  1. Eagles fans are one of the few fanbases that over hate on their team. The Eagles have been one of the most successful franchises since the year 2000 and if you listen to their fanbase you would think they were as successful as the Bills. Now that being said this year's Eagles team has some serious flaws. Their secondary is complete trash, their WR core is banged up, their O-line is mediocre, their front seven is decent but not dominant and Wentz is not playing well. So for once their negative assessment about the team is accurate.
  2. Wouldn't mind the move, but considering he still has one year left on his rookie deal with an option pick up possible I don't think the Titans are going to move on from him without getting a high pick (I would say at least a 3rd but more likely a 2nd is what they would want and not get.) He looked to be getting some traction last year but has been pretty flat this year. I know it is illness related so it isn't a sign that he is traded. But overall I wouldn't mind taking on Davis for a mid-round pick but it isn't likely to happen.
  3. He has looked out of shape in New England and far from the dynamic explosive player he was in Cleveland. I wouldn't hate kicking the tires on him but it isn't as good a move as it looks on paper.
  4. A "Swing for the Fences" type deal would be to trade for Keenan Allen or Mike Evans. Both are fairly young WR's who should have 3-5 more quality seasons left in the tank at a high level. I think it would at least require a 1st round pick to get it done but considering the glaring need for a WR opposite Brown both immediately and in the near future you have a justification for such a high investment. I am not sure that type of move fits the process at all. I think (and this is my personal speculation based off of how the current regime has handled things in the past) they aren't going to be willing to part with anything more than a 3rd round pick at this point. So I think a modest upgrade is what they are going to be what is looked into more by the team. I would think they would be on the radar for a Devante Parker type who would bring a talented big bodied receiver who wouldn't command a big cost but offers the size and ability missing from the current core. Marvin Jones is another type of player they could target but given that he is on an affordable deal for 2020 he isn't likely on the market. But I would love Allen or Evans if they feel this is really a win now type situation. But I don't see the cost being reasonable for both sides.
  5. Before the Pats game PFF was saying how they might have to eat some crow on Josh Allen. So they aren't dogmatic in how they hate him, but there certainly is a bias.
  6. He is producing like one for sure. The Bills still need more punch at the WR position but they should feel good about Brown.
  7. Josh is improving in how he plays. His footwork and touch in the short and medium game are improving massively. His decision making is still suspect but he seems to be forcing things less after the disaster that was the Pats game. He also seems to be learning not to always run to his right at the first sign of pressure. He still is going to have some bad throws here or there but I think he is in general heading in the right direction.
  8. Lots of teams are worse but a lot of teams are better too. The Bills right now have an injured unproven veteran, a good blocking tight end (a niche position), a super raw rookie with a lot of potential and another rookie whose ceiling is a fringe starter and needs development. None of these players are making much of an impact. Knox shows his flashes but he also has a lot of bad plays too. Sweeney hasn't been much of a factor and Kroft is often hurt. Lee Smith is doing his role but as I said it is a niche position. Bottom line I like Knox and Sweeney as a combo long term but the production from the position at the moment is bottom 10 in the league.
  9. No, I think they should establish the hell out of the run early and switch to play action. No huddle early should only be done if you are down big and looking to make a comeback.
  10. It's not just anecdotal stories of contractors getting stiffed, Trump has had numerous lawsuits from various contracts complaining about him not fulfilling his obligations, not to mention the other lawsuits about defrauding customers many of which he settled out of court on. So this isn't just rumor and innuendo that he isn't an honest or ethical businessman there is both a paper trail and the known word about him. Even a lot of people who used to be fairly high up in his inner circle have commented that he isn't an ethical business person. When Bernie Sanders and Ron Paul were both in the capital those two were the only two Congresspeople (and then Bernie became a senator) who lobbyist were told not to waste their time on. I don't think anyone is perfect (And I don't get this idea that him being a millionaire is hypocritical since he has never said no one should be successful, the only thing he has stated is that it is kind of crazy billionaires exist at the same time as massive childhood poverty and crumbling infrastructure.) But as far as someone who actually believes in an ideology and isn't swayed by big monied interest give me the guy that lobbyist hate and who is funded by small dollar donations. Hate his politics fine, I don't like Ron Paul's economic agenda at all but I can at least respect the fact that although he isn't perfect he is someone who actually believes is something. I get that you don't care that he is honest or ethical. Jimmy Carter was an honest ethical person but he wasn't good at getting stuff done. But to pretend that Trump is honest or less corrupt is just a fairytale.
