  1. Say what you want about whether or not he has the talent to play in the NFL (I don't know the answer), but this thread is a distraction. The fact that the poster titled it the way he did is a distraction. People's emotional comments are a distraction. You think NFL decision makers are interested in this?
  2. According to this https://www.statista.com/statistics/193553/revenue-of-national-football-league-teams-in-2010/ the Bills where 3rd last in revenue for NFL teams in 2016. One of the main reason is likely low stadium revenue. Buffalo is a smaller NFL market with few corporate HQs to buy luxury boxes. NY state has absurdly high taxes and expenses with a declining population. If you take emotion out of it, the Bills need a new stadium and revenue sources to compete long term in the NFL.
  3. Common thread is a lot of "didn't end well"
  4. You know I saw some Bills news flash on the NFL network ticker and ran online to see what it was. When I found out it was about Russ, well it was essentially a non-event for me. living outside of Buffalo and having no interest in hockey, this news is meh. Russ did a nice job marketing a nationally irrelevant team in a very small market. Now the fact he presided over the entire drought is certainly a negative. Hopefully this begins a new era for the Bills!
  5. I'm at a loss to understand so much nastiness about these signings?? 1) Bills have no money=no premium lineman free agents 2) Center just retired by surprise, so a 25 year old 4 year starter is signed to a reasonable deal 3) Thin at tackle with Hendersen and Glenn gone- go get a tackle with plenty of starting experience 4) I don't think many people, myself included, are qualified to judge oline play with any finality. Don't go find quotes from a Benals fan or Blogger and all of a sudden that opinion is a fact
  6. As a reminder I am eminently unqualified to grade qbs, but here are my thoughts: 1) Darnold + Has moxy, nice arm, won a lot of games, great size - I watched a lot of PAC 12 ball and he rarely popped. Turns the ball over. Would have loved another year of college, but don't blame him for coming out 2) Mayfield + He keeps creeping up for me. Experienced starter at 2 schools. 2x walk on is amazing. Great arm talent - He is short- there is no getting around that. College athleticism may not translate to pros. A bit wacky for a franchise qb, with crotch grapping and cop chasing 3) Rosen +great size, pedigree and accuracy -dude got hurt. Often. Seems like a a bit of a jerk 4) Lauletta +Dude balled out at the senior bowl. Seems smart and accurate. Some team will love him -does he have an nfl arm? Playing at Richmond doesn't help 5) Allen + Huge. Has a cannon. Yes he didn't play much competition, but did he have much in the way of teammates? Pro style experience - College completion % is bad. Needs to sit for a full year- not play after week 3 6) Jackson +A weapon, can throw and run and put up some sick numbers - How accurate will he be? QBs that run that much will get wiped the hell out in the NFL All this being said, I like Darnold and Allen the best
  7. I don't think it's an accident that there are conflicting reports on the Bills contacting the Browns. There is so much mis-information and non-substantiated opions out there right now at this time of year. At least I hope that Beane is playing his cards close to the vest. I guess we will see on draft night! It's gonna be fun
  8. You know I was thinking about that as well- indeed he did
  9. First of all, your name and logo are awesome. This though has got to be wishful thinking. No one would be crazy enough to give THREE second rounders to move up only three spots to do anything other than get a QB. I mean the jets paid the Iron Price for that pick
  10. These are great signings and what good teams do in free agency. Shore up weak spots with (relatively) inexpensive players to gain flexibity in the draft. Bodine had some bad grades, but we are THIN at center. These moves should help, not set the world on fire.
  11. Ugh seeing this all on paper like this makes me sick- these were some bad drafts. As you mentioned, there may be an argument for Moats as not being a miss. He had a decent career and a few starts for a 6th round LB
  12. I've been on this site for many years. I don't post much. OP, please refrain from posting anymore. Man, this site has become loaded with junk
  13. Coach brought him in last year as one of his guys to help establish his locker room culture. I am sure it's now obvious he can't play anymore
  14. Glad I wasn't the only one who noticed this tonight! I think this broadcast team has run it's course
  15. Don't understand why this topic keeps coming up. I've been here on this site getting news and updates for over 8 years and had never been to that BB message board. Heard it was a bunch of nasty negatively all day every day, so it got shut down. People who wanted to can now post and get news here. The end?
  16. This isn't hard- the answer is nothing for the 2017 Bills. They are trying to build for the long haul-- draft capital, scouting and personnel resources, etc. I'd imagine they have no intention at all of adding any unnecessary contracts to our roster. You are ignoring the fact that our salary cap situation for a junk roster is terrible, we have no depth, no real qb, and an almost 30 year old RB with a HUGE contract, and an albatross at DT. I'd say they expected to be bad this year. It's more likely he will divest the Bills of more players in 2017 than add any.
  17. No chance at all. Just have to hope the process works starting next year
  18. First interesting thread here in awhile! Good luck to you Josh. As an Arizona resident, I was buzzkilled to see the charges go online for the content-I can't get the paper! After hearing some of your points, I guess I can see how you would like to charge, but it does seem kinda 2010ish to pay for internet content....
  19. Well that didn't take long... Flawed team, below average talent at WR, shaky downfield passing game, poor protection yesterday etc... It's week two- this is not a playoff team- settle down
  20. This is a goofy idea. Why would a rebuilding team like the Bills trade for an average, 33 year old QB? We have an average 28 year old QB.
  21. These are moneyball moves- Let's say Matthews is 85% of the productivity of Watkins at 60% of the cost, plus a second rounder and Gaines is 85% of Darby at 75% of the cost, plus a third rounder That's all this is
  22. Why is this link to this dude's post being posted on TBD in 2x threads? Are we trying to drum up traffic for the Sabres board?
  23. We can kill two birds with one stone here. On the one hand, the moderator has a point. There have been more dumb threads started here in the last six months than at any time I can remember (not necessarily saying this thread is one of them). Not sure why that is, but it definately makes me look far less and probably frustrates moderators far more. Second, Gil Brandt has been doing football evaluations since I can remember trying to read them- pretty sure he has more knowledge than any homer fans might.
  24. No really what is the purpose of this absurd question? I had to go look and see if Allen had been released or something
  25. Aren't some of you obsessed with comp picks??? AFAIK there is a timeframe after which signing players stops counting against a team's ability to get comp picks for free agents lost. Maybe it's already happened? If not perhaps they are waiting for that?
