Are you wearing an extra large cup or are you just happy to see me?

100% not the case at the Ralph. Though it sounds like it is in N.O. which is how it should be in my opinion. I make the game a family experience by watching it in my house with the family.

A hostile crowd to the opposing team, i.e. making so much noise they can't hear themselves think, is wonderful. Extending that to the parking lot and opposing teams fans is not. It's very sad that people have such a negative experience in Buffalo. I'm sure it clouds their perception of the entire area. Words and more important, actions to live by.

Oh Man.....are the Chiefs that good?
CodeMonkey replied to Numark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/features/writers/expert/picks/straight-up/9 The CBS talking heads are giving the nod to the Bills this week, Yeah these are the same guys who thought Miami would pretty much roll over the Bills a couple weeks ago, but still -
Makes one wonder what those same people you saw would be writing on a Saints forum after going to a Saints game at the Ralph.

CBS has 5-2 Bills with the spread and 4-3 Bills straight up. Which team is 3-5 and which 8-0? My favorite simulation site (http://www.sportsclu...st/Buffalo.html) has the most likely ending as the Bills going 4-4 the remainder of the season to finish the season 7-9. And their overall playoff chances at 5.9%.

Best Tailgating: Buffalo?
CodeMonkey replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hard to believe Buffalo tailgating being beaten by too many places (GB being a strong contender I would think). At least for home team fans. -
Dude, seriously. Do you follow football at all? I barely do except for the Bills but even I know the Stillers are 2-5 this year so far and lost to the freaking Raiders this past weekend. If Manuel is back by then I'd be very disappointed if the Bills lost that game much less have "the snot kicked out of us".

Annoying Announcers and My Thoughts
CodeMonkey replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You should be careful with your generalizations as well. Not everyone watching on TV is a superfan of tackle football. I think it is fair to say that most have never played at even a high school level much less higher. And many are probably women and children who might not know the game very well at all. What is obvious to one person might not be to everyone watching. A great example is watching Olympic hockey on TV. The announcers explain things like offsides every game which every hockey fan already knows. But a TV audience has a very wide range of knowledge of the game. -
I see where you are going with this and agree in principle. But I can't say injuries to both knees in his rookie season is any kind of blessing.

My Thoughts Got Blown Up......
CodeMonkey replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can say that about pretty much any team. Look at what Brady is doing with little to no talent in NE*. -
Sounds like some Bills "fans" ... i.e. the drunken idiots ... could learn a lot from Saints fans. I know of kids being verbally abused in the parking lot at the Ralph for wearing the opponents jersey. Completely unacceptable and embarrassing. I have never been to a Saints game, but I have been to N.O. and have always found it to be a friendly city and apparently many others in this thread have as well.

It could be very close to Matt Flynn time

As opposed to Lewis? Somebody has to start if Manuel can't go. -

That puzzles me. I'm no big expert in offensive schemes, in fact I'm not even a little one, but isn't a couple weeks enough time? I thought Hackett was keeping it pretty simple for Manuel, which should make it easier for a new QB to pick up. If Flynn was given first team reps this week he couldn't have enough of a handle on the offense? The Bills should have seen enough of Lewis by this point to want to try and evaluate Flynn, no? I was under the impression, perhaps wrongly, that this wasn't as hard to master as Gaileys "mega-mind" offensive scheme. -
Annoying Announcers and My Thoughts
CodeMonkey replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Perhaps not. But after every game, every season you can come here and see threads and numerous posts about how the refs screwed the Bills over and generally cost them the game. The only way for that to happen would be a conspiracy. -

Officiating in the NFL is almost always going to be bad in my opinion. Too much going on at once, over-regulated to almost an absurd degree, and an average age of officials somewhere between 100 and 150 years old. Unless things are drastically changed, I think bad officiating is to be expected. -

The depth of the NFL's conspiracy against the Bills knows no bounds. -

Well that's just a little disturbing to not give him help at least. Props to Brees for seeing it and delivering the ball I guess. -
I agree that the defense looks much better. I haven't seen improvement in the offense as of yet. With or without Manuel. Probably due to not many offensive roster changes over last season combined with a rookie QB (and recent PS QB) and coaching staff.

Impressions of Game day in New Orleans?
CodeMonkey replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Tackle football is an interesting sport that way. Teams really cannot practice at full speed and with full contact or they risk too many players being injured. Even their non-contact practices are severely limited during camp. This makes the players very unprepared for the season in relation to other professional sports. Couple that with the very (in my opinion over) precise rules makes for a lot of penalties and generally sloppy play. I mean if an offensive lineman sneezes he will get called for a false start (probably the worst rule in my opinion). I would bet money that if you had enough cameras to see every play on the field in detail you could find a penalty on nearly every play. Which leads to inconsistency in the calls and infuriation on the part of the fans and players. -

And yet if the sides had been switched Bills fans would have been irate if it wasn't called. -

Annoying Announcers and My Thoughts
CodeMonkey replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's what the Bills are to non Bills fans. Yeah the announcers sucked yesterday, but I could finish the game with them. When the super-homer Bills announcers are on I usually don't make it through the game listening to them. I find them too embarrassing. -

I don't see why not at this point. They have seen what Lewis has. They brought Flynn in, why not look at him as well. -

There was a reason he has been a practice squad level player his entire career even with that cannon arm he has.
