OK- I'm over the embarrassment of the coach quitting and the weird Polian courting. Let's focus on the positive. If I'm Pegula: 1) I've used all of these interviews to educate myself on Pro Football 2) I've realized that whaever the Bills have been doing organizationally isn't working and needs to change 3) I've invested a ton of money in this- I'll oversee it with the right experts running the show 4) I"m removing just about every higher level person in the org and all the Wilson cronies New Org Chart Terry/Kim Pegula- President Reporting to the President are 3 people 1) Russ Brandon- VP of Operations -Sales -Stadium -Finance -Analystics dept. (ha!) etc 2) Doug Whaley- General Manager -Player Acquistion -Scouting -Draft 3) Mike Shanahan- Head Coach (will probably want a cooler title and ALOT of say on personnel) -OC Kyle Shanahan. (Fine by me-has experience managing a pop gun offense- at this pop I'll take the pop gun) -DC Jim Schwartz (Only way Shanny is hired is if he agrees to keep him, which he will)

That's a shame- still it would have been a real shocker is the Bills somehow outsmarted the hole league and picked up a stud off the scrapheap:)
-
I don't think that's quite true. CJ has started about 30 games the last 3 years. When healthy 2 years ago he started many games and ripped off a huge season. Taking FJax's job is easier said than done. Freddy is perhaps the most popular Bill, works hard, plays hard and can do it all. He's a team captain, and that's not because Spiller can't play. I am sure no one wants to compete for work time with the hardest working stud in the office, even he is "over the hill" What's a RB worth?? Maybe a second rounder? At best? A trade like this can't make the Bills better.
-
I can't see any logic for trading Spiller. He's been a consummate pro and good team ambassador since the day he arrived. He possesses elite talent. He hasn't complained like most star backs would about sharing time. He was hurt last year don't forget! People rooting for this trade are probably the same people who wanted Lynch trading out of town because he is a goofball, so we got a 4th rounder and a pack of bubble gum for him. I know the Bills aren't big on overpaying for "non premium" positions (S, G, FB, RB) but this strikes me as flat out dumb.

should we be worried about the jets?
hmsmystic replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last year people were predicting the Jets to be one of the worst teams in football. Even with worse QB play than Buffalo and an awful run game, they still won 8 games. Ryan can coach and that team can flat out play some defense. Until we prove otherwise, the Jets are a better team than Buffalo -
I want this! http://espn.go.com/boston/nfl/story/_/id/10900270/new-england-patriots-offer-jersey-guarantee-fans Essentially the Patriots are offering rebates for Jersey puchases if a player leaves a team! In light of the latest Bills fiasco of letting a good player go for no reason (Stevie) we need this! My closet is filled with Jersey's of temp Bills employees. This could very well save some of those people who take an old jersey and tape the new players name over it. (I've seen a lot of Drew Bledsoe to Parrish Jersey combovers)

WR Stevie Johnson traded to San Francisco 49ers
hmsmystic replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is terrible- reminds me a liitle bit of trading away Lynch for a 4th rounder for whatever silly reasons. The board turns south on players and then cheers when they go for peanuts. 4th rounder next year is junk for a starting receiver. -
He's an upgrade over what we had and this contract is VERY reasonable. If he was a real good player we'd be paying double this contract

Trade Stevie Johnson to Carolina, they have no WRs
hmsmystic replied to Security's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know, it's hard to detect tone in posts- perhaps this post and thread is sarcasm? Because if not, you are recommending trading Stevie and Marcell for a 2nd and a 4th rounder????! If that's the case than we have all regressed emotionally, intellectually and probably even physically from having read it. -
Here's your veteran backup QB <edit>Fitzgibbons released
hmsmystic replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's a perfect backup- if he's over the public Buddy Nix beatdown he took from that recorded call. I'm sure our QB room would benefit from a qb who's had more that 3 starts, like last years group. -
There's no scenario he comes to Buffalo. IMO he's the best Pat not named Brady and has been for years. That said: 1) He is Mr. 3-4 NT- the prototype. We are not running a pure 3-4 here 2) This front office isn't bringing in 33 years old stars and paying them, which is smart 3) Some 3-4 team will pay him, but not us. With Kyle, Mario and a new deal for Darius, we have more than allocated our share of the cap to the DL

Bills contact NFL about scheduling disadvantage
hmsmystic replied to Simon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is a pointless argument. Good teams worry about 1 week at a time. Every team the Bills play has some type of advantage, be it line play, quarterbacking, coaching, etc.... Line up and win some damn games -

Well then let's trade our FO for New England's QB and coach

A re-draft has to have Matt Ryan going first- that Falcon team was a trainwreck before he got there, and now they are a perennial contender- say it with me- the Falcons are a perennial contender!

SI: Ranking the NFL’s best backfields
hmsmystic replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Our ranking seems harshly low at first, but probaly fair. CJ looks fanastic, but his volume of great seasons is low. I don't know which version of FJ is showing up this year- the stud of 2010 or the banged up fumbler of last year.... -

NFL Cheerleaders Preseason Pics
hmsmystic replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
How is it possible to think, let alone type this!! -
D did not play well, but this fast pace offense was a trainwreck and a main reason why. I think we had four consecutive 3 and outs in a row, and that just wears out a defense like nothing else.

Should we be concerned about Dareus?
hmsmystic replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ha! So now our motto is Dareus me ASAP? -
I've got a Trading Places type bet for $1with a buddy that Tebow doesn't make the team. While I do like him, he can't do any of the things the Pats need well enough for them to keep him.
-
I am at a loss continually on how any fan can defend the organization and it's hapless decision making in any meaningful (data or statistics) way. It's not the practice of simply cutting or not signing a veteran or two, it's the cumulative effect of not having these players on the roster, combined with sub-par drafting. A defense that kept and built around veterans such as say Pat Williams, London Fletcher and Antoine Winfield would have made a difference in the record. Less holes to fill would allow the team to focus on key spots. For example, would we be bottom 3 defense agaisnt the run with Poz and Whitner still on the team? Could we have used that top 10 pick spent on Spiller elsewhere if we had Lynch? I don't know if cutting Anderson was a good move or not, I do know we just signed him and there is no positive way to spin this move. None.

#22 - Can Dareus have a breakout season?
hmsmystic replied to BillsWatch's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's only one way to look at this. If he doesn't start, it becomes another bust of a pick and a potential disaster for the defense.
