  1. I imagine he can do what he wants. People wanted a housecleaning and I'd say they are getting what they asked for!
  2. The reason is that you always. without exception, look like a complete and total ass when you do it. You can tell it after the fact anyway you like.
  3. Geez, the Bills took him at #9 overall, suffered through his first few years to where he is now poised to become a big impact player and you want to trade him for just a 1st and a 2nd? Crazyness man. To get Spiller now Nix better need at least a couple in the first, including one pretty damn high.
  4. I usually don't watch them at all but caught a little of one yesterday that showed a very bad, and very scripted "interview" of JJ Watt by the Chin. I thought Cowher was going to have to wipe something of JJ Watts off of his chin by the end of it, Just sayin.
  5. Doubtful. Browns fans were probably saying "poor Bills fans" 3 years ago when Gailey was hired and you didn't see flames on your screen. You saw "Jerrahs biggest mistake", "mega-mind", and "Yes we Chan!". I imagine the majority of Browns fans will accept him openly like the majority of Bills fans accepted Gailey and for that matter Marrone who at this point is a pretty big (pun intended) unknown..
  6. I must be jaded. When I saw the title I thought it was going to be about predicting the Bills being in next seasons SB
  7. My wife knows almost nothing about football and if she isn't at the game she doesn't watch on TV, but she loves going to the games for the same reason so I know what you mean. No such luck about cheap seats for her though, lower bowl sideline or club. Cha-Ching!
  8. Different peoples perceptions are interesting. To me that sounds like "I watch half the game on a crappy TV and the other half with the action coming straight at me" To me that would suck, but that's what makes it interesting! And to the OP ... Russ Brandon, and everyone within 75 miles of the Ralph who wants to watch the games on TV, thanks you for your interest!
  9. "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." - George Santayana. So of course it does matter. But anyone who doesn't at least hope he can turn things around is not a fan in my opinion.
  10. I think you are jumping the gun. Marrone must work well with him and thinks he can do well in the NFL or he would have not staked his first NFL HC job on it. Just relax, wait, and see how it plays out.
  11. What the F makes you think Gailey looked better on paper?????? Certainly not his underachieving in Dallas a decade earlier or being bought out of his contract at Georgia Tech so that he couldn't do any more damage to that program!
  12. So does Rex hire his brother now?
  13. Wow 19 pages already. I personally don't give a **** if Hacket is 33 or 13. Marrone obviously thinks he is capable and that they work well together. This was obviously Marrones decision so why all the pissing and moaning? It matters not how old he is or what his experience is. The HC wanted him and got him. I hope the same thing happens for DC (someone who Marrone really wants) so that maybe 3 years from now we aren't going through the same process as now.
  14. i was unaware that in order to hire world class people you had to pick a name that people on a message board have heard of before.
  15. One of my favs. If Sanchize dumped her he must be gay.
  16. 1) Bills fans have been burned a great deal by blind optimism. Remember "Yes we Chan!". 2) Gailey also had everyone singing his praises when he was hired. Cowher and Jerrah to name two. No one of consequence will speak bad of a coaching hire as it could come back to haunt them. 3) Marrone was 25-25 at SU. I know there can be more to it than record, but to date he is .500 for his lifetime as a head coach. I choose to think he is a good hire and will probably make a good HC. But my optimism is kept in check by the facts above,
  17. Well she is a bit old for Sanchize. She is out of high school after all.
  18. I have told bosses they were wrong when I was absolutely sure they were. Personally as a boss I have no use for sniveling yes-men. I need people who can think for themselves and don't have their noses up my butt.
  19. True. And some are pleased always no matter what. It takes all kinds. But remember when Gailey was hired 3 short years ago ... "Mega-mind offense", "Jerrahs biggest mistake", endorsed by the Chin, blah blah blah. Guarded optimism would seem to be prudent in this case in my opinion.
  20. I believe I heard him say in the presser that he wanted his coordinators to have NFL experience which would fly in the face of what you stated unless the cuse OC and DC had NFL experience before going to cuse.
  21. Interesting wording in the text. Doug Marrone has been selected as the new head coach Not signed, or even Doug Marrone is the new head coach, but selected. Maybe he hasn't signed on the dotted line yet so they have to word it that way. Or maybe I'm over analyzing I wanted someone from the college ranks instead of a NFL retread and I do not know enough about individual college coaches to prefer one over another, so I'm happy. Now sign good OC/DC while other teams are still floundering over getting a HC!
  22. Maybe because he who hires a HC first gets the early jump on hiring OC/DC. I agree in principle. A mediocre 25-25 at a school like Syracuse being the highlight of his resume (I also believe he wasn't the primary OC for the Saints) leaves me uninspired. But I always preferred someone from a college to a failed NFL retread. So I'm ready to see what he can do rather than call him a bust before he is even signed
  23. Looks like it might be true after all. http://www.nfl.com/n...address-offense
  24. Because he is the GM in waiting I'd have to figure he was completely on board with the decision. Assuming it's true that is.
