  1. No, it would be equally as meaningless but not nearly as funny.
  2. What threat to his job, a practice squad member getting promoted because the #2 had a bad outing and they couldn't sign Freeman? I love all the references to Brady, and "what if" Thad lights it up. This place cracks me up
  3. But they like Lewis less that Tuel. Well, as good a time as any to see what Lewis has.
  4. Not much ... unless they sign Tebow
  5. Unless Freeman plays like the 2nd coming of P. Manning I think you are way off. It would take a huge performance to oust the 1st pick of both Marrone and Whaley and the first QB in the draft when all the "experts" figured Geno should be the first. Taking over for Ponder is the smoothest path to a starting job, and he gets A.P. to boot.
  6. He was trying to slide, albeit too late. I don't have an issue with Alonzo hitting Hoyer. But Alonzo led with the crown of his helmet into Hoyers helmet. It should have been flagged in my opinion, and I would not be surprised if the league took some of his next paycheck for it.
  7. i know what you mean. But they are 2-3 overall with the Pats* at 4-0 and the Phins at 3-1. And maybe more important, the Bills are 0-2 in the division and 1-3 in the conference. And starting what you think is a capable backup for a game or two is what you do when your #1 goes down, not panic shopping. Also, if Marrone thought Tuel was a capable backup before, last night should not have changed his mind so quickly. If Marrone did not think Tuel was an adequate backup that begs the even more disturbing question, why in the world would Marrone and Whaley allow the situation to exist where if their #1 went down they immediately need to go into a panic mode to hire someone off the street.
  8. I'll probably get tarred and feathered for this but ... If they don't see someone they *really* like (i.e not a stop gap) maybe they let Tuel start until Manuel gets back. I have to assume they liked Tuel as a backup before last night. Kicking him to the curb after a bad road game coming in cold and with probably damn few first team reps in weeks seems like an overreaction. Realistically the Bills were probably not making the playoffs this season with or without Manuel. Why not let Tuel start at this point with proper preparation and see what he has. If he sucks, then they know they need a backup QB this off season. If he becomes adequate they can rest easier in the future. What is the point of bring in a stop-gap QB now?
  9. Translation ... "Tuel scared the **** out of me too"
  10. When a team is weak like the Bills have been for more than a decade, then mediocre to good players that may not have had breakout games before have a good chance of doing so against the weak team. It happens so much because the Bills have been a weak team for so long.
  11. Holy crap you are right. CBS: All 8 pick the Browns straight up and 6 out of 8 with the 4.5 spread. ESPN 11 to 1 Browns Geesh, no love indeed!
  12. Yes but it was in an insane blizzard. Or maybe I was insane for being there.
  13. Yup. In a potentially very ugly game he who makes the fewest mistakes wins.
  14. I see a close game with the team that makes the fewest mistakes winning.
  15. That's one way soccer does it right. If there is a foul but the team still maintains advantage the play continues. And for things like offside, if the offside player doesn't get involved in the play, the play also continues.
  16. It was very clear to me that he had the ball trapped in his elbow and that it was still moving as he was going out of bounds. At best he had one foot in with control. I guess we agree to disagree here.
  17. You're kidding right? I certainly hope so because it couldn't have been more conclusive on both plays. Even the announcers got it right.
  18. Some were saying that before yesterdays game.
  19. Just took a quick look on ticketmaster and there are still quite a few left, particularly in the 300's. I'm hoping that yesterdays win will help them sell out!
  20. I'd have to watch it again, but I didn't think Manuels knee was even down when he got hit at the time. Manuel should not have been jerking around. If they needed to kill more clock then hand it to a RB and take it out of the QBs hands. I'd have been mad as well if I was the Ravens HC. Hackett needs to be smarter.
  21. I thought the D played a very good game, and the D-line was outstanding. The Ravens barely even tried to run in the 2nd half. Manuel played well, showed improvement which is what I am looking for with him. I thought Spiller did not play well at all while he was in, FredEx was a beast. SJ13 was at best a non-factor. Hackett and Marone still have a long way to go. Hackett is still far too predicable and Marrone is still making bad mistakes. Turn down a penalty and have it become 3rd and 6??? These two need to step up their game in a big way. The D clearly won this game for the Bills.
  22. Joe Flacco. He was pressured a lot by the Bills D-Line all game, but that first Alonzo INT where Kiko was just standing there and Flacco hit him in the numbers is something you don't expect to see from what the TV guys were calling an "elite" QB But as far as the Bills go, I'd give it to the entire D-line.
