  1. please people, forgive Tom...look at what he has to put up with.
  2. I did see that article, and while he makes some good points, it smacks of a bitter SU alumni who is upset that Marrone is leaving. And of course he has his work cut out for him. Is there a hire that wouldn't have had his work cut out for him with this organization? This guy seems to be biased in his opinion. He feels Marrone should have stayed and finished what he started.
  3. " Man this was easier when I knew the other team's plays"
  4. How many superbowls have they won since they were caught cheating?
  5. Yet you renewed when Gailey was hired?
  6. You would write a sarcastic response no matter what
  7. What does apples have to do with oranges?
  8. Then the conspiracy must run pretty wide since many different football people really liked this hire. I don't think the Bills would spend so much time trying to convince everyone that they made a good hire. They would let the proof be in the pudding as one might say. If Marrone is a good hire or not, it will become readily apparent soon enough. I could see some of the media trying to undermine the hire because the Bills are not being as forthcoming as they might like. So, yes, there may be a conflict of interest. But the conflict might be with various media people.
  9. You really believe that this hire was nothing more than a marketing ploy? From my view, I see Marrone as a hard working coach, who has paid his dues and turned an absolutely horrible situation in Syracuse into a very respectable program. He has NFL experience. He has a solid repuation and has actually played the game too. Who would have been a better hire? Lovie Smith, who was fired because his offenses in Chicago have absolutley stunk? Maybe they just hired the guy who was most impressive. Maybe they hired the guy who was not a retread, who was not fired, who seems ready to take the next step in a promising career. How extensive a search should the Bills have made? When they found the right man, should they have said, 'we'll get back to you" so that they couldn't be accused as not being extensive enough in their search? Take the chance that some other team would scoop him up? it woud be stupid to find the guy who you think is right, to then wastes time on a fruitless search just for the sake of appearances.Time will tell if this was a good hire or not. I for one am giving them the benefit of doubt based on Marrome's resume.
  10. Why couldn't Hackett take on Bill B? It's not Bill B who beats us most of the time . It's Tom Brady. So I'm more concerned with how Pettine will handle Tom Brady. Look what Bill B was before Tom Brady came along. Not much of a head coach from what I can remember. How did it go in Cleveland? I suspect the same is true for Hackett. If he ends up with a franchise quarterback, he will be considered a very good coach. Also, why would I want Norv Turner as my offensive coordinator? He 's a retread if there ever was one. He did a horrible job in San Diego even with a franchise quarterback. I do admit that Horton is a good defensive coordinator, but why would I be jealous when we got one that may actually be better in Pettine.
  11. I agree, it's funny. I don't agree with Hitler though. I think These are good hires this time.
  12. What if the guy drafted is not ready to start? What then? They can't just throw him in there if he's not ready to start. If not Alex Smith, fine, but someone needs to be brought in.
  13. I like Tyler Wilson, but I like the idea of bringing in someone like Alex Smith to start until he is ready
  14. Russ Brandon, went out and interviewed some top candidates, made his decision and quickly got his man. This is very unlike past hirings. Usually the Bills wait until every other team has hired someone and then they go out ang get a retread former head coach nobody wanted. Marone is going to turn the culture of this losing franchise around.
  15. what about Tyler Wilson from Arkansas and Alex Smith until he's ready?
  16. OK so they cut Fitz,, , now what? They have no quarterbacks on this team. As far as I know Jackson will be a free agent and Thigpen is not capable and also a free agent. They draft a quarterback , but there is no guarantee he will not struggle as many rookies do. There just doesn't seem to be a quality qb draft this year. They would need to get one or two quarterbacks in free agency. As much as I hate the idea, Vick might need to be looked at as a possible addition to this team. Maybe a trade is possible, such as Flynn but what will be asked for in return? Look at the Qbs that are going to be free agents this year and you won't be impressed at all except for Flacco, and I'm pretty sure he will be signed by Baltimore. The Bills can't just draft a young qb and hand him the reigns unless he proves he deserves it,like Wilson did in Seattle. I don't think Fitz is the long term answer either, but what are the alternatives?
  17. Ed Kilgore said earlier that he believed that Gailey had a better than 50% chance of being retained. Take that for what it's worth.
  18. It doesn't make any sense to You BECAUSE IT MAKES NO SENSE.
  19. I hear the Bills will offer a first and second for Sanchez if the Jets take Mario Williams off their hands
  20. I was there and almost left at halftime. Thanks to my wife and brother, I stayed. What a great game and a great memory.
  21. Hopefully the Jets are motivated to win on Sunday
