The fact that Coleman is performing as well as he has in the first three practices is an extremely positive sign that he will be a significant contributor to the offense as a rookie.

I'm really starting to love this WR room. We quietly got better
Magox replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can envision a realistic scenario that as a whole the entire receiving group including RB's and TE's will perform at a highly efficient level without any WR being considered a top 15% WR in the league. Samuels is going to surprise people this year, he's a much better intermediate route runner than people realize. Shakir is going to continue to ascend and be another productive receiver. Coleman will have a better rookie season than I think people are expecting out of him for this year. I think he's going to be a really good red zone target and will bail out Josh similar to what Diggs and Davis would do on those scramble plays. The other wide receivers will perform better than most WR 4 and WR 5's in the league. Dalton Kincaid is going to break out and become a household name. Knox will be a top end TE #2 in the league. Cook is an upper tier receiving RB Ray Davis will show that he is a quality receiving RB Ty Johnson/Gore will also get their catches when given opportunities. As a whole the receiving group I think will perform better than TBD expectations. -
Bills 2024 Training Camp! (related content only please)
Magox replied to Donuts and Doritos's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think so. I understand the concept of judging him by his performance last year and combining that with his age to come to that conclusion. It makes sense. However, the vast majority of players who rely on their athletic skill set to excel at their positions struggle the year after that sort of an injury. He was beginning to show signs of improvement at the end of the year and there have been plenty of players that have done well at his age. When you factor that with what some people have been saying about how he appears to have regained his athleticism at least looks much improved from where he was just 6-9 months ago and his recent statements that he's made. Before he was Mr. positivity on pretty much everything now he sounds like Mr. chip on his shoulder and he is fully aware at least in his mind that how he does this year is going to play a factor into his legacy. I think if he can avoid injury this year he will be a 6 - 10 sack guy this season. -

I think Samuels is going to surprise fans this year, I think he'll end up being a reliable intermediate target receiver as well. -

This isn't difficult, the Bills traded back knowing they could get Coleman or another WR that they would have had rated right around as high as Coleman and pick up a couple more picks. If the Bills had picked Worthy with their original pick very few people would have complained and probably would have been somewhat satisfied with how the Bills addressed the Receiver spot in the draft. But since they picked Coleman which wasn't rated as high on TBD and it was a trade back some of those same people now believe the Receiver spot was not sufficiently addressed. It's clear the Bills think otherwise, they disagree with all your assessments and your expert evaluations. We'll find out soon enough if Coleman was a good selection and one side of the debate will come out on top. My hunch is that Coleman will end up being a solid starting WR in this league. -
Who was your all-time favorite player that was NOT on the Bills?
Magox replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I loved the way Troy Polamalu played the game. -
I'm cautiously optimistic of the pass rush Solomon can bring to the team.
-
If the Bills do anything the 3 positions that they most likely would target would be Edge, safety and CB.
-
I think we lack depth on the boundaries at CB as well, I know there is some hope for Elam and Ingram but until they show consistency it's a concern. Also depth and potentially quality at the starting spot at safety. The pass rush has the potential to be decent at the edge but if Epenesa and Groot don't continue to improve and Vonn doesn't return back to a semblance of who we was just a couple years ago this could be problematic. The WR spot, even though there is good potential there with Shakir, Samuels, MVS, Claypool and Coleman, some of these guys haven't done it consistently in the NFL over the past few years. I am not nearly as low as some of the posters are on this group but also recognize that if they did perform like a bottom unit it wouldn't be outside of the realm.

Von Miller/Epenesa/Groot.......over/under 20 combined sacks??
Magox replied to Special K's topic in The Stadium Wall
Epenesa not as the starter and injured for a few games was 6.5 last year. He has seemed to ascend at a moderate pace pretty much every year. If he can remain healthy I think he will get 8+ this year. Groot will probably be somewhere around 6-7. Von before the injury was ripping it up and you could definitely tell last year that he lacked any explosion and bend which you would reasonably believe had to do with the ACL injury. If Von can remain healthy I could definitely see him getting 6+ sacks. A lot of if's in there, I guess I would go with the under but I wouldn't be surprised to see them get 20+ either. -
How would Buffalo perform with Kirk Cousins?
Magox replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh probably wins you 1 1/12 to 2 more games a year over Cousins. -

Injuries, headcase and he wasn't committed.

Matt Parrino - "Claypool has been most consistent WR during OTAs"
Magox replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
The zone defenses he likes to primarily use are successful during the season but against Mahomes and Burrow they carve it up. I think eventually they need to do what some of the other top defenses do which is play a higher level of snaps of physical man coverage. Unfortunately we don't really have the personnel to do that, if Elam can become who the Bills thought he could be he could be an option but the other boundary guys are not man specialists. -

I've read this anecdotally as well, that they are high on Ingram and that they believe that he can be a good replacement of Dane. The Bills have been good at turning prospects into good contributing players. -

I've been scrolling through the comments and all I've been hearing is how "practice squad Ingram" has been winning against Coleman. I read just about all the articles from camp and nowhere did I see that the only thing I read which you just posted was that Coleman beat Ingram in one of the two reps. I thought maybe I had missed something. -
What to do with the post June $10 M that will be available
Magox replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cam Lewis and Hardy are NB defenders, we are good in depth there. Where we don't have much depth are on the boundaries, we truly have only 3 tested players there and Ingram. All it takes is an injury and that spot is looking very worrisome. At the safety spot you have two tested players in Edwards and Rapp, Hamlin hasn't showed much and Bishop who I like a lot is still an untested rookie. The team likes to play with 3 safety alignments, so that's another position if you get an injury then that means Hamlin will be thrust into playing. That's another position where we lack depth. -

Magox replied to Magox's topic in The Stadium Wall
Our outside boundary corners are Douglas, Benford, Elam and Ingram. Safeties are (R) Bishop, Rapp, Edwards and Hamlin. We are lacking depth at these positions, an injury or two and those position groupings are in trouble. -
As everyone knows, there will soon be $10M available because of the Tre White release. What do you think the Bills should do with that money? Personally for me and I know this won't be a popular take among the most ardent WR proponents, I believe this team is lacking depth at safety and CB. I think the Bills should look to get another player that is borderline starting quality for both of those positions to compete for a starting spot or be in the every Sunday rotation. I could see the Bills look to get another quality rotational DT but aside from that, I think the Bills are set to go into this next coming season.

Caleb Williams is off to a rough rookie start
Magox replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I honestly don’t know how he will turn out but there is something about him that seems too scripted and I just can’t help thinking of all those end of season failures he had when it mattered most. Idk, I don’t believe he is what many people think of being this sure fire All pro player. He could end being that guy, he certainly has phenomenal off-schedule QB abilities but I have my doubts.