  11. Kroft has been hurt thus far a non-factor and Knox is super raw. Sweeney I look at as more of a potential high end backup. Lee Smith is more of a niche player. I don't look at the tight end talent and think it is great. I don't think there is a market to find a quality tight end so the point is moot. But I do look at the tight end position and think wow look at all the talent there. Don't get me wrong I love Knox's potential and Sweeney can be a good role player but those guys aren't ready to be starters just yet. I don't look at the position as a deep position as the quality isn't there.
  12. The way I look at it is you have to get to 9-2. You have 5 games coming up. Eagles, Redskins, At Cleveland, At Miami and then the Broncos. If you factor in a fluky loss in 5 games (it is the NFL things happen) then you set yourself up to be 9-2 going into your toughest stretch of the season where you play the Ravens, Cowboys, Pats, and Steelers. Where even if you were to go 1-3 in that stretch you could still get to 10-5 going into a home game against the Jets. Just take care of your ***** against the Eagles at home. Beat the teams you are supposed to beat. That's how you get to a winning record.
  13. Peyton did have a prolific offense the previous 3 seasons including that record setting 2013 year. But in 2015 Peyton was broken down and at best a game manager who used his veteran smarts to compensate for a poor physical profile. He definitely got carried to that second ring.
  14. Democrat lawyers? Setting aside that Muller is a Republican. I will just say that this is a belief from how embedded Trump's business ties are with Russia and how well connected he is to Russian Oligarchs and a lot of coincidences that happened timing wise. I acknowledged that this is what I believe and implied that it is speculation. To me it is irrelevant since I don't think he is the only campaign to have back channel communications with foreign entities. The real proof of Trump's corruption stems from his businesses and how many entities funnel money to him through them.
  15. Not sure what Tight ends are out on the market? OJ Howard would at least cost a 2nd if the Bucs are even looking to take a call on him. That is a bit too rich for my blood. Kyle Rudolph wouldn't cost much draft capital wise but I am not sure his cap number and production are a difference maker. I am also not sure what other Tight ends could be out on the market?
  16. Your original point was that out of all the people Trump has worked with that no one has ever said bad things about him. That isn't true at all was my point. By the early 90's Trump had developed such a bad reputation for stiffing contractors that no one would work with him (one of the contributing factors to his bankruptcies was not getting cheap labor to do his work was done for essentially below cost.) There are numerous examples of Trump being hated and vilified for how he ran his businesses. There is also a lot of hearsay about Trump working with organized crime in the 1980's and 1990's using his casinos and other properties to launder money (which isn't shocking as that is super common in construction.) But I will say that that is just rumors but a heavily circulated one. I also think that there are degrees of things. Almost everyone to run for president since Jimmy Carter has not been an ethical person (The only exceptions to this I would say off the top of my head would be Ron Paul and Bernie Sanders say what you will about their policies but they are the only people in the Capital where lobbyists didn't bother with them.) I ask myself how bad is their corruption and are they a competent person? Dick Cheney is an insanely corrupt person but I will give him this he knows how to get things done (Mainly awful things.) Trump is neither ethical nor competent. He is haphazard and ill thought out. He reeks of corruption and someone looking to enrich his business interests. He constantly shoots himself in the foot with bad decision making and doesn't seem to have a plan on how to do anything. I don't get what people see in this guy other than he pushes Republican policies.
  17. Sanu is more of a slot guy in my opinion, so I didn't see the fit and the cost was a bit outrageous as you said. I am not sure Miami would deal Parker within the division but I would trade a 5th or 4th for Parker.
  18. AJ Green has yet to play a snap this season. I think people are falling in love with the name and not realizing that he hasn't played yet and might not play for another 2-3 weeks at best. Green was still a quality WR last time he played even if injuries and age took a bit off of him. With Sanders off the market I am not sure where to pivot to.
  19. Seems like a reasonable cost for a quality receiver. Especially considering that Sanders could net a 3rd round comp pick or a 4th round comp pick at worst. I would have loved to get Josh another quality veteran weapon like Sanders. I didn't like the fit with Sanu as it seemed like he was a better slot receiver and Beasley fills that need for the Bills. But Sanders is a quality outside weapon who might not have filled the void completely for a number 1 WR but certainly would have rounded out the WR core and balanced it out. I think this team has to be on the lookout for whatever else is on the market possibly. There is a significant need to get someone across from Brown that will take pressure off of Brown and open things up a bit more for Beasley. Not to say that the team should go crazy or over the top with a trade but if there is something that could be had at a good price why not pull the trigger on a trade?
