I'm also a big Edmunds fan. The NE game was awful, although the entire defense was awful against the run. I put more stock in PFF, and their year grad is not fantastic on Edmunds. That said, I think he played very well for a 20 year old rookie MLB. In terms of keeping him at MLB or not, it really depends on who is available in the draft (White?) or FA. If a bona-fide solid MLB is available, perhaps Edmunds will be even more imposing at OLB. Can he play MLB, I think he can. Is it the best spot for him, I have no idea. Good rookie year though.

Which AAF Team to root for.

Not sure how this league is setup. But if Birmingham has first shot at Bills players, count me in. -
Interesting and optimistic point about our final record
RyanC883 replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we can keep up our defensive numbers up, or improve with more sacks, and run the ball better, (can't be worse), I think we can def win the division. That Pats** dynasty ends this year ! -
Final Tremaine Edmunds numbers, shoutout from Bills PR
RyanC883 replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great first year. I could still see him as an OLB if White (LB-LSU) falls to us. Not saying Edmunds can't play MLB, but if he's an OLB I see the pass disruption continuing with increased sacks--could be a double-digit guy. -
Bills fire WR Coach Terry Robiskie
RyanC883 replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought that given the overall lack of talent that Robiskie did a decent job, esp. with Foster. But perhaps that wasn't him, and/or Dabol wants a different person. -
So realistically, who do you want at 9?
RyanC883 replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1. Devin White. Dude is a beast. Lets Edmunds kick out to OLB. LB corp. has the chance to be the best in the league in a year or two with Edmunds, White and Milano. And then draft WR in Round 2. 2. J. Williams (OL) Alabama. Don't see him lasting until 9. If he does, he'd be hard to pass up. I'd do this if White or Williams are unavailable. -
I totally agree. And Daboll seems to be a fit for this offense the way he moves guys around. Zay was wide open for the TD because the WR routes confused a decent Miami secondary.

Quenton Nelson - Indy OG ...#6 overall was worth it
RyanC883 replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree, some great options in round 2-3. Whoever we get, at whatever position, needs to be a disruptor that other teams need to plan around. Allen is turning into that. You pick top 15, that's what you need. I think by the time we pick, the "disruptors" remaining will be either CB, WR, DL. I see us addressing the OL in FA, IMO. Too important to hope for a rookie to get it. -
I'll take a shot at the 2019 offense FA's
RyanC883 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
we do need height, although fast height. I like DJax because he alleges that no QB can outthrow him. plus, him, T. Williams, and Foster and Zay would be hard to cover. I'd take T. Williams if we go tall. -
I'll take a shot at the 2019 offense FA's
RyanC883 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
WR: I'd take Kevin White on a prove-it deal, T. Williams would be nice, I'd rather have Golden Tate given past production. Chris Conley I'm lukewarm on. I'd also consider Eli Rodgers from the Steelers as another cheap WR. I enjoy the defense of Bell, but he hesitates then hits the hole. Here, that will result in -5 yards every carry. I'd take Coleman in FA, and draft someone who fits a Bell profile. Bell was a great beneficiary of the Steelers fantastic O-line. (look at Sanders, who never was a true RB before, lighting it up behind that line). Love this. I'll add my suggestions above! -
McBeane will build a Wr Core of 2s & 3s.
RyanC883 replied to BillsFan1988's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
we just need a monster OL and a fantastic RB. Only way this works is to have a real game changing back. We won't be getting Bell (and he needs a great line w/ his hesitation move); but Coleman in FA would be nice. I also think Golden Tate or D. Jax would be great fits here. -
I could see Coleman (ATL) in FA; or via draft: http://www.drafttek.com/2019-NFL-Draft-Prospect-Rankings/Top-College-RBs-2019-Draft.asp Benny Snell JR. looks like a nice grab, but may go too high.

