Did you even read what I wrote? I said, everything doesn’t have to be criticism or praise. Then you come back with a comment about praise. ?♂️ Who cares about Sully anyway. There are hundreds of sources of media about the NFL and Bills. Same goes for Schoop. Both are pretty terrible in my opinion so I stopped reading/listening to them long ago.

Doug Whaley: Director of Pro Personel 2/2010 - 5/2013 General Manager 5/2013 - 4/2017 Bills records those years: 2010 - 4-12 2011 - 6-10 2012 - 6-10 2013 - 6-10 2014 - 9-7 2015 - 8-8 2016 - 7-9 And people want to crucify Beane for cleaning up that mess and building a team from the ground up. Please stop. It’s embarrassing.

ScottsTotts with the amazing take once again. Lets be reallt clear about what they did. They CHOSE to trade away a max 9-7 team for an opportunity to build a Super Bowl contender. The quicker you understand that the less foolish you will look on this anti-Beane crusade, going forward. mind you: what they are doing may not work, but what Whaley was doing was guaranteed to not work.

You literally have no idea what you are talking about. But please, explain how the “Jets jobbed him”. Haha

Beane’s vision and plan is so obvious that when I see threads clearly not understanding what’s going on with the Bills and what they are trying to do I get second hand embarrassment. Someone already wrote it in here, but he’s clearing cap space, acquiring picks, and took a real shot at a franchise QB. It’s really that simple. The outcome can’t really be judged for at least a couple years, but here we are listing fringe roster players as evidence of failure. Haha. This is a perfect example of a not getting it post.

All I know is that as soon as BBMB was condemned, this board drastically changed...not for the better.

What areas of the team has Beane actually improved?

It really amazes me how shortsighted fans on this board are. I guess it makes some sense because if the Bills fail those fans can pull an I told you so, and if they succeed they can enjoy the run. It’s the classic difference between being a critic from afar or being in the circumstance and actually having your career dependent on your success. This regime, rightly in my opinion, made an assessment that the best case scenario for the Bills when they came on board was a wild card team that would get bounced in the playoffs. They also made an assessment, again, rightly in my opinion, that to increase the potential they needed to make some pretty big changes. Things that involved salary cap, draft picks, and paying the right players to be cornerstone pieces to the franchise. They also needed a legit QB. It seems pretty obvious to me their assessment has been right, that they have a vision, and are working toward that vision. This is entirely different and refreshing from previous FOs. Ultimately, they may come up short, and that will deserve criticism. But until that point I don’t see how anyone can truly be unhappy with the direction of this franchise. You should realize that just because the Bengals beating the Ravens happened on the last play of the regular season doesn’t mean any more than the other 6 losses the Ravens has that year or the other 9 wins the Bills had that year. It was more dramatic and fun that way, but if that game happened in September instead you wouldn’t be bringing it up. Bottom line: Bills made the playoff because they had one of the 6 best records including tiebreakers, in the AFC. What so complicated about that. -

Hahaha. If Beane is over his head right now then you are sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic with Rob Ryan attached to your ankle regarding this thread. I’m not sure if Beane’s plan ultimately works, but it’s clear he has a plan and it makes sense and takes some time. It’s much better than perennial mediocre from Whaley and his predecessors. -

My point is that it’s really myopic to look at that. I’d much rather the Bills be where they are now than where they were at the beginning of 2016 or 2017. -

Ok, so basically you’re saying that because in the 15 months he’s been at the helm Beane hasn’t upgraded every position on the roster while acquiring draft picks and getting future cap room that he’s done a bad job or is worse than Whaley? Jeez, get a grip man. -

Comparing any bills teams to the rest of them during the drought is exactly why we needed a new regime. We have to compare favorable to the Pats, Steelers, Eagles, etc.... it’s going to take time oh, and it’s say pointing up. Maybe a step back this year for a few steps forward for years to come. -

I’m not disagreeing this team is looking weak. They had to move mountains to get a potential franchise QB. That was obviously the priority. They also are trying to improve the defense. You can argue about Josh and the defense, but it’s clear to me that’s what they are doing. Next they need to and im sure they will address OL and WR. Its not that complicated to understand. If you are looking at just this year compared to 2016, you’re doing it wrong. -

We have? I don’t remember any real games happening. I really don’t understand how people can doubt this regime. It takes time to build a team and can’t do it in one or two years. They recognized when they came on the team was limited to fringe playoff team and had to tear down and rebuild to raise the ceiling. They are doing that. Be patient. -

Peterman Cumulative Preseason Stats
dubs replied to The Bills Blog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I may be in the minority, but I almost don’t really care what happens this year, especially the beginning of the year. I mean, obviously want the Bills to win and look good, but I mostly care about building a team around Josh Allen. It’s going to take some time, which is why my patience is high right now. The really need to prioritize oline and WR, ASAP. Can’t do everything at once, so had to be the next phase in the building process. -

I agree. Same thing as Tyrod. But, it prob makes sense to go with Peterman it AJ to start the season, given how terrible the OLine is. -
Hah! We need one order of an extra thick skin suit here.

Data Analytics is all about probabilities, not certainties. Good analysts see the flaws in the data and exploit them. If everyone subscribed to the same data and the same way of interpreting it, then there would be no advantages to be had. Anyone who looks at “completion percentage” and thinks that it’s going to predict the future is just flat out wrong. It’s a helpful data point and does help make projections, but there are also literally hundreds of other factors to consider. Im not suggesting I am that person to make predictions, just know it’s not as simple as so many people want to believe it is.