  20. I agree that the Russia Gate thing was mostly non-sense. I personally believed that the notion that Trump was some Manchurian candidate was silly and although I do believe that his campaign did exchange info and coordinate with Russia in an indirect capacity but that was all done through back channels and through proxies things that wouldn't lead a paper trail and likely there was going to be a fall guy anyway. Overall I thought that at worst there was going to be an Oliver North type to take the fall. That's not to say that Trump's campaign is possibly the first to ever have that type of information exchange with another country but that's another story. But Trump's corruption isn't tied solely to Russia or Ukraine. It is very obvious to me that Trump is using his office to help his business interests which is a huge form of corruption. Trump vetoed a fairly bi-partisan piece of legislation aimed at stopping a genocide in Yemen and stop arming an Islamic Extremist regime to a government that just so happens to do a lot of business with Trump and his family. It doesn't stop there either. There are numerous examples of Trump giving favors to those who do business with him and his businesses. Even the Muller investigation was a very limited scope investigation where they were just looking into Russian collusion. They didn't look into Trump's business dealing outside of Russia. So to say you think Trump is clean because the Muller report only found somewhat minor things is missing the scope of the investigation and ignoring very real conflicts of interest and overall awful business dealings. And once again I don't care about the politics, Dems do it too does not justify someone else's corruption.
  21. If you live in the NYC Metro area you will hear a lot of horror stories about Trump. The two most common being his exploitation of Polish Immigrants (most of whom were illegal) and stiffing contractors. I knew personally two of my friends growing up dads who worked for construction companies that went bankrupt due to Trump not paying them out on a deal in the 1980's. You also have the numerous sexual harassment complaints (although to be fair that is common for executives in that era) but yeah in NYC, Long Island, and New Jersey almost everyone knows him from his corrupt and shady business dealings as opposed to being a reality TV star. You don't have to go far to find a story of someone getting stiffed or screwed by Trump and these stories have been around the area well before Trump went Fox News conservative. As far as how successful he actually is in business? I don't know, I think he was very good at building a brand but his actual real estate and casino dealings don't seem to be successful as even his dad had to buy millions of dollars of chips and not cash them to help float that operation.
  22. Corruption is hosting an event at a venue to which you stand to profit or gain from hosting it there, to think "at cost" exists in this situation is hilarious. Corruption is vetoing a Congressional override of a weapons deal for a country that just so happens to put a lot of money into buying hotel rooms that no one stays at. Corruption is also leveraging your political office to get your son a lucrative job. You can think both things are corruption.
  23. As someone who worked in a not for profit it is a bit more complicated than simply not making money. You have to distribute at least 65% of the money into program costs while only 35% of the money can be used on administration and fundraising (most of the more legitimate charities will have a self imposed 75% threshold.) What is considered a program cost (or costs that actually go to the cause that the charity is being funded) is highly regulated as you can't say anyones salary is a program cost. So for example if you run a cancer research non-profit you can't say that a consultant or an administrator is part of your program costs. Those types of costs can't exceed 35% of your total costs or you are in violation of the law and you lose you tax exempt status. Now the money you put towards a research grant would qualify under a program cost. So you aren't just obligated to not have profits it is a model based on distributing money. Now I am sure there are ways that the Clinton Foundation and other non-profits have skirted this system. But in general your assessment of how non-profits work is not accurate.
  24. Corruption is a huge issue in America and I don't think the scope is limited to just Trump. But that doesn't mean that Trump isn't corrupt. I don't understand how you can't think Trump is corrupt. There are numerous examples of foreign entities doing business at Trump businesses and then Trump doing a lot of favors for those companies. For example the Saudi government repeatedly books massive blocks of hotel rooms at his properties (linked below to one example) and he vetos legislation to stop arming them for the genocide in Yemen. The Russia Gate investigation was non-sense but the real case against Trump being corrupt is him using his office to funnel business to his own businesses. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/saudi-funded-lobbyist-paid-for-500-rooms-at-trumps-hotel-after-2016-election/2018/12/05/29603a64-f417-11e8-bc79-68604ed88993_story.html
  25. I see your point, but my point is the Fins aren't just a bad team they are a tragically bad team. They only had 3ish minutes of leading teams all season. So I don't think it is unfair to say that the Bills put the game significantly in doubt well into the game. The Bills weren't just trailing they were trailing by 5 half way through the 3rd with the Fins knocking on the door. I am not so sure this team comes back down 21-9. Once again if this was a mediocre team these things can happen but against the worst team in the league it shouldn't be that fragile. Overall I think that a win is a win in the NFL and good team find ways to win close games. But my main concern is did the Fins provide a blue print to attack the defense? Fitz is a decent QB but not a great one and his receivers are suspect but big. If another team with better players follows that blueprint does it become more successful? I do trust McD to adjust as I think he is a good defensive coach but if Levi can get picked on this way then that might make the defense more vulnerable.
