  1. He came off IR, played some ST snaps vs. Seattle, and went right back on IR. The Bills waived him on January 19th. He signed with the Jets as a FA a couple weeks ago.
  2. Well Done, SnapFlow. Well Done. new punter Matt Haack and Isaiah McKenzie have both been working out with Blake Ferguson.
  3. Wouldn't you say Kumerow appears to have moved ahead of Duke on the depth chart?
  4. This on Twitter allegedly from the filing: I believe from stuff elsewhere, the majority of the "Advances from related entities and family" was to pay off a share of the NFL's $650M relocation fee
  5. First of all, she's not a "young lady", neither is she properly described as "Chargers owners Sister". She owns as much of the team as her other 3 siblings, and is co-trustee with Dean of the family trust, and we have no reason to consider her a "spoiled brat" Second, I doubt eliminating the various employees or the $30 pint of ice cream are going to go very far to pay the $650M relocation fee the Chargers owe to the NFL, nor to settle the rest of the $353M debt the "Family Trust" is in. Quite the stretch to assume that her personal expenses are either solely or significantly responsible for these. I would guess that the 36% share of the the $650M NFL relo fee is a majority of the debt [Edit: yes, says $164M is associated with the Chargers and another $75M is Estate Tax]. If the trust wasn't carefully set up by Spanos, Sr, it could have incurred bequest and charitable liabilities that are still ongoing while it's in debt. It sounds like Dean Spanos doesn't really have a good financial plan for executing his responsiblity as a co-trustee of the family trust, and his sister has tried mediation and other avenues to work out a realistic plan to no avail.
  6. Potential impact players at DE/Edge: Bud Dupree, 28 (TEN) - signed for 5 years/$82.5M, 2021 cap $5.1M [2020: 8 sacks, 8 TFL, 15 QB hits] Trey Hendrickson (CIN) - signed for 4 yr/$60M, 2021 cap $12.5M [2020: 13.5 sacks, 14 TFL, 28 QB hits] Matt Judon, 29 (NE) - signed for 4 yr/$54.5, 2021 cap $6.4 [2020: 6 sacks, 9 TFL, 21 QB hits] Carl Lawson, 26 (NYJ) - signed for 3 yr/$15M, 2021 cap $14.3M [2020: 5.5 sacks, 4 TFL, 32 QB hits] JJ Watt, 32 (AZ) - signed for 2 yrs, $28M, 2021 cap $4.9M. [2020: 5 sacks,14 TFL,17 QB hits] Yannick Ngakoue, 26 (LV) - signed for 2 yrs, $26M, 2021 cap $13M [2020: 8 sacks, 7 TFL, 11 QB hits] Shaq Barrett (who I would have loved), Romeo Okwara, and Carlos Dunlap chose to re-up with their current teams. Production on Bills: Jerry Hughes 4.5 sacks, 4 TFL, 11 QB hits Mario Addison 5 sacks, 7 TFL, 8 QB hits AJ Epenesa 1 sack, 3 TFL, 4 QB hits The way I look at it, QB hits are "skirting the line" - if the ball is gone and the ref decides you took too many steps, then they're a penalty. Clearly there are a couple of FA who could have helped us - Trey Hendrickson led the list for me, followed by Yannick Ngakoue. But for a lot of them, when you really look into it, there may be some aspect of "bright shiny!" And of course the Bills aren't just looking at sack or TFL production - they're looking at how does this guy play every snap, how does he execute what we believe to be his assignment?
  7. Thought this was interesting in view of the topic https://www.vice.com/en/article/pkdj79/peoples-expensive-nfts-keep-vanishing-this-is-why?utm_source=pocket-newtab
  8. NFL.com gives number of completed 40+ yd passes, but it's not clear whether those are air yards or total yards https://www.nfl.com/stats/player-stats/category/passing/2020/REG/all/passing40plusyardseach/DESC Completion % is also not given.
  9. This reminds me of another joke: John went to visit his 90 year old grandfather in a very secluded, rural area After spending a great evening, the next morning John’s grandfather prepared breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast. However, John noticed a film like substance on his plate, and questioned his grandfather asking, ‘Are these plates clean?’ His grandfather replied, ‘They’re as clean as cold water can get ’em. Just you go ahead and finish your meal, Sonny!’ For lunch the old man made hamburgers. Again, John was concerned about the plates, as his appeared to have tiny specks around the edge that looked like dried egg and asked, ‘Are you sure these plates are clean?’ Without looking up the old man said, ‘I told you before, Sonny, those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don’t you fret, I don’t want to hear another word about it!’ Later that afternoon, John was on his way to a nearby town and as he was leaving, his grandfather’s dog started to growl, and wouldn’t let him pass. John yelled and said, ‘Grandfather, your dog won’t let me get to my car’. The old man shouted: ‘Coldwater, go lay down now, yah hear me!’
