  1. As an Original Bills Fan, love this post. I was 10 when the team started. Was there for Cookie Gilchrist'ss pro football rushing record in a mosh pit. Today they would have cancelled the game, the field was that bad. Was also in Nashville for home run throwback ? Agree the game as changed, but also remember in the 63-64-65-66 era there were fewer teams in pro football, so much harder to make a roster. Bemiller bounced between guard & center in '64 and '65. Dave Behrman was the center in '65 as I recall. I don't recall that they carried a separate long snapper back in those days. McGuire was a top punter, he was clutch in both AFL Championship wins, but Moorman has the stats and longevity. Edgerson, Hansen, and Tasker are on the wall, have to be on the team somewhere. Lofton is a PF HOF'r and made the K-gun work with his deep speed, also on the 50th all time team. Henry Jones was also on the 50th all time team. So was Ruben Brown. They have to be on here. Perhaps make Ritcher the second center instead of Bemiller? Gogolak changed the game, both with his kicking, and his move to the Giants was one of the first moves that led to the merger. That said, Christie had a long career with many accomplishments. Interestingly Scott Norwood is the only Bills kicker ever selected as first team all pro. Cookie was more of a gigantic RB than a FB, he wasn't noted for his blocking, He was a great receiver out of the backfield. Might move him to RB instead of Cribbs, and make room for Gash or Boobie Braxton. Fun to look back, suspect the 60th anniversary team will be voted on soon.
  2. Kemp used to take a beating, one of the original tough guys. Had 40 rushing touchdowns in 10 years, I think Cam has the record with 44, in much longer seasons. He was a master at the hard count, eye fakes, and just lowering his head behind Billy Shaw. Lamonica threw a pretty long ball.
  3. I wuz there{working in Nashville at the time], skybox, 45 Tn Yardline. stadium thought it was a forward lateral until the refs decided otherwise. simple solution, GPS chip in the ball and GPS tracking on the facade of the skyboxes, can track the LOS and the ball within fractions of an inch...
  4. Siran Neal has played LB, CB, Safety, could this be the eventual chess piece.4.56 40 40+ inch vertical.
  5. Why wouldn't Kim, Houghton alum, move the camp to Houghton, closer to New Era, less distractions for the camp.
  6. Tom Brady was a 7th rounder...
  7. Having worked for 20 years in a large corporation, Kim will hire whoever she needs to deal with the administrivia, and be focused on the important stuff that she and Terry paid $1.4BB for.
  8. I like the Allen Pick. Watching the Bills Raiders in a 42 degree downpour, Cali QB Carr struggled, Tyrod & Shady won the game on the ground and with control passing game with a big assist from Milano on D. Allen is big, big hands, and has played in nasty conditions. Granted Jack Kemp was a cali boy who helped the bills win their only two titles.
  9. Daryle Lamonica wasn't called the "Mad Bomber" for nothing, he def had arm talent for the day.
  10. Disagree, Sestak was the man, if his knees hadn't gone south, would have been one of the first AFL players in Canton. You couldn't run inside on Buffalo in the mid 60's 17 straight games without a rushing touchdown. McDole had a long and distinguished career, but he was far from the best on the Bills D-Line in the championship years. The D-Lineman then were the size of today's LB's.
  11. Like Jessica Biel every night?
  12. So how did we let Schwartz and Reich get away?
  13. Eagles Coordinators both have Bills ties, shoulda woulda coulda.
  14. One of the Top 3 running backs in the league, Richie, DiMarco, and we don't pound three straight up the gut. Glad Dennison is gone.
  15. I had a chuckle about that as well, likely the largest db ever to be involved in a scoring play.
  16. Ok, grew up in the Niagara Peninsula, went to St. Frannies, which has probably turned out more top pro athletes than any other school in WNY, Just won a National title with Alabama, not his first rodeo as an NFL OC. If the Indy game didn't prove you need a strong OL and running game, then you don't understand WNY. Go Bills
  17. He also then managed to swipe malcontent Dareus for next to nothing and stick Buffalo with a huge pile of dead cap.
  18. Eagles are in the NFC Championship, their OC and DC are Reich and Schwartz. How do we keep doing this to the amazing Bills Mafia.
  19. Listen to him all the time on the NFL channel on Sirius. Very sharp, analytical, and a positive guy who doesn't betray his sources.
  20. Not sure with his issues Glenn can pass a physical anywhere but Buffalo
  21. Imagine the review of the end of the first half from the 1st and goal from the one after the penalty through the Jax FG will be a difficult conversation. Changed the entire complexion of the game. Going into HT 7-0 vs 3-3 in a game like this is a biggie.
  22. Also - first and goal from the 1.5 yard line, butchered that series, then butchered clock management at the end of the half to allow the Jags to Score. 7 point coaching screwup there.
  23. I was there, in a box, with my son, and suffered the "Thrill of Victory, Agony of Defeat". Home Run Throwback aka "the forward lateral".
  24. Bill Russell won 11 NBA titles as a player, in an era when WIlt was playing. He also won two consecutive NCAA titles including 55 games in a row, and an Olympic Gold Medal [as an amateur]. Second all time in rebounds and rebounds per game and arguably the best post defender ever to play the game. He changed the game as the first quick, athletic post player. Also a 6'9" high jumper [when the WR was 7'0"] at at 6-10 could run a sub 50 second quarter mile. Also the first black head coach in a major American Professional Sports League.
  25. BraDor would make for an interesting pregame experience
