"You better throw some touchdowns pretty !@#$ing quick or we both will be collecting unemployment next season!"

SJ is a good receiver but he sucked today. Including another stupid penalty.

No contract is 100% "iron clad". Plus for a group of billionaires in a large market, 400 million is not necessarily a deal breaker. Bottom line is as it always has been. We will see when we see.
-
Maybe that's Brandons angle, who knows. But I do know one thing, Brandon would not agree to a deal this long and apparently restrictive without having something in mind.
-
I want to hear Brandon use wording similar to: "Iron clad agreement. 400 million buyout in the first 7 years. No other outs." I have a very hard time believing with Mr. Wilsons health what it is that the Bills would enter into an agreement so restrictive that it would severely limit potential buyers when the time comes.

400 million is a lot of money. It would surprise me that the Bills (particularly Smithers) would enter into an arrangement like this unless there were more terms not made public. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

Actually the convenient part is thinking that gameday is a significant source of revenue for the Buffalo area. Except for the people running parking lots around the stadium, and the stadium workers themselves no one is impacted significantly. Thinking that this has any impact on a Buffalo wide economic scale does not have any basis in fact, again in my opinion. And again, in a perfect world I agree having all games in Buffalo is the best possible thing. -

It would be good for Buffalo (not necessarily the wins/losses for the Bills, but for Buffalo) if this arrangement makes it economically feasible for the new owners to keep the Bills in Buffalo. Anything that makes the balance sheet look better helps this. You seem to be living in a dream world where the Buffalo economy is not among the worst in the country and ignoring the fact that any new ownership will have a big debt load and will be looking closely at the teams profitability when evaluating if it makes sense to keep the Bills in Buffalo or move them to a better economic environment. In a perfect world everyone here would agree that having all games in Buffalo would be preferred. But we do not live in a perfect world and pretending the only thing that matters is wins and losses does not make sense in my opinion. -

Yes but you see that doesn't fit into the "I'm mad as hell and demand everyone be fired" mindset, -

Wouldn't that be something if he is one of the few ex-Bills that ends up with a ring. I may need to keep a barf bucket next to my chair, but if NE makes the big dance I will have to be hoping for them to win. -

The football season is over, it's petition season now. -
What makes you think that Kelly, whose experience with general managers of an NFL franchise to my knowledge begins and ends with signing a contract with one that his agent negotiated for him, would have even the slightest idea of how to do the job. Plus he is passionate about the Bills, but he does not seem like the sharpest tool in the shed. You may not be crazy, but your self proclaimed hero worship has gotten the better of you.

Tebow won't snort coke off of a prostitutes nipple with them, that's why. -
For me personally, I have no problem pulling the plug on Gailey after this season. He has shown absolutely nothing in the way of coaching ability in his three years in Buffalo, nor in any of his other jobs at the NFL or collegiate level. There is no reason to expect him to be any different next season than he has been in his entire career. BUT if and only if the Bills can hire someone who they have good reason to believe will do a better job. I do not support in any way firing Gailey just out of blind rage then having to hire someone else worse because no one else better will accept the job. For me the jury is still out on Nix. But the same caveat applies, they would need to have someone lined up who they have good reason to believe would be better and who would accept the job.

I believe the purpose of the Toronto series was to: 1) Keep the price of Bills season tickets down by having one fewer regular season and preseason games (admittedly they turned around and boned season ticket holders this year on the preseason game). 2) Line Mr. Wilsons pockets with all the money received from Rogers. 3) Satisfy the offshore game requirement for the Bills. 4) Increase interest in corporate boxes among Toronto companies. Except for the preseason game boning this year I'd say these criteria were successful except #4. I also believe that #4 had little chance of success even if the Bills fielded good teams during the series, and no chance with the turd sandwich that was served the past 5 years. -

I never heard Fitz blame it on his ribs. Just some other players and people here. -
I will watch the next one. Doubt the nyets game will be on TV here. Just checked, all kinds of seats left.

And 8 of 9 of the CBS talking heads like the fish straight up, with 6 of 8 liking the fish giving the points. I know 3 of the 4.5 points come from playing in Miami but man, who would have thought it would have come to this at the start of the season.
-
I don't know about that. Did you see the second half kickoff?

Eating Crow since Chan wasnt fired
CodeMonkey replied to billsfan_34's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt that only because I believe if Gailey quits he gives up his last years salary. I wouldn't be surprised though if he tells Nix that he would be OK with being fired. -
It means if the Bills win out that he, after only 3 years, would have achieved the lofty 7-9 record of his predecessor. Who, as it happens, was run out of town for sucking.
-
Oh yeah I forgot about that. Not sure what happened, but Lynch and everyone else in that area of the Seattle sideline had a big laugh about it.
