  1. I grilled a nice sirloin tonight. I know, sirloins suck, but it was on sale and I've found that they're not bad if marinated correctly. I used soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and some hot pepper flakes for a touch of "warmth." Cooked it to a nice medium-rare and let it sit for about 10 minutes before I sliced it. It was 70 degrees here in VT today. It feels so good to have the sun in my face, and I can now see about half of my lawn.
  2. Absolutely nothing wrong with being a redneck. Well, unless you're the illiterate, ignorant kind. Nothing worse and more dangerous, IMO, than a dummy with strong opinions.
  3. Have you ever attended a NASCAR race? I have more than once. Maybe it was because it was down south (Charlotte Motor Speedway), but I have never seen such a collection of scrubby toothless rednecks in my entire life. More mullets and missing teeth at one of those races than the entire state of Pennsylvania. Generally nice people though...just a little rough around the edges. For the record, I do enjoy the occasional NASCAR race. As long as I am watching from my recliner drifting in and out of sleep.
  4. For the record, I never said that I thought he was making a good decision. I obviously think (for selfish and logical reasons) that he is making a bad decision and could benefit from another year in college. What I was trying to convey is that I understand why he is making this decision. He is another serious injury injury away from potentially ending his career. Some NBA talent scout (whether good or bad advice) told him that he will likely be a 1st round selection. I can see how he would want to take a shot at the guaranteed 2 year deal worth 1.9 million guaranteed. He does have physical traits and athleticism that NBA scouts drool over, and I wouldn't be shocked to see his stock rise as the draft approaches. There aren't too many guys his size that can do the things that he can do, and he hasn't even grown into his "adult body" yet. Also, NBA scouts have been watching this kid since high school. They know that he has more to offer than what we all saw while he was at Syracuse. I don't think it's a stretch to think that some team near the end of the 1st round will take a chance on him.
  5. Doesn't anybody love Johnny Hammersticks? Jimmy Spags
  6. Good question. Magic 8 ball says "not likely." How much wood could a woodchuck Chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
  7. Maybe so, but McCullough is a 6'11" guy who can handle the ball, run the floor, and shoot from outside (he's a much better shooter than we saw this year b/c JB didn't let him). Plus, he's still going to add 20+ pounds to his frame. He's just a kid. Jerami Grant is an athletic 6'8" small forward without a NBA shot. McCullough, if he works hard and stays healthy, is a much better NBA prospect than Grant. Some team will take a shot at him in the 1st purely based on potential. But that's just one guy's opinion...
  8. Too many drugs in my college days I think. Oh, and my Mother doesn't love me. Boxers or briefs?
  9. I think he will be a late 1st rounder. I think NBA scouts gave him a 1st round grade, and that is why he jumped. He's going to collect that minimum 1.2 million salary for being a first round pick and hope for the best. I certainly don't think he's physically ready yet though. I understand why he is doing it, but I think it's a stupid, short sighted decision.
  10. Unless Cuse lands Thomas Bryant, which seems unlikely, who plays at center? Chino? Okay...he will not be ready, but who plays center when he gets in foul trouble? Roberson? Syracuse basketball is in big, big trouble next season. I'm starting to come to terms with that...sad as it is.
  11. Yeah, I agree. It can't hurt though. The reports that he is leaning toward Indiana surprise me. Especially with recent reports of Crean being on the "hot seat" due to disappointing seasons the past couple years. The first round loss this year didn't help. On the flip side of the coin, I can see how Syracuse's NCAA penalties (couple with Boeheim's announcement) might have detered he and his family
  12. Apparently, Malachi Richardson trying to influence Thomas Bryant's decision at the McDonalds AA game. https://twitter.com/syracusebball/status/583256400698195968
  13. My wife recognized the main guy from the drug deal. I didn't, but she has a really good memory. She thinks she saw him with Tuco's crew.
  14. Has anyone else heard about the possibility for Gus Fring to enter the story? I recall hearing way back that he would be part of the show, and that Cranston and Aaron Paul might also make brief appearances. I've been waiting for Mike to meet up with Gus. Maybe plans for next season?
  15. How about the Fighting Sioux? That would be a cool one.
  16. Jeez!! So if this turns out to be true, AND McCullough decides to declare, we are going to be in big, big trouble next season. They need to bring Bernie back to work with Chino!!
  17. FWIW, my "source" tells me that they have pretty much moved on from Thomas Bryant. It is felt that he will go to Indiana...maybe Kentucky as a surprise. They are now devoting much of their recruiting resources on 2016 G Tyus "kid mamba" Battle. Sucks. Hopefully DC2 will be ready and Chino will have improved. Losing McCullough would be devastating. As much as I hate this, I completely get it.
  18. I started putting coleslaw on my hotdogs and hamburgers while living in the south. Coleslaw is like ketchup down there. I don't do it anymore, but it's delicious.
  19. I think either AJ Cann or Laken Tomlinson will be there at 50. I'd much rather go with one of these guys, and roll with the young guys we already have and hope with new coaching/scheme things come together. I just can't see spending an additional 5-6 million per year on a guard at this point when we have players who are approaching FA that we need to be extending.
  20. lol...that's a great description.
  21. All of my bread comes with those plastic thingies. I don't even know what they're called. I'm not trying to be a dork...I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a twist tie. This reminds me of some dialogue from Pulp Fiction. Jules says to Vincent, "yes but you are aware of the invention called television, and that on these televisions they have shows, right?" If I had to use a twist tie, 3 clockwise twists. Any more and you're just playing with it.
