  1. Corporate Josh as some have called him plays a winning style that while less exciting will keep him available and avoid turnovers. He still takes chances and such just not as crazy.
  2. I get your point on Laker fan ridiculous trades my point was that the fanbase has reasons to at least be somewhat delusional or at least overly optimistic given the trades that the organization has pulled off time and time again that were at the time of the trade rather lopsided. The Bills have no history of fleecing teams at the time of trade so no idea why fans would be so delusional. The Raiders would have to eat a lot of money for it to work for the Bills. I honestly don't see that happening. I don't know if the Raiders could even pay money on next season's contract either. I think the "big name" trade targets just won't manifest. Look to smaller or mid-level players. I would for sure look at Patterson from Atlanta as a name that could be avaialble.
  3. The Lakers did land Pau Gasol for a pair of first-round picks and an expiring contract (The Grizzlies did get Marc Gasol but he was a low-value throw-in) and even last season the Lakers got Rui for a pair of second-round picks. The Lakers at least have a history of lopsided trades that they can go off of. The Bills have never fleeced a team so badly at the time of the trade like the Lakers have several times.
  4. Renfrow has a huge cap number of 13 million this season and a 5.5 million dead cap next season. Although I am not sure Carolina will trade Thielen his numbers are far more manageable this season and next season cap-wise. I think the Bills likely won't have the cap space to acquire anyone that's going to massively change the complexion of the receiving core outside of maybe Thielen who is a risk at his age. Jerry Jeudy is the best player available outside of maybe Thielen if he hits the trade market and he isn't a difference maker in my opinion at least not currently. Mike Evans likely isn't going to be available due to the fact that the Bucs will likely be in contention for their division. I think if the Bills are going to make an offensive addition it's going to be similar to Hines last year. A quality role player who may add a dimension to the offense (if used correctly) but isn't going to be a massive difference-maker. I think Patterson from Atlanta or Mecole Hardman from the Jets are decent options to add more speed to the offense. Both teams aren't using those relatively cheap players.
  5. According to Spotrac the Bills have about 5.6 million in cap space and I don't know if they could do a mid-season restructure but if they could they could add about 4 million in space by restructuring Dawkins. That's a pretty tight cap situation esp if they can't do any restructuring. But Thielen's contract is pretty manageable. His cap hit for this season is about 3.3 million and his cap hit for next season is 9.9 million but can be restructured down to 6.55 which for a quality vet WR isn't bad. Could any of the TBD cap scientists put into perspective Thielen's contract if the Bills were to trade for him? What would be the cap hit the rest of this season along with the dead cap issues and cap numbers going forward? I would easily give up a 4th or 5th for him but not so sure I would want to eat a big dead cap number anytime soon for him either.
  6. The Bills have to spread the ball around. DC's will double and maybe even double with shaded zone Diggs and dare the Bills to beat them via the run or to other targets. I honestly would like to see them get Shakir involved more in the offense. Every time I see Shakir he always makes a solid catch. The only time I saw him make misses was on the 2pt conversion which was more Josh's fault and the attempted shoulder catch which was still a good attempt at a difficult catch. Every game it seems he always makes one good catch that comes up with critical yards. My hope is that the Bills have a semblance of a ground game this season and some better supplemental targets to go to. Although a trade for another weapon in the receiving game would help.
  7. I stand corrected, I thought he got caught penetrating which they had been doing most of the game well. Giants noticed that and took advantage with a couple of traps. The Bills adjusted back quickly. I think a trade for a 1T DT will likely be in the cards come the deadline along with a depth CB due to the fact that Dane's injury is not something that "goes away" really with a few weeks rest.
  8. Williams will have some growing pains but he had some nice plays and was all over the field. He just needs more time and experience to stop over pursuing and be in the right place more consistently. But he looks like he belongs which is a good sign. Hopefully by December he is a lot better.
