  1. I agree. And I do believe that there is no one style that is best. As Marv once said, you can have Landry or Dungy; or Lombardi or Cowher. They all can win. We'll see.
  2. I'm not sure if there's anything negative that you say to the press that's "tame" enough to not be taken badly by your team mates. Sammy's only doing it to try and make himself look better at Tyrod's expense so I don't think they're going to be too sympathetic.
  3. So, he goes to the press to make his case and then complains that they mischaracterized him? Come on. If he cared what his team thought in the first place he wouldn't be talking to the press about his team mates faults.
  4. I believe that a key component of what a coach needs to do is keep everyone obsessively focused on a single goal- to win the Super Bowl. I wonder if Rex's style of talking trash and letting his players do and say whatever contributes to this or works against it. It seems to create a lot of unnecessary distractions. Maybe it can relieve some tension but I think his approach takes it too far.
  5. Absolutely. He even discussed this with his agent before he spoke to the media about it.
  6. No. Your turn. Is his bashing his team mates in the media designed to help the team or is it for a more selfish reason?
  7. I'm surprised how many people think it's ok to go to the media and throw your QB and coaching staff under the bus to make yourself look better. His numbers don't stack up well against other receivers drafted in his class and he is blaming the QB for not targeting him (because he's "young"- lol, like Sammy's a proven vet or something) and the coaching staff for apparently not doing a better job game planning. It's not his fault that he looks bad, it's his team mates and coaches. That's awesome.
  8. I don't remember Thigpen putting the ball on the ground much while he was here. What are their respective numbers? The new guy has one lost fumble in 3 touches. Fumble percentage: 33%.
  9. Me too. Return game issues were definitely not Thigpen, IMO. Blocking stinks plus the penalties. At least Thigpen didn't fumble...
  10. He probably doesn't know the playbook well enough to play in all situations. Also, when he's in there the other team pretty muck knows he's getting the ball on a run because he's unlikely to know the pass blocking schemes, which doesn't help.
  11. Didn't he get the Cardinals to the Supe Bowl? That's one more Super Bowl that Rex made it to.
  12. Adam Schefter says that Doug Marrone is the clear favorite to get the job.
  13. So when a team has a "home" game in London or Mexico City or where ever, the season ticket holder don't pay for that, right? And the psl owners get a prorated share of their seat costs back as a credit?
  14. My thoughts exactly.
  15. It's not the same players. They rebuilt their entire secondary, which was the weak point of their defense, for one thing. Then there's Brandon Marshall. Plus Fitz is a clear upgrade over Geno. Take a look at their roster.
  16. Rex was joking about it in the locker room after the Miami game, so it seems like he thought it was a one game anomaly and not a real issue that needed to be dealt with season long. Maybe this game will change his mind.
  17. America's team.
  18. I hope you're right, but t's a long way from having high draft picks to being a consistent winner. I think many have been too quick to connect those dots.
  19. Be careful with too much the praise for the Pegulas skills running their teams. Their W-L record during their ownership of the Sabres is the worst in the NHL, so their "deep pockets" and hiring savvy hasn't exactly helped them out.
  20. I think that's on the OL. They're really a middling group so I think the RBs are actually doing well to be where they are.
  21. What if you don't remember what teams you picked for the first 3 weeks? How can you find out?
  22. I would say they were about the same, but I agree that Miller needs to play to develop.
  23. NE is well coached and full of veterans so they make excellent in game adjustments.
  24. Taylor or Harvin would be my picks.
