  1. You make it seem like this happens all the time in Buffalo. How many QB's have the bills actually drafted in the first 2 rounds in the last 10 years? 15 years? 2003: JP Losman 2013: EJ Manuel Heck, you have to go back to Tod freaking Collins in the 1995 NFL Draft to find another QB we took in the first 2 rounds. And NONE of those 3 QB's were top 10 picks. When was the last time we drafted a QB in the top 10? Lord knows we've had plenty of picks in the top 10 over the last 20 years (probably the leader). The Bills consistently REFUSE to address the QB position in its entirety, maybe THAT is our problem.
  2. The guy already comes from a ton of money and already has had a ton of attention - if you ask me, he's better prepared than most 20-21 yr olds to handle those specific factors. In fact, you could easily make the argument that he'll get LESS attention if he ends up somewhere in Buffalo or Jax, compared to the circus that was Texas A&M/college football.
  3. Actions? You mean winning the Heisman? Or are you referring to a 19-20yr old acting like a 19-20 yr old?
  4. This is why drugs become illegal. Some people just can't handle it.
  5. Rest in peace.
  6. I just read it on my phone like an hour ago, that's what the headline said.
  7. as per Tweet from Tim Graham, Hairston is STILL not healthy. Unreal. Sign me up for OL!
  8. It's hard to disagree with Rotoworld. OT IS a need; FS IS a need; and the fact that we really know nothing of EJ after one season, QB is still a need. Some may have a coronary if we take a QB in the 1st round. I'd welcome it. Are you trying to count the number of knee injuries EJ had in one season with those Dings?
  9. Another way of looking at it: there have been what? 48 super bowls? 48 different ways to win it. Theres no super formula to win one. Next year we'll demonstrate everyone how to win it a 49th different way.
  10. You give me one elite pass rusher and one elite corner and you have the infredients needed for a good defense. Theyre the two ingredients on D that have the capability to sinlgle-handedly affect the opposing offense - the CB locking down the O's #1 threat and the pass rusher disrupting the QB which by correlation, affects the other WR/passing game. I dont even mention run d bc no single player on D can stop the run by himself. Run D is a scheme/group effort. So yeah, IMO - corner and pass rusher (whether de or LB i dont care)
  11. If a CB performs at a top level in your system, pay him. Other than QB's, all positions are prone to bounce around the league.. Thats what happens when u have a cap.
  12. If he pllays RT well for 3 years without playing LT hes not going to get paid elite money to play LT.
  13. There are 2 cornerstones of a D that deserve top money: a great pass rusher and a great CB. You fill in what u can around that. That being said, we still shouldve franchised byrd.
  14. Did i miss his "breakout"?
  15. Wilfork is a D-BAG. The end.
  16. Who knows. The Panthers plan to meet with him. The panthers pick 28th this year. The Ravens pick 17th. Maybe the Ravens want to look at him in case he drops to 10 or early teens and they trade up to get him. Panthers have no chance of landing Ebron, IMO.
  17. I feel that a young QB's best friend is to stand in the pocket comfortably with all the time in the world to throw the ball. That's why I hope that if we do target Ebron we can get him while trading down so we can also address OL in round 2, in addition to other positions we need.
  18. I'd much rather keep A. Williams at SS. I've read many comments about how simple it seemingly is to move a player from SS to FS and have him succeed. IMO, FS position is much more instinctual than physical. And like we know, instincts can't be taught - you either have them or you don't. Byrd had them. He was able to diagnose passing plays very well and was usually in the right place at the right time. SS is more of a masher-type position which relies more on physical strength and tackling skills than coverage skills. Can A. Williams play FS? Possibly. But it could also be a disaster. I'm excited to see Duke play (if he does end up starting). I never saw him play in college, so unfortunately i can't formulate my own opinion. I have read very positive reviews on his play from his college days.
  19. for me, if we could possibly trade down 3-4 spots and take Ebron at 12 or 13 and then pick up an extra 2nd rd. pick, that would be stellar! If one of top 3 OT is there at 9, maybe we could trade down to 12 with the Giants - they could use some OL help for Elijah. Just thinking out loud. Question is, would the Lions take Ebron at 10? Or the Titans at 11?
  20. I would much rather keep A. Williams at SS and have Duke battle it out with a FS we draft in first 3 rounds. There is no easy way to replace Byrd as many here would like to believe but what's done is done. should we try and bring Leonhard back as a "veteran" safety blanket? I think he said '14 was giong to be his last season.
  21. Ah, gotcha. I digress then. My bad
