Defensive Tackle: Is it the Players or the System?
CSBill replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is a legitimate and fair question. I’m starting to lean towards a systems problem. But I don’t have enough defensive line acumen to know exactly what the problem is; other than, it seems to be perpetually none-effective. -
Agree. That is a good comparison.

Jonathan Martin and Incognito Bullygate back in the news
CSBill replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
"His name cleared"???? It would take an army of lawyers to do that. I'm not a fan of Martin, but I appreciate that he owned his part in "Bullygate," but Ingonito (or the others) was no innocent victim here. -
This is a logical fallacy (i.e., a polite philosophical way of saying "a stupid argument") because most coaches never get to stay that long. If anything, this information recognizes that they are good great coaches whom their organizations believe(d) in. Coaches are only as good as the players they have. Coaching only takes you so far; at some point, talent plus coaching takes over. All these coaches were blessed to have been given the time to allow their talent to catch up with their coaching. Where would Andy Reid be today without Patrick Mahomes????? Yes, the Bills have one of the best QBs in football, but they have needs. Wasn't that the narrative all off-season? This team was in danger of not making the playoffs; they were done as AFC East Kings, it's a rebuild, etc., etc. An alternative narrative, and I believe the correct one, is that McDermott got more out of this team than anyone expected, and for them to go as far as they did and to be that close is a testament to his coaching ability.

Free Agents we like for the 2025 Bills?

Of these three, Slaton would make the most difference for us. Beef on the D-line is a huge need (and the price is right). -

I haven't thought about it much. This has been a much more productive week since last Sunday, as this is the first time I have looked at anything on TBD. This was supposed to be a rebuilding year--lost players, salary cap hits, etc.--but it turned out to be a year where expectations probably outran reality. Our team was surprisingly very good, and with a few days of reflection, we got the most, really, more, out of this team than we should have. We got a little spoiled and greedy. And that is not bad. But because of that, we can too easily forget what was actually accomplished--which was a lot. The future is bright. I will leave it to Marv to move us forward: "A LITTLE I AM HERT, BUT NOT YET SLAIN. I'LL JUST LIE DOWN AND BLEED A WHILE, THEN I'LL RISE AND FIGHT AGAIN."

Talk about overreaction Monday--this poll. Maybe we don't deserve nice things.

Yes, it was a big swing and worth the risk. But we missed with him—time to move on.

Lost in the sauce: Outstanding Performances vs KC
CSBill replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know this is not the spirit of this thread, and many will disagree, but if you examine the tape, Milano did not have a good game. Yes, he made an outstanding play on that sack of Mahomes. But one of the big reasons that Mahomes was able to consistently run around the edge when he needed a play and/or the Chiefs were able to run wide-open crossing patterns at will all night is that our Linebackers (and Milano is very much a part of this) were consistently out of position—getting lost in the crowd—and not there to make the plays they should be making. In general, our entire LB crew sucked, and Milano was an equal contributor to that suckiness. He was not the lone reason, but he was part of the problem. -
1/26/25 GAMEDAY AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME Bills @ Chiefs Gameday Thread

This is a game where the NFL tells the refs to swallow their flags; you won't see many calls today except for the obvious pre-snap variety. -
1/26/25 GAMEDAY AFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME Bills @ Chiefs Gameday Thread
CSBill replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
HAPPY GAMEDAY, TBD! I feel remarkably calm about today. With no expectations from just about anyone to be here now, I feel like we're playing with House Money (and not @HOUSE - we all know he has no money). Today is gravy; it's icing on the cake. So relax, enjoy the day, and sit back and watch our Bills give us the next easy payout. LET'S GO, BUFFALO!!! -

Just saw a Bills Mafia member win a Champions tournament on Jeopardy, it’s a sign. This is the year. -
I live near NO, a lot of talk on sports radio about Brady. He had the big LSU connection.
