  1. I wonder if it's possible to post anything on this board without getting flamed. This is just a link so the title get's flamed. Classic. In regards to the material at hand, my personal favorite was the Dallas - Pittsburgh SB that he lists as number 3. That game had an Ali - Frazier feel to it. Both teams coming off recent championships and clearly the two best teams of that era. The game was not bad either with a classic Staubach led Cowboys rally falling just short. Given the short memories of most of these lists just the fact that it's so high all these years later shows how memorable it was.
  2. I believe that this is also known as a matchup zone and I don't think it's that new to the NFL. I see other teams using it alot and I seem to remember a fair amount of it with the Bills under Perry Fewell. Here's more information that you ever wanted to know on the subject: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8428129/dick-lebeau-evolution-coverage-tactics-zone-blitz

  4. Wtf does anybody need a house like that for? Is it just to show everyone how big his wallet is or is it to make up for how small something else is?
  5. It's Mayhem time in Cincinnati.
  6. It's surprising that the Bills won 6 games last season when 23 of their top 26 players are either "great" or "good". On one of the worst defenses in the history of the franchise, 12 out of the top 13 players are "great" or "good"? I think your methodology needs to be re-examined.
  7. And Chan was so good and getting the most out of his talent that he went 16-32 over 3 years and was fired.
  8. He does look slow, but oddly still effective. If anyone should've been able to take advantage of him it was NE with their passing game over the middle. I think he's doing it with mirrors. Maybe SF speed will expose him.
  9. I heard that Lee is going to try and get Sanchez to start throwing left handed to improve his mechanics.
  10. Patriots and 49er are going through. Easily. 10+ point spreads for each team.
  11. I can see how the press might be a little put off by the way the Bills are interacting with them. I thought the press conference announcing the hire was anything but open and the marketing of the new staff has definitely been carefully choreographed. I don't think it will be long before reporters are pining for Chan Gailey and Dick Jauron with their frank assessments of how they are failing.
  12. Me too. End to the running game problems and Revis + Gilmore + Byrd means one of the best secondaries in the NFL in the passing age. OK. Willis & Boldin.
  13. It would be nice to update the concession stands and the bathrooms, but I have to confess that the renderings are not all that inspiring. There's nothing in all the jagged shapes and glass that says "football" or "buffalo" or even "sporting event" to me. It looks pretty generic and relatively cheap without any "wow that's cool" ideas. Wouldn't it be great if they went for the brass ring and build a new top of the line facility and forget putting lipstick on this pig?
  14. Was that shaking some coaches hand after a game?
  15. If allowing 35 points and 400 yards of offense, and 31 points and 350 yards of offense qualifies as "shut down" in this day and age then I think the OPs point is obviously made.
  16. He's going to "fix" him alright.
  17. It's all just a game of musical chairs. Whisenhunt, Reid, Smith all fired from one team and move to another. I don't get it if it happens. Wouldn't you think that the franchise that they've been coaching with for multiple years knows them pretty well? Why they would get rid of quality head coaches if they were ready to pick right up with another team and do well? At the very least, these guys need some time away from the head position to gain some perspective. I'm not in favor of any of these guys.
  18. How does Hue Jackson make this list so soon after his debacle at Oakland?
  19. If true then it sounds like good news for the rest of the league.
  20. These two things are close to the truth, IMO. Wisenhunt looked like a genius when his offense was dismantling the vaunted Pittsburgh defense in the Super Bowl. Now he's an idiot. I wonder if Gailey would've been a HOF coach with a big time QB. Joe Gibbs?
  21. Bills have so many needs. Take the BPA with the top pick. QB, LB, WR, S, CB or OT. I am not dead set on taking a QB #1 as long as they get one in the top 3 rounds.
  22. So you're saying that based on Mark Gaughan's article this morning, we can take it to the bank that the Bills will fire both Nix and Gailey this week?
  23. Bill Belichick was a failed head coachin Cleveland before the Pats tapped him. Mike Shanahan was a failed head coach in LA before the Broncos tapped him. When you don't have a QB, you are going to be a failed head coach 9 times out of 10.
  24. I'm sure that he's here to see the game and/or for the party, otherwise he could just fly in for whatever announcement next week.
