Patriots Claim former Bills LB Chris White
CodeMonkey replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What would be the purpose or reason for such a bias? -
I don't get this attitude at all, unless of course you are just trolling. A rebuilding season, which I agree this is, does not have to be dismal. Are the Bills likely to lose more games than they win this season ... quite possibly. But they now have their QB of the future in my opinion, as well as a head coach, OC, and DC that aren't coaching like it was 1990. Last year at this time I agreed with your "dismal" prediction because it was obvious to all but the most optimistic Bills fans. But this year should be anything but dismal as there are many things to look forward to seeing. Not the least of which is seeing how Manuel adapts to the NFL and to see if this high priced defensive line can earn it's money now that they have a decent DC. Buck up buttercup and strap on a pair.

So does Byrd play on sunday or not?
CodeMonkey replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If its in the endzone he lets it go and if not he fair catches it. Or worse yet, not in the endzone and he lets it go. -

Just ordered a shirt. As a father myself, I sincerely wish your entire family nothing but the best. -
So does Byrd play on sunday or not?
CodeMonkey replied to billsgpr88's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have no inside info either, but I would say if the "trade me" rumor is true, and if Parker/Byrd feel that the Bills are working on that in good faith, then I think he plays. Otherwise it is just another round in the ongoing pissing contest and Byrd sits because quite frankly, that's the only leverage he has. -
Agreed. But it sounds to me like there is no flexibility on both sides of the table, not just the one. And why should Byrd want to be back bad enough to take less money than he feels he is worth on the open market? Why shouldn't the Bills want him bad enough to pay what he is asking? They sure did for "Super" Mario, and then some. The reality is they came to an impasse. Due to a poor job (in my opinion) by the players union, the Bills had the tag card to play which they did. Which led to posturing by Parker/Byrd and so on and ultimately nobody wins.
-
No agent should accept $1.5mil less than what (s)he feels is fair market value for their client. If Parker felt he could get that much and a long term deal elsewhere then he not only had the right to play it the way he did, but he had the obligation to Byrd as well. It's just business. Parker and Byrd are looking out for their interests just like the Bills are looking out for theirs. This one seemingly has escalated to a decidedly adversarial situation unfortunately with Bills players and fans caught in the middle.

Predictions - Bills v. New England*
CodeMonkey replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Reading through these predictions, yours seems to be one of the more realistic ones. But hey, as of right now the Bills are undefeated and tied for first! -
Stevie Johnson: Pats can't 'stop me'
CodeMonkey replied to Stevie's Johns0n's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah I can see where you are coming from as well. But to me if you have been good (as a team) you don't need to talk (look at the pats* for example), and if you have been bad (or VERY bad) if you talk it makes you look foolish. I guess over all I would prefer the players to be quiet and do their talking on the field. Put up or shut up as it were. -
I get the feeling the team was already his whether he started Sunday or not.

Stevie Johnson: Pats can't 'stop me'
CodeMonkey replied to Stevie's Johns0n's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Ohhhh. That quote in particular nothing (unless you believe in things like like firing other team up). But it sure makes it look like the same old SJ13. Plus to be honest it makes him look like a fool. All anyone has to do is look at the records of the two teams over the last 13 years, both in general and against each other, and any Bill shooting their mouth off looks the fool. -

Yes I did hear it that day. What he said in the interview didn't hurt the team. What he said in the interview basically was that he had grown up and wasn't going to do immature things any more that could hurt the team. Yet not even week one and it's the same old Stevie it seems. -

No worries though. A couple weeks ago on Rochester radio during camp SJ13 said he had learned his lesson and was done doing immature things that hurt the team. -
Adam Schefter Picks Bills to Finish 2nd in AFC East

Or .. they are grasping at something, anything, to talk about for the next few days when the season starts. They need to do something to get the paycheck. Whether or not it means anything is irrelevant. -

What this team needs is players who make the big plays. Anyone, and I mean anyone, can shoot off their mouth. No talent required there. For proof look no further than TBD. -
Got to love Marrone's optimism
CodeMonkey replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What impresses me is his ability to deal with DickTards like the one asking that question. Presumably this is a professional journalist asking that brain dead question? Simply astounding. -

I can't imagine this will make the Pats* any more or less motivated. If they even see it the most it will get out of the Pats* is a chuckle. -
Can the Bills name Tuel the starter...
CodeMonkey replied to dollars 2 donuts's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I doubt Marrone wants Manuel running much this week. Why tempt fate with that knee. You believe BellyCheat is at a disadvantage not knowing which rookie QB he will be facing just because he has no regular season tape on either one? -
Yeah that could be a problem. I think GB only has one at the moment.
-
It still amazes me that the NFLPA would ever approve the tag. But then again, 99% of the NFL players would never be tagged anyway so maybe that's why it passed. But make no mistake, players that get tagged get royally !@#$ed over. And Byrd could very will get !@#$ed twice.
-
Doesn't need a win. I believe he would be the only undrafted QB to start on opening day.

I was going to say he gave them to TBD when Manuel then Gilmore went down -
11.5 seems crazy high for week one. But I guess Vegas needs to try and entice people to put money on the Bills. But sadly unless there is a hurricane that day I don't see the Bills keeping it that close.
