Greg Olsen visiting Bills, Redskins, Seahawks
thebandit27 replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That would be one of the most Cleveland moves ever. Accountant-turned-GM trades into the first round to draft an athletic TE New GM and HC proceed to alienate said TE Said GM and HC are fired; accountant-turned-GM reassumes power Accountant-turned-GM hires creative, offensive-minded HC New HC proceeds to trade young, athletic TE (the one that the organization traded into the first round to draft) away for a day 3 pick -
I just don’t see why a new, offensive-minded HC would want to give up on a young, athletic TE that’s on a cheap contract for a day 3 pick. That doesn’t make sense.

Why would Cleveland make that trade? -
Myles Garrett Still Claiming Racial Slur

Rudolph was pretty adamant about not saying it. I don’t know if I’d say angry, but he’s clearly bothered by it: https://www.google.com/amp/s/syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2864123-mason-rudolph-denies-myles-garretts-racial-slur-allegation-totally-untrue.amp.html -
Myles Garrett Still Claiming Racial Slur

What if Rudolph was asked to let it go so as not to dissuade players from coming forward when someone does utter a slur in the future? Not saying that’s the case, but one could certainly understand if it were. -

Yes, it will. How will Olsen’s long-term health be affected by a return to the field? That’s what I’m assuming he’s mulling. -

I think he’s going to the booth. If the money is even close it’s a no-brainer. -

Yep. In fact it didn’t come out until a week later: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfl-finds-no-evidence-to-support-myles-garretts-appeals-claim-that-mason-rudolph-used-racial-slur/amp/ and apparently Rudolph’s teammates were pissed about the accusation: https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2019/11/21/mason-rudolph-racial-slur-allegations-myles-garrett-appeal-browns-steelers-fight/stories/201911210165 -

Perhaps, but maybe I’m old fashioned or something—to me it reeks of justifying an unjustifiable act. Maybe Rudolph said that; maybe he didn’t. I’d like to believe someone would’ve corroborated it, though nobody had denied it either. For me, contrition is the way to gain forgiveness. A simple “I lost my mind out there and have no excuse. I hope in time everyone will forgive me” would’ve been sufficient. -
No.

Yeah probably.

We should “ Gillislee” a guy like Breida or Ekeler.
-
That he does...but if he’s only a so-so run stopper using that size, then I’m not as concerned. If we want a big body to plug in there, I’m just as content signing a Michael Pierce or DJ Reader.

You can have your wish this year; Isaiah Hodgins is the new Geronimo Allison.

Lions possibly looking to move Stafford
thebandit27 replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Furthermore, I fail to see why a HC and GM that are likely on their final chance to field a competent team would want to move their best offensive player. -

Not sure. Staff makes unbelievably stupid plays at critical times, but his playmaking ability definitely exceeds Brady’s at this stage. Now, would Staff be able to be as productive with NE’a group of targets and not KG, MLJ, and Hockenson? No idea.
