Do we really have give McBeane the 2019 season?
dubs replied to RosenNOTchosen1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh goodie, another “mcbeane” thread. INteresting stuff! Two Bills Drive definitely needs a rebuild. I could suggest more than a few posters I’d like to see traded to other team fan boards. -
Brandon Beane deserves to be fired tomorrow

Ok, so even if we take all you’ve put down as fact and extend that logic, how is this on Beane (or McD for that matter). Beane wasn’t here and you’re saying that McD should have had a great draft in ‘17 with a lame duck staff and GM when he’s a brand new coach who’s been on the job a couple months? Got it. Makes sense. -

I agree. I come back less and less often. Also often try and inject some reasonableness to the discussion, but then the mob just gets their pitchforks, torches, puts on their diapers and spew out the same nonsense over and over again. -

Dude! You are on fire. These are two of the best posts I’ve read on here in a while. Thank you, sincerely. -

Purposely avoid TBD now because of stuff like this, but that first line is liquid gold. The Bills has a good running attack and an inept QB, lest we forget. Acting like the 2016 Bills offense was something to build upon is hilarious. The GM has made some mistakes and done some good things. The plan was to get a QB and build the defense with some young, elite talent. I’ve said it a thousand times on here, you may not like it, it might not work, and it’s certainly painful to watch, but it’s the plan. I’m willing to see if it works and hopeful it will. -

How would the backup QB for the last place Cleveland Browns have fared for the Bills if he played against the Titans and Colts. Hmmmmm....sounds like a familiar hypothetical I’ve read around these parts before. Hmmmmm -
I do get the frustration. It’s been a long time since this team really gave anyone any hope for SuperBowl contention. But most of that was before this ownership and certainly before this GM/HC/OC. IMHO - this year is a freebie for the leadership. I think I understand what they are trying to do. Not all the moves made/make sense to me, but then again I’m not in the bldg, not a professional in football, and therefore have some degree of benefit of the doubt for these guys. Basically, this regime believed that to get where they want to be, they had to find a franchise QB, unload what they felt were bad contracts, and start building from the ground up. To do that, it took a lot of tough decisions that they and we knew would cause pain for this year. Next year is really when the pressure starts. Anything less than vast, noticeable improvement will be extremely disappointing. I think what frustrates pragmatic posters on this board is that less pragmatic posters seem to be have already drawn conclusions from what’s an incomplete story. As painful as it is, we just have to wait and see what happens.

Yikes!

A first and I think he’s an FA after this year. Possible after next. That’s a huge price to pay for a guy who’s been disappointing the last two years.
-
Ha. You’re going to get attacked from all sides for this but I appreciate the effort. This place has become a dumpster fire of hot takes.

IMO - the only real screwup by this FO is the second QB situation. In retrospect, in the offseason they probably should have overpaid for a quality vereran to play and mentor Allen. Other than thay, this was pretty much expected. Maybe not the Indy game but the rest of it and I’m fine with a crappy year as long as next year we see vast improvement, Allen looks legit, and the D is solid.

In all seriousness, I think the Bills win this this game. They really haven’t even played a bad team this year. I’d be shocked if they haven’t had one of the more difficult schedules up to this point. Not a single team below .500 and most leading their division. Balt: 4-2 LAC: 4-2 Min: 3-2 GB: 3-2 Ten: 3-3 Hou: 3-3 Ind: 1-5

McDermott's Judgement on offense is impaired.
dubs replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m sure they could have done more within the constraints of their plan to be better on offense this year. But it really doesn’t matter if at the end of the year they are 32 on offense or 22. If they do nothing in this offseason to markedly improve the offense, then yes, I’ll be upset. But to get so upset that you get triggered when the HC of the cardinals gets fired and try to claim it’s proof that McDermott is a failure is laughable. It’s the kind of drivel that’s making this board more unpalatable than the bills offense. -

Last time I checked, Brandon Beane was the GM so he’s responsible for bringing in players. Also, it’s clear that the team is focuses on three things up to this point: 1) get the best QB you can in the draft in 2018 2) get rid bad contracts and accumulate draft picks 3) improve the defense now, you may not agree with the approach and that’s fine, but it’s obvious that’s the plan. They probably figured they team was closer to having an elite defense than offense so they focused on that. Or they thought there was better defensive talent in FA and the draft this year. I dont really know, but at least I get it. People should try to understand. It makes watching this year much more palatable. -

This is truly an amazing post. The Cardinals HC gets fired and it makes the OP worried about McDermott. What at a time we live in. -

Rosen has Allen beat in one stat, decidedly. Coach killings. I know...I’m trolling sorry. ? -

Josh Rosen is a rich mans Nate Peterman. J/K....rookies do rookie things. It’s happening to Baker, Darnold, Rosen and obviously Allen. People need to chill out and realize that there are no conclusions to be had on these guys for a while. -
Is Nate Peteman the worst QB in NFL history?
dubs replied to bills6969's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Look, maybe you’re a really nice guy. No idea. Peterman is terrible. I know it. You know it. He probably knows it. I’m sure he is at the lowest point in his life. He answered a question honestly and clearly has some sort of faith in his life that’s important to him. Nothing he said blamed his performance on God or his faith. He basically was saying at this lowest moment he is trusting in his faith to help him through. I don’t think it was a good look either but I’m not going to make fun of the guy or people that have faith. He comes across as a genuine, humble person. You come across as an arrogant prick. So so before you start acting in an angry and a condescending way because he mentioned he as some religion he believes in, you may want to think about why it’s necessary to reflexively mock that and understand how much of an a-hole it makes you appear to be. -

Seems like you have quite the God complex. He didn’t tell you anything. He was talking about himself. It’s not preaching and you’re not that bright.