Kyle Williams: Officially Retires

time to take BPA if it's DL or White (LB-LSU) if available when we draft. -
Leslie Frazier has never been a good DC
RyanC883 replied to Billever76's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not sure it's the scheme, so much as the lack of consistent difference-makers in the front 7 (minus Milano). Who does an opposing team have to game plan around? The secondary, but not really anyone in the front 7 besides perhaps Milano. -
Rating the Rookie QBs - What the Numbers Show
RyanC883 replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd say Allen is having the 2nd best season (behind Mayfield). And I did not want him before the draft. Pleasantly surprised with his decision making improvement during the season. Allen has the worst supporting cast of any of these guys. Rosen has a freaking HOF WR and great RB who should be in his prime. Jackson has a fantastic D that makes plays, and a good stable of RB's and a decent WR cast, and two good TE's. Allen has no TE or RB help. -
this is fun, I'll give it a try. Added DL to the mix as we clearly need help there. Can't sack Broken Back Bradford, and then get gashed by the Pats: It took more than half a season to sort out the QB situation, but I think the Bills finally settled the #1 and #2 spots for 2019. The biggest question mark to me is: QB? Can Josh Allen develop some touch on his passing game? Needs to work on touch in short-game, also needs WR's who do not routinely drop passes. It's getting absurd. Also, a young QB's best friends are a good TE and RB. We have neither. I hope Allen develops the touch, it does look like his decision making has vastly improved during the year. RB? Will Shady take a pay cut if he wants to stay? It is clear Shady lost a step and the run game took a hit. I think an incentive based 2-3 year contract with 2-3m base would work. I don't think he will get big bucks on the open market, especially when RB's like Ford, Murphy and Ivory racked up more YPC. It's clear we need a new #1 RB. Do we go after a FA like CJ Anderson, Tevin Coleman, Mark Ingram, David Johnson, TJ Yeldon or do we draft one in Rds 2-4? I'd try to trade Shady if we can get a 3rd-7th. Completely clear the contract. Bring in Coleman, or Ingram (Johnson likely too expensive). Also draft one in Rds. 2-4. WR? Do we draft trade down and/or draft Metcalf, AJ or Marquis Brown, Nkeal Harry, or wait until the 2nd round to find a WR like UB's Johnson? I think we pickup a WR in FA and the draft. In FA I'd target Golden Tate, J. Brown (Ravens); P. Dorsett; Geronimo Allison, or Eli Rodgers. To me, this seems like a deep WR draft. I'd go BPA in the first round. That might mean DT, fine, we need help there. It could be an ILB like Devin White from LSU. Also okay, we can move Edmunds outside and hopefully generate more pass-rush. I'd also take an OT if that's BPA. I can't see WR being BPA. I think one of the Browns (Oklahoma or Miss State) will be available early 2nd round. I think Johnson might be available in the 3rd. OL? How many starters can we legitimately replace? The OL has been pretty bad at times and other times they seem to be serviceable. It's obvious we need upgrades, but how many and from where? I'd be ok with taking the best Tackle off the board with our first pick. But if may be a case of BPA vs need when we are on the clock. With so many holes to fill, which one's are first? I think Ducasse, Miller and Sirles are gone. Groy, McDermitt, Boettger, are on the bubble for depth depending on how we draft and how they improve, but my guess is goodbye. That leaves us with Dawkins, Bodine, Teller and Mills should stay. Ideally Bodine and Mills would be depth backups and we sign Matt Paradis -C, Daryl Williams- RT Mason or Marpet - G Love the OL plan. We def need a new center. Paradis would be ideal, a great addition for a young QB. Adding a RT also frees up room in the draft to take one in the 2nd or 3rd round if the BPA is a DL/LB in the 1st. We need impact players everywhere, and it would be great to be able to use FA to plug the OL holes and draft BPA--not be reaching. TE? Can we sign a #1 TE? Damn do we need a TE or what. Clay is done. Croom can't hold on to the ball and Thomas can't catch. I say we sign Jared Cook, Jesse James or Delaine Walker, then draft another TE in Rd's 3-4. I like Eifert but his health is a major concern. I'd take a flier for an incentive driven, low risk contract. I think we sign both Jesse James and Eifert. I think we can afford both. 2 great TE's to help a young QB. DL: not enough impactful plays from this bunch. If the BPA in any round is an impactful DL, or even LB, then make the pick. In fact, looking at draft boards, it's likely our first pick could be DL or LB. That about sums up my questions for the offense. Sadly, there's so much to do, I'm not sure how much attention we can give to the defense. I think we can add to the defense in the draft. I think we fill the OL during FA, bring in a WR, RB, and then add to those during the draft. I think we will be in position to go BPA in the draft. But fixing the offense and giving Allen a running game and people who can consistently catch a ball will be huge. Lockett or J. Brown would be fantastic additions. Guys with good hands and speed. Pair with Foster, grab a "traditional" #1 in the draft.

some good takeaways. I think Castillo and Shady are gone. And I think most of our OL will be backups or practice squad next season. I'd also be cool with drafting Devin White for ILB, and putting Edmunds outside. That would be quite the trio: Milano, Edmunds, and White. and it's not hard to attack Edmunds with runs given the disaster that our DT's have been this season. No push at all, except them getting pushed backwards.

Report: Jets to pursue Jim Harbaugh for HC
RyanC883 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see Harbaugh leaving Michigan. But go ahead and pursue him, then miss out on all the other coaching candidates who are snatched up in the meantime!
