Wow, is this true? I live 20 minutes from downtown Rock Hill and have done a fair amount of work in that town and I am completely unaware of this. I'm not doubting you, but what do base this on? Which high school do they want to play for?

Also, I like that when the Bills make a move that TBD likes it was Whaley and when it's something they don't like, it was Nix.

I was thinking about this same issue. It seems like there was a much greater emphasis on "measurables", especially speed. Bills got raw players with high upsides almost across the board. That's new. Also, the emphasis on "big" seems to have been replaced with "fast" as several smaller speedsters were taken. I assume this has to be Marrone's influence.

Well they finally took a TE. I guess we're all set now at the position. -
Rd 2, Pick #41: WR Robert Woods - USC

Nice. -
Very sad to hear this. Felser was an icon of my sports youth- the best sports columnist in Buffalo. The man made his mark on the Buffalo sports media.

Al Michaels charged with DUI

That calculator is full of crap, or the laws are a joke. According to this I would have to drink 6 glasses of wine in 1 hour in order for me to be impaired. 5 or less and I'm good to go. I know from experience that I can feel 3 glasses in one hour and am definitely impaired after 4 (an entire bottle of wine) in an hour or less. -
Remember the 3rd Round Last Year. This is why...

Let me come out and say that Russell Wison is not as great as everyone seems to be indicating. He is on a stacked team so they are going to win games but he is an average passer and makes most of his big plays with his feet. That is not something that you can maintain in the NFL. He may develop into a strong passer but he's not one now and, unlike Kaepernick, I don't see a rocket arm on him. Also, if he had been drafted by the Bills in the 3rd round last year he would've never seen the field with Gailey's favorite son at QB and people here would already be calling him a bust. -

I'm not going to ask why you were googling images of men bound and gagged, but it does wet one's curiosity... -
I hope you're right but it was only 4 games out of a 5 year career and I would characterize his play as decent (1 int and 3 passes defended) not shockingly well.

I love how McKelvin went from a guy who couldn't hold a starting job on two separate occasions to someone who we are "set" with as a starter without doing anything on the field to earn it. IMO, the Bills have one starting caliber CB. I'd be looking for a CB in the top 3 rounds, no question.

It really sounds like grasping at straws. Sorry. You say "Marrone's crew is as advertised, which is to say--he's got a reputation for being a no-nonsense, straight shooting guy with high expectations for his players (aka Capt. Culture Changer)." However, so did Jauron and Gailey- especially Jauron whose constantly talked about how he was straight shooter with high expectations in his defense. Williams hit his first camp with an air horn and Gailey pulled the TVs out of the weight room to show how "no-nonsense" they were. You say that "The "tempo" has changed" but the Bills seem asleep this off season with very little free agency action and no real specific talk about what changes they plan on making. And when you say that there's more "energy, enthusiasm and excitement" I have to wonder what you are looking at. Bills fans, including the ones on this board, are as down on the teams prospects as I have ever seen them and what are the players saying that is any different from what they say before every season? Remember Donte Whitner "guaranteeing" that the Bills will make the playoffs? -
I'm sure that the "get bigger" mantra played some part in it but I would find it hard to believe that the Bills didn't have some idea of Levitre's market value. And even if they didn't they did the right thing in retrospect given what he was paid by Tennessee.

Seems an awful lot like the McGahee situation to me. What's different? -
You would think that there is something in between doing nothing and blowing the whole wad. I think you could have a lot of fun for half or what these guys spend and save or invest the other half for later.

I'd guess in between... 5th round. No for the Bills however. How many times can they draft a running back when they are set at the position? Have Henry- draft McGahee. Have McGahee- draft Lynch. Have Lynch (and Jackson)- draft Spiller. Have Spiller (and Jackson)- draft Lattimore? Come on. -

So would Peyton Manning. -
Levitre was probably unretainable for the salary it would've taken, especially after overpaying for Mario Williams last season. I'm also ok with losing Nelson, Rinehart, Barnett and Wilson. Wish they would've kept Fitz, D Jones and K Moore. However, my biggest issue is not that some players have left. That happens to all teams every year. It's that they aren't replacing them with any free agents. They really need to bring in some role player FAs because there's no way that they can fill all the holes that they have with 6 draft picks, most of whom will probably not turn out to be NFL caliber players.
-
I understand your point, however it is a sweeping over generalization of "people on this board". There are Kyle Moore fans such as myself who have praised his pass rushing abilities and are disappointed that he is leaving and people who disliked him because "he can't play the run". I don't think that too many of the people who disliked him are now lamenting his loss. They are ones saying good riddance in the previous posts. In other words, I don't think that what you are implying is true and I doubt that you researched the previous posts of the people who are criticizing the move to find out. The comment reads as a witty statement disparaging posters who criticize player losses, but I doubt that it has a basis in fact.

The new tone at OBD: What they're saying
vincec replied to The Big Cat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Sorry, but we've heard it all before from Greg Williams and his air horn to Chan Gailey taking the TVs out of the weight room. All the new coach's talk tough, but it's just BS. Players and fans respect success and until Marrone has success on the field then it's best to just tune out the propaganda because it's meaningless. -
I love how there is a cynical post like this in every thread. I guess that Bills fans must be crazy for doubting the personnel decisions of this franchise. I mean, how could they doubt them after all they've proven?
-
Fair enough, but I still think that Kyle Moore is going to be a strong player for them.
