  1. Actually Buddy said specifically that he was not a guard. I believe the quote was "hell no he's not a guard".
  2. I hope it sounds funny after the season is over. I'm actually pretty worried about the OL. There are lots of possible reasons that they may struggle heading into next season.
  3. The Bills are definitely going to draft a QB. The only question is what round. I have a question however: besides Tom Brady what QB taken in the 5th round or later (in recent years) ever amounted to anything?
  4. Do you mean "rather than" instead of "then", Mr. Grammarian?
  5. Now, how do you expect anyone to take anything else that you have to say seriously after saying things like this?
  6. This is a concern as well. If Wisenhunt and Reid couldn't make Kolb work why should we believe that Marrone can?
  7. For all the people saying that Kolb will finally shine behind the Bills OL, I think that we are going to see a drop off from the OL this season. Gone is Gailey and his quick, short passing game. Gone is Fitz and his ability to adjust blocking schemes vs blitzes. Gone is Levitre, arguably the best pass blocker on the Bills OL. In comes Kolb, one of the most sacked QBs in the NFL. This doesn't sound like a recipe for a good season by the OL.
  8. Another separate Kevin Kolb thread?
  9. If only the modern NFL worked that way. The Vikings had a running back with one of the top seasons in NFL history and barely made the playoffs, and were eliminated in the first round.
  10. Who was the last 7 year vet QB who bounced to his third team and went from mediocre to a star?
  11. Can't afford a QB competition between two no-future veterans with a rookie who needs reps and attention in training camp and preseason sitting on the sidelines.
  12. This is already in the other Kolb thread.
  13. Kolb is not the answer. He has failed with two organizations. Who was the last QB to do that and then turn out to be a top player? It doesn't happen. And the Bills already have a stop gap veteran in Jackson so what's the point of this?
  14. I agree with most of this. He's just another guy really. I fail to see the reason to pay a 5th year vet salary for that.
  15. I would buy that too. Or maybe BPA at #8 and then trade back up into the middle of the 1st round for the QB.
  16. How about taking the BPA at #8 and then trading UP back into the late middle of the first round and trying to take your QB there? The Bills only have 6 picks so they would pretty much shoot their wad in their first two picks but if the two guys are good then and especially if one is a QB then it would be worth it.
  17. Sound reasoning, but who wants the Bills #1 pick? And would someone like Buddy who historically sticks to his spot make a move like this?
  18. Also Anderson as possible WOLB. I see him playing more than Moats. I don't think Williams can play on an exposed end. Frankly, I'm not sure that Dareus can either but I think he has a better shot. It will be a challenge for Pettine to find a way to use Williams productively in a 3-4 IMO, but that's what he gets paid for.
  19. 3-4 OLBs need to be able to rush the passer. Bradham hasn't shown this ability. I could see him as the WILB with Sheppard as the SILB and drafting a WOLB.
  20. I'll wait until they actually sign somebody before I get too excited.
  21. FA is for the other guys. Bills will draft their way to greatness.
  22. I wonder if the Bills wouldn't be better served to forget trying to draft a "franchise QB" this season and try to do it next year. I have a feeling that their draft position would be better and that there will be a better QB class to choose from.
  23. Do the Bills get three picks in each round this year or something? I hear how they are going to bring in a rookie OG, WR, QB, TE, LB and now RB. Do you know what the odds are of drafting 6 starters or solid contributors out of 6 picks? An NFL team would do really well to get 3 and the Bills have not been doing really well.
  24. That's right. When you use violence to "teach someone a lesson", the lesson you teach is that the weaker individual get's beat up regardless of the facts or right versus wrong. The next logical step is to realize that if you want things to be different next time then you need to change the power dynamic, like by getting a gun.
  25. I don't see how a player can think it's ok to go to the media and B word about a teammate and potential coaching decisions, then state individual achievements as his goal instead of team ones. I know that today's athletes are narcissistic and self centered but really, this seem ok? BTW- a big physical back like Greene and a slashing homerun hitter like Johnson would be an ideal 2-back combination if your goal was to win football games instead of getting Chris Johnson 2000+ yards. Before it became clear that the Bills weren't interested in participating in FA, I actually wondered if they might not want to take a shot at Greene to compliment CJ.
