This was my first year as a bills fans. I was in my friends living room watching this. I think I was in 3rd grade but its crazy how vivid this memory is. 1 haven't seen mentioned is this titans game christams eve 2006. Robert royal inexplicably didn't get his feet down on a great trick play, bills elected not to kick the 45 yard fg and put the ball in jps hand on 4th and 5. Pick.

I am impressed by the Lions. One of my friends is a big fan so I try to watch when possible. They have a much better oline and a much better rb room than the Bills. Some of that is due to high draft picks being spent and they also made out like bandits when they traded Stafford. I have no ill will towards Johnson or the Lions I just think as you mentioned in a previous post, people don't live and die with other teams failures so they don't seem as big. That shotgun run on 4th and 5 would spark an enormous thread on TSW for example even though it worked.

Johnson has had some amazing games called this year. I'm not knocking him buuuuuuttttt.... (the rest of my post is tongue in cheek) He did call a shotgun run on 4th and 5 yesterday. It did work but oh boy I could imagine this place if dorsey did the same. The Lions offense has scored exactly 1 more point than the Bills through 9 games. The opening game, the Lions offense scored 14 points against the Chiefs. A pick 6 was the difference. The Ben Johnson led offense scored 6 points vs the Ravens. The team strangely mirrors the fandom. I am NOT saying the fans are responsible for this. However it seems like many here aren't enjoying this season either. Everyone is so doom and gloom.

To the bolded I have long ascribed to the theory that if the defense holds the opposing offense to 20 or fewer points, they have done their job. (The league average ppg hasn't been below 20 since 1993). I have also thought if the offense scores more than 24 they have done their job. Strong heat map vibes I know (if you know you know) By that measure the defense is 5-4 and the offense is also 5-4. The offense hasn't won a game where the defense didn't do their job but the Giants game sticks out as one where the defense did their job and the Bills won. Just as easy as you say get some turnovers (flukey and always streaky) I would say the offense needs to score some points. Add in that the defense is missing 3 of its top players, I think they are doing as well as can be expected. The offense is lagging and to me at least, seems to be the issue. I'd like to see a more uptempo offense as I think that is the best fix. When they did that to start the Bucs game, it was the best the Bills looked outside of some 4th quarters.

What have mcdaniel and oconnell won? Neither have been to a championship game. Neither have even won a playoff game. Mcdaniel has 1 win against a team with a winning record. 13 seconds really did a number on this fandom. Many people just can't move on and it is coloring everything they think about with McDermott.

Also threw on everett over 27.5 yards receiving. I like everett in this game as he should be a good outlet for herbert. Jets give up the least amount of yards to wrs but 27th most to tes. Im 14-2 since october 22 in this thread! I started betting my singles inside my parlays for the first time and it seems to be working out for me. I knew I'd been hot but didn't realize it was that good. Hope it continues!

I have a hot take.... The bills are missing a stud player at each level of their defense and therefore aren't as good as they were at the beginning of the year. You point out the trend is new and it is because it happened directly after the defense lost 3 of its best players! The giants scored 9 points. Can we stop grouping them in with "defensive struggles" The buccaneers game came down to a desperation heave. They didnt give up a long sustained drive. Nobody is handing off play calls at the end of the game. No hc is handing off time out calling. Those to me are wild ideas with zero basis in reality.
