the Daboll/Schoen regime - on the brink, it seems
Malazan replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was a 4 year deal so saying "after only 2 years" is a little silly when they have $47.1 million in dead money this year and $22.2 million in 2025. So taking a 70 million dollar cap hit (or almost 50%) of a contract is structured as a 'deal you can get out' in anything, but the most literal of terms. Sure, pretty much every contract in the NFL can be 'gotten out of' if you want to take a ridiculous cap hit. -
the Daboll/Schoen regime - on the brink, it seems
Malazan replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, it's probably not true because it was a deal they couldn't get out of until now and even then they're still eating a big ole bag of **** with it... Also, they went against the owners wishes with Barkley and Schoen was literally quoted saying he wasn't gonna pay Barkley so their "45 million dollar QB" can hand off to him. The giants have gotten worse each successive year since they were "saddled with Gettleman's roster". These narratives that Shoen and Daboll are just unfortunate victims of a meddling owner and circumstance are wild. -

This is what I think makes Beane a good GM. He doesn't let the mistakes box him in and keeps as much flexibility as he can. -
Without a lombardi to go with it.. no one should care

yes, Chief's fans are taking their win with their usual grace and class.

I have no idea if you're serious.

This is still going? There's more uproar about the uproar than the original uproar.

Desperation. I said it the thread on OL.. you can find a trade for a skill position like WR.. you can even find a competent DE.. you will have to use the jaws of life to pry a competent OL off a team in-season.

Not that part.

I believe it was the sports broadcasting act of 1961 that gives the NFL an anti-trust exemption and has a specific provision that no games can be televised on Friday nights or Saturdays from the second Friday in September until the second Saturday in December. So they'd lose their anti-trust exemption by playing on Saturdays.

The Browns are doing their best to give the Bills higher seeding

They seem more dedicated to the Bills playoffs seeding than their own.- 67 replies

Terrance Gray a candidate for Jets GM job?
Malazan replied to vtnatefootball11's topic in The Stadium Wall
This has been answered a lot. Daboll and McDermott are not on great terms. So you can never say never, but it's very likely neither one is interested in a reunion. Even if they were on good terms.. Daboll never being able to figure out how to have even a semblance of a running game would likely generate little interest in a return. -
Cooper gives us more of something we lacked than Hopkins did. That's not to say Hopkins wouldn't help. I think Hopkins gives the Chiefs more of something they needed.

Woody Johnson suggested benching Rodgers in September
Malazan replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
All this information is coming from an article that is poorly sourced and seems like a PR piece for Joe Douglas. Why would Johnson want Rodgers benched then turn around and be the driving force of acquiring Adams for Rodgers just a couple weeks later? -
turns out America likes watching Allen-Mahomes games
Malazan replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall
Taylor wasn't there. She had a concert in Toronto. -
The Jets also have ~100 million in players / void years / etc that will likely be dead cap to deal with next season.
-
They already did that. Double was quiet fired for some time, but the Jets found out that potential GM candidates won't talk to them when they still have a GM on staff He was apparently already looking at real estate in Baltimore like a week ago