  10. Well, Beane and McDermott probably called him with regard to his recent re-signing. They strike me as the kind of guys who would give out their number and say "if you need to talk to me, here's my number, Call" Especially with last year's "virtual off-season" making an "open door policy" ill advised. Who got the "I'm folding dishes"? Is that what I heard as "I gotta phone the dishes"?
  11. Sounds as though he's lived his professional football life on IR: He made his professional regular season debut and his first career start in the Oakland Raiders' season-opener at the Tennessee Titans and recorded two solo tackles during their 26–16 victory. On October 8, 2017, Lee recorded a season-high six combined tackles in a 30–17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He unfortunately sustained a ankle injury during the game and was carted off the field to be examined in the locker room.[10] He missed the next three games and lost his starting role to newly acquired veteran NaVorro Bowman who the Raiders signed on October 16, 2017.[11] He finished his rookie season with 25 combined tackles (18 solo) in 13 games and six starts.[12] Head coach Jack Del Rio was fired after the Raiders finished 6-10. On September 24, 2019, Lee was placed on injured reserve.[13] He was designated for return from injured reserve on November 11, 2019, and began practicing with the team again.[14] He was activated on December 2, 2019.[15] He was placed back on injured reserve on December 21, 2019.[16] Lee was placed on the active/physically unable to perform list at the start of training camp on July 28, 2020.[17] He was waived with a failed physical designation on August 3, 2020.[18] Wonder what the story is there?
  12. "Let me call you back I'm Christmas shopping right now" I think that was Josh saying "That wasn't my mad face, brudda. If I were mad, Trust Me, you'd know it". Jordan Palmer said "he's a sweetheart, but I wouldn't want to mess with him" I suspect that's why they cut away from Micah Hyde so quickly.... Edit: I'm wrong about Hyde, he's giving McKenzie that "yeah, RIGHT" look when McKenzie tells him "I gotta phone the dishes" Does he tell Beane "I'm gonna go wet the water" ?? 😅 McKenzie: "Can I call you back? I'm gonna have a baby" Diggs: "Go to he**" (that's so Diggs, he's just not having it) I love McDermott: "You're buying a Christmas tree? Yeah, sure, buddy, call me back." Either he knows then he's being pranked, or as an experienced coach, he's already heard the most improbable stuff and until proven a problem, he's just gonna roll with it. It's cool that his expectation is to be so available that the first thing he does is apologize for being unavailable. McKenzie: "I'm pregnant". Chad Hall silent doubletake 🤣 Tre' dancing 😇
  13. Perhaps, but Brown, Diggs and Beasley had the same injuries against the Ravens and Colts and they managed. So I think it was the "sticky" coverage.
  14. I guess we'll have to wait to see what the picture is after the rest of FA and the draft. What do you know about Breida's ability to release off the line and run routes? Or track balls?
  15. https://theathletic.com/2483908/2021/03/30/watching-all-of-emmanuel-sanders-2020-snaps-to-understand-his-fit-with-the-bills/?source=emp_shared_article (Athletic, paywall, $1 trial available) All this sounds wonderful, but then Buscaglia flags a game where Sanders was neutralized in the same way our receivers were in the AFCCG: Joe concludes:
  16. My personal opinion is that teams always consider need (and quality at that position available in the later rounds) in their draft choices. I think it's inarguable that teams put QBs and sometimes other players (DE, WR, potential LTs) in a different category For example, if it seems pretty clear that the BPA is a LT....but that team has a high-quality LT under a long term contract - that team is NOT gonna draft that guy in the first couple rounds. Ditto QB. Later rounds, as a guy they could develop, the math changes.
  17. Link to previous thread (now locked) to loop in some of that discussion
  18. Locked because title not edited as asked thus duplicate thread not merged
  19. He probably is. Probably a "Veteran Salary Benefit" contract - the deal is the Bills pay him vet minimum for a 6 year guy ($0.990M) plus up to $137k in signing, workout, or roster bonuses, and he only counts $0.85M against the cap. The "tell" for one of those is when you look at Overthecap or Spotrac and the cap hit is less than the contract. Jordan Devey was signed on one of those. He's signed for $10k workout bonus and $0.990M, but he counts $0.860M against the cap (bonus plus $0.850M) Davis Webb would be another example - currently signed for $0.990M and shown as $0.85M against the cap Edit: looking over the roster, Matt Breida and Jacob Hollister would appear to be other examples.
