best stretch of the entire super bowl era for this team. I'm not going to miss out enjoying the ride.
  17. Exactly! I have asked in 2 different threads which playoff game did McD lose to a team that wasn't at least as talented and nobody has answered. He wins the games he should and there are plenty of coaches including Reid who have very poor performances. Here are some Andy Reid stats framed in the mcd bashing style: In a 10 year span from 09-18 he had 2 playoff wins and missed the playoffs 3 times in that span. Quick math had him at 2-7 for those 10 years. He got bounced by the cowboys 34-14 in the wild card round in 09. How about his own 27-10 loss to a buccaneers team he had beat by 10 in the regular season in 02. For the first 20 years of his career he had 0 super bowl wins. I could do this for every coach in the Nfl.
  18. I'd prefer a different less abstract question for the mcdermott bashers. Which year did the Bills lose in the playoffs where they should have won the super bowl? Even the 13 seconds game. That was a divisional game they still had 2 more games to win and the Chiefs lost the next week at home to the Bengals. So instead of hearing how he blew it I would really like to know which year was THE year
  19. Jags have a reall easy argument for having a better wr crew than the Bills do. Paired with an offensive coach who can perhaps help him learn a different style. Perhaps he felt it was a better situation. I have no idea why someone choosing to live in florida over buffalo is that hard for you to believe. Or maybe the Bills didn't like the progress their young receivers were making and moved in a different direction. There are a million reasons it may have happened. Why so negative?
  20. Why do you keep calling the jags bottom dwellers? They have a great young qb and made the divisional round last year after winning their division.
  21. I love Josh Allen. He might already be my favorite player ever that said.... Mahomes is clearly on a tier of his own. His floor is hosting the afc championship game. From there I have Allen and Burrow as the next 2 guys. I cant argue against anyone who puts Burrow over Allen or vice versa. Last year though the injury hampered Josh imo and Burrow had a better year. Unsurprisingly (albeit disappointingly) to me it was Burrow v Mahomes in the afc championship game. Which again goes to my point, the Bills were not a better team than either the Bengals or the Chiefs by the end of the year. Injuries took a lot of talent off the field. That was a much bigger factor than McDermott imo.
  22. I will defend and support McD every time. He is the winningest coach in team history by win % in the super bowl era. He has the 2nd most wins in the playoffs and regular season. Last year the Bills lost to the Bengals. Setting aside your homer glasses, does anyone really think the Bills at that point were as talented as the Bengals? Preseason, I think they were. By the time the game was played the Bengals were the better team. Burrow is at least as good as Allen. The receivers are much better than what the Bills have. The RBs for the Bengals were better. When you switch to defense, the Bills were missing Hyde and Von, they had a banged up Poyer, they were starting their 3rd string safety. As much some posters want you to believe the Bills should have won the game and therefore McD blew it, I disagree. The 13 seconds is a tough pill to swallow. Not kicking it squib style and forcing a few seconds off the clock is certainly on coaching. That said, those 2 teams were even and 1 has Mahomes who is BY FAR the best QB in the game. I will grant this to those that are upset with McD but as you will see that is the only one. They made it to the AFC championship game. With a beaten up Diggs and Beasley and lost to the trio of Mahomes, Kelce, and Hill. I think at this time the Chiefs had a better, more experienced team. The Chiefs were 14-2 and at home for this game. The Texans game, again on the road, against a team with a better record. Perhaps you remember the black shirts coming out and changing the ruling? No matter your thoughts whether it should have been a td (wrong imo) or a safety (correct imo) points were taken off the board. Or perhaps you remember the screw job on the block call that negated what would have likely led to the game winning fg? Perhaps like me, you don't want to blame the refs and instead want to compare teams. Josh was still not quite Josh (Sugar High Josh anyone?) and his best receiver that day was Duke freaking Williams. Can we talk about the tank year? I remember the pit feeling when I saw that Watkins and Darby had been traded. Remember early in the year when people were asking if the Bills would lose to Alabama? Or when a player retired at halftime week 2? They didn't even finish last in the division. Lastly he coached a team that hadn't been to the playoffs in 17 years, a team that was projected for 6 wins, to 9 wins and the first playoffs in 17 years. All in all, he has had 1 losing season in his career. He has yet to lose a playoff game in upset fashion (one where he had the better team going in). You can hold 13 seconds against him, however all this ridiculous talk of him not being good enough is just based off of how last season ended. The discounting of the team watching a teammate LITERALLY DIE ON THE FIELD in front of them is unbelievable to me. I'm just a fan who was watching at home and it was very jarring. Seeing the players and how they performed after, it was clearly an issue for them as well. Here are some numbers: There are only 9 active coaches who have won a super bowl. 5 of those coaches won theirs 10+ years ago. There are only 5 active coaches who have been to at least 2 super bowls. 3 of them have only been to 2. There are only 2 active coaches who have won 2 or more super bowls. They had Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes. I love Allen but he isn't on their level. Winning the bowl is hard and takes a lot of luck
  23. I think the NBA lends itself to following players more than other leagues because its 1 out of 5. Basketball and football are my 2 sports and im a lakers fan because of magic. I will always follow and root for them over every other team that said there are a ton of players I love to watch play. I won't say I root for them but I enjoy watching them. Kd, jokic, jamal murray, steph curry, lebron among others are all a blast to watch play. There are also players I hate the way they play like Harden comes to mind for 1. To the op i think people care too much about others rooting interest. I don't care if people switch teams. I would never blame a commanders fan for switching. Or even a pats fan following brady and rooting for tb too. It's all entertainment in the end.
  24. Is that a chainsaw in the middle of this video? Lol
