  1. Well, the Super Bowl champs are a "ground and pound" team so that says something.
  2. The new rule was ignored in the Ray Rice case.
  3. The key will be keeping Wake and the rest of the Dolphin defense off balance with play calling and an effective running game. If the Bills get behind or are in lots of 3rd and long situations then I doubt Henderson will hold up. The Pats are pretty one dimensional, so it was a little easier for Wake last week too.
  4. The NFLs review and handling of the case is purely about PR. They are not a criminal or civil justice organization. The clauses in players contracts that permit suspensions for these types of things are designed to help the NFL protect their investment in their brand. So, if their response to the situation leads to a public backlash then it is inadequate by definition, because public confidence in the integrity and wholesomeness of the league is exactly what they are trying to maintain. I think that if you view Goodell's handling of this in that light it will all make sense. They are trying to quell public concern about the league not administer justice. I think it's messed up honestly, but that's why their actions appear to be directed by "mob justice" and why they have no problem trying to deceive the public.
  5. He's doing it on purpose. Who knows why. He doesn't look under the influence to me (not more than normal anyway). I know some people say that "he's just having fun", but to me he doesn't look like he's taking his role as a professional and the leader of a Super Bowl contender seriously. It's just not the example that his teammates athletes need, IMO.
  6. It's a ridiculous story: After reviewing all the evidence, including the elevator tapes apparently, Goodell decides that a 2 game suspension is adequate. Then he realizes he screwed up from a PR perspective after the wave of public outcry. So, he instates a new league policy on domestic violence to try and patch things up. It states that for a first offense you get a 6 game suspension and a lifetime ban for a second one. Then the Ray Rice elevator tapes are suddenly "discovered". Goodell claims that this new evidence changes everything and issues Rice an indefinite ban. This is despite the fact that his own new policy states that the penalty for a first offense is a 6 game suspension AND the fact that he apparently had the tapes all along so there is no new evidence in the case at all. Does this sound like a fair and consistent review process that players and fans can have confidence in?
  7. The grazing buffalo is back.
  8. A long time ago from my perspective.
  9. Did a nice job today.
  10. That's what I thought too. But they did review it and no TD.
  11. The right side wasn't great. Pears was so-so and Henderson got beat a lot today. On the other hand, I thought Glenn looked good after a shaky pre-season.
  12. I can't believe how close this all is to falling apart even before the first game is played. The Bills had better pull off the upset in Chicago or this is going to spiral out of control quickly.
  13. 1) Run off tackle 2) CJ Spiller 3) 1 yard gain
  14. Well, this season is off to a good start. I must say that my confidence in Marrone goes down daily.
  15. I really don't see how this move can be criticized from a football standpoint. As a backup, he's one of the best in the league. He's not a developmental prospect but the team already has that in Manuel. They paid him slightly above the market rate for his services IMO, which is probably required to come to Buffalo. You've got to give credit where it's due and this was a good move. Now, it may not make the slightest bit of difference with respect to the team's record depending on what happens with Manuel, but that's another discussion...
  16. Nice move by Cincinnati. With 10 spots on the practice squad what's the downside really?
  17. This is awesome.
  18. A bizarre choice to be wired for sound.
  19. I'd like to see Gurley on there. I think the kid showed something.
  20. He never struck me as the most eloquent guy, but good luck to him.
  21. Maybe it just took Hackett a little longer to work his magic.
  22. My concern as well. Legursky would be the only option. Is he better than Urbik? I don't think so. Seems like it's about money to me. The only explanation that I can think of.
  23. At the peak of his career he was Fitz like, and he's not at the peak of his career anymore. Sorry to be negative about this. The Bills are trying, but there are no good options at this point.
  24. Actually, I think that Charles is Dareus's backup at the 1 technique while Bryant and Cohen play Williams's 3 technique. So I think it was Bryant vs Cohen. Honestly, to me Charles has shown the least of the three anyway, IMO.
  25. He'll land on his feet with another team.