  9. Outside of the two trap plays that Barkley broke off the Giants didn’t have much success running the ball up the middle. I know Ford was on the field for those trap plays but I don’t think getting caught on the trap was his fault. Hard to really figure out how he played esp against a bad Giants offensive line.
  10. I tossed the Bengals in there off reputation and the fact that if Joe Burrow gets somewhat healthy they will be a lot better on offense even if their offensive line is still a big issue for them. They survived the bad start and are back at .500 can’t rule them out
  11. I get it but trust your defense, they had played great all game
  12. I would have to watch the game again but Dorsey at least turned to the ground game in the second half. The first half was a ***** show but I really think that while the play calling could have been better it was the Gabe fumble and the great tips by the Giants MLB that stalled the offense’s momentum. Dorsey should have leaned on the ground game early once it was clear the offense was sputtering at least he got with the program later in the game.
  13. Outside of the Browns Those teams don’t have the QB play to be competitive with elite teams in my opinion. Houston I do like as a solid team but much like the Bills in 2019 I think they are a year away. Kirk Cousins exercising his no trade also means no decent QB is going to be there via trade either. So those teams are likely “stuck” with their Qb situations.
  14. The NFL changes on a dime week to week. I think in the NFC the Lions have entered the conversation with the Eagles and Niners. In the AFC I think you have 5-6 teams really in the mix with KC, Buffalo, Miami, Baltimore, Jacksonville and Cincy all in the mix.
  15. I think he came back 3 weeks later as one week was a bye week. But you are correct he only missed a game
  16. The Giants smartly ran a bunch of trap plays and McD smartly adjusted the defense.
  17. If Josh is good then I think the only major injury was Harris. Hopefully Harris injury isn’t as serious as it looked. I thought Dane Jackson last season had a season ending and career threatening injury last year and he only ended up missing a few weeks somehow
  18. I trust that the Bills WR’s and TE’s will get it going with more time. I think it’s better to have these “clunkers” in October in order to work on things early in the season. I think the offensive line has been doing good and is very encouraging. As long as Josh is healthy and hopefully the Harris injury isn’t as serious as it looked (I hope this is like Dane Jackson’s injury last year when he got carted off in an ambulance and ended up only missing a few weeks somehow) then the Bills got out decent on the injury front. Kincaid and Dane got the night off so that’s also going to hopefully lead to them being available next week. The Bills offense ran right at the Giants strongest defensive point their DT combo and MLB and had they needed to they easily could have ran for a lot more had they had more opportunities. They got 4.4 per carry with Josh only accounting for 2 carries on 11 yards and that average was probably higher if not for close down situations that they usually converted on. Torrence and McGovern really have allowed the Bills to have a power running game
  19. This game I thought the offensive line played fine enough to win. That Gabe Davis fumble and the Josh INT along with some drops really hurt the Bills chance to get offensive momentum. I will say this the defense was impressive, they made the big plays when they needed to. Dorian Williams and Bernard held up at LB while the defensive line forced the Giants into a game plan that was focused on quick throws and QB movement. Outside of a few trap plays they adjusted to quickly the ground game of the Giants was cut down to size: This game shouldn’t have been this close but a win is a win
  20. The Bills are frequently favorites and bad to mediocre teams try to start ***** when they are big underdogs. I don’t think it works as the refs blow the whistle more when one team is instigating
  21. He had one good pass rush that got a pressure but he was pretty invisible most of the game. But this is only his second game back from a serious injury. I wouldn’t be pressing the panic button just yet on him but so far he at best looks to be a work in progress
  22. Hopefully this is precautionary and Josh is Ok. Biggest long term concerns from this game is Josh and Harris.
  23. My thoughts was there was a lot of “mutual” contact so they are the whistle
  24. Good teams get some ugly wins and that’s what this was. Take the W and move on
  25. Still a very strong top 5-10 defense that I suspect if it has a smaller need like CB depth or the need for a starting DT or LB will get some support at the trade deadline
