  1. that's why it would be on a "prove-it" deal
  2. Here is how this could happen in 2019. A few stretches here. The most likely, believe it or not, appears to be at the WR position if Foster plays the whole season like he did after week 10 last year. DE: Lawson, if he continues to improve and starts getting sacks in addition to batting down the ball. (or FA Tre Flowers or Demarcus Lawrence) 3 LB: Milano, Edmunds, Alexander, or White (rookie from LSU if drafted and BPA) 2 OL: Paradis (C from FA); Trent Brown (OT--FA) QB: Josh Allen. Improves intermediate passing, has better WR corp that does not drop balls. WR: Foster (whole season like his 2nd half last year, and he's a pro-bowl player) RB: Ingram or Coleman in FA; or someone from the draft with improved OL play. Or Shady with improved OL. ST: Punter Corey Bojorquez. Can pin the ball inside the 20 and kick long balls.
  3. this is a great signing, IMO. The Bills can get rid of Groy, who looked lost. We now have a swing backup. We can still go after one of the top 2 centers in FA, along with drafting and OT or two. Not bad for a backup center who could start at other parts on the line. You need depth at center.
  4. well, at least the Jets have NO center. hahaahahah. We have 3, albeit best as backup centers.
  5. I'd take Thomas on a prove-it deal.
  6. D. Johnson would be nice. Chubb unlikely to be available.
  7. I'm not sure why the game is setup with one from each position. Why not 3 from the 5 million slot? Or any combo that gets to 15 mill? Going with the one player in each, I get: Paradis; Jessie James; Trent Brown; Jordan Phillips; and Cole Beasley. Going just to 15 in any manner: Paradis (5 million); Jessie James (4 million); T. Williams (4 million) Adam Humphreys (1 million); Jordan Phillips (1 million);
  8. Humphries, Williams and Patterson. Def on Humphries, because we need someone with great hands to catch the short-intermediate routes.
  9. McVay was awful. A few 3rd and 2's, and he has Goff rolling out and passing. Hand it off, and go for it on 4 and 1. Or have a designed QB sneak. I kept thinking that JA wins that game.
  10. Risner is getting some 1st day love in some mocks. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/news/2019-nfl-mock-draft-dolphins-pick-dwayne-haskins-raiders-land-two-pass-catchers/
  11. I'd be fine with this. I think we would not only get an extra 1st, but another 2nd or 3rd. In that case, you still get a great WR and OT in the 1st round. Then use the extra pick on a RB. You could end up with Hockenson (TE) and Brown (OT); or Brown and Brown (OT and WR); or Risner (OT) and Metcalf (WR); or perhaps still grab Lawrence (DL) and a OL. Lots of great players available there.
  12. I think Croom improves next year, but I'd completment him by cutting clay and getting an all-around TE in Jesse James in FA. Not a fan of drafting TE's high.
  13. Why not. Seems to fit what Daboll likes to do, and on a cheap vet contract it would allow us to also grab Tate in FA, along with a Center and DT/Edge.
  14. Some interesting background here about the guy who made the graphic. https://247sports.com/nfl/pittsburgh-steelers/Article/Fired-KDKA-employee-explains-Tom-Brady-cheater-graphic-128523496/ 1. He is a Brady fan, or so he claims! 2. He was originally told he was getting a written warning, then later, terminated. 3. There is a go-fund-me page. After he gets a job, he is donating the money to a charity in Brady's name. 4. IMO, some thin-skinned people out there to fire someone over this.
  15. I totally agree. If you want to blame other things for your benching, fine, I totally get that. But saying it's because of your skin color is not only excuse making, but calling your coaches and fans racist. IMO, calling someone a racist is a serious accusation.
  16. Bortles also made it to the AFC Championship game and played well in the playoffs. Oh, and he played for the Jags. Bortles was also a 1st round pick....they are ALWAYS given more leeway (see JaMarcus Russel).
  17. I think we target a Vet Center in FA, and still draft tackles. The Center is the "QB" of the OL, and can also help Allen and the rookie OT's. I'd go BPA at 9, then trade back into the 1st for an OT.
  18. well said, esp the part I bolded. In NO WAY does it excuse what he did, or get him off the hook for any penalties he faced at the time. But if he was charged (and he should have been) and he did his time, he should have a chance to redeem himself.
  19. Massive overreaction by KDKA TV. A written warning should have sufficed. Firing a guy for something that most people found both hilarious and factually true (he was suspended 4 games for deflategate) is overboard.
  20. I believe Birmingham is somehow associated with the Bills. Gets first pick of Bills and all AFC East players.
  21. I'd love to get a top/day 1 starter at 9 (BPA) and trade back into the first and grab Risner.
  22. I think Risner is available in Rd. 2, or later in Rd. 1. Ideally the Bills get both. They got their QB and MLB last year. They have a way to get the guys they want.
  23. does he has a slower 40 time? someone who started a thread yesterday said he looked slow. Could be nice to grab one more fast guy, and a big Kelvin Benjamin type--but one who can actually, you know, catch the ball!
  24. Awesome write-up. I"d be happy trading back for Risner, but I could see a stud being there at 9 who is too hard to pass up. This draft does seem to have a lot of what we need (DL, OL, and WR).
  25. if we fix the OL by that time, I could see it as a possibility. I could also see a team wanting him, while other teams want a QB, and Bean swinging a trade to go back a few picks and getting more picks. Taking a WR and a different RB in RD. 1.
