  1. Yes to all that plus Polian getting himself fired, Butler putting the franchise in cap hell. From there it just spiraled out of control.
  2. I tried to be hopeful about Ryan, the minute he was announced as the Bills coach my brother called him a blow hard, he was right. Ryan's defense was bad. People keep pointing out the players that were let to walk or cut, Gilmore is the only one that I think you can make an argument for, but he didn't have a great year. Some of it can be blamed on Ryan's "genius", but it is hard to blame poor tackling on that. What about Lawson and Ragland? Yeah Lawson looked lost, but so did some veterans. Can we give these guys the benefit of the doubt? My gut tells me the defense will be better. Did everyone forget that Ryan fired the OC after two games? By the way the offense didn't lose the Jet game, the defense did. Ryan should have fired himself. Taylor's inability to throw a slant is infuriating, but last season's WR situation was bad. Watkins injured and after him the only legitimate guy was Woods, who is a nice third, but certainly not a first or second. They need to find a legitimate second, if they do the guys they have signed have to be better than last year's street FAs. My gut tells me the offense will be better. As for special teams I think a new long snapper will make all the difference, just kidding. New kicker with same problem as the old one, same punter and same coach. At least there isn't a need for kickoff specialist. I have no gut on this squad.
  3. Other than Watkins, who was hurt, the WR position was not good. Woods is a number 3 receiver and the rest were just bodies. I have no problem with blowing this position up.
  4. Even though he was drafted in1995 I think you have to count Todd Collins he was the heir apparent. Then there were trades and free agent signings. I wonder what the success rate of each method is.
  5. You do understand that Taylor was never a FA, thus no other teams could talk to him. And how do you know that no trade discussion took place?
  6. Actually it's the City and "up there". He scored a 3, worse than Claiborne.
  7. I think it says "upper northeast", which I didn't know was a thing.
  8. I honestly had to Google the guy.
  9. Good one
  10. Is there some reason that this is not an option? Are they worried about hurting Glenn's feelings? I guess we don't know.
  11. It is amazing that some people don't recognize this.
  12. I hate Thursday night games.
  13. Who the hell are all the new guys?
  14. Like a "3" would be a sure thing for you.
  15. At a position where rookies can produce, Williams was unimpressive.
  16. Fine, but the discussion has been about tanking and loading up on draft picks. If this strategy works then why based on that 1987 trade did the Colts and the Rams not become successful during the decade following that trade?
  17. So over the next decade which of those teams became a dynasty of sorts? It was not the two that received multiple draft picks.
  18. I can't think of one example of an NFL team has made multiple trades of players for draft choices. I can think of a few single trades.like Herschel Walker, but did Dallas make any other significant trades that year?
  19. I don't get why people don't understand this, you are absolutely right.
  20. Having waited on him as a bartender I found him to be a condescending stiff. Montana
  21. It happened at Peartrees on 49th St and 1st Ave. Peartrees was a watering hole for athletes, sports writers and personalities, among other assorted characters. I had worked there, but was no longer. The bartender, John "Shirts" Hughes, a friend of mine was notorious in the sports community. It was Sunday night after the games and after their show. I wasn't paying close attention but a heated discussion turned to shoving, which resulted in a punch. It ended quickly. Musberger left immediately, followed shortly thereafter by Jimmy "the Greek".
