Say what you will, but Owens was nothing but graceful and classy here despite being what was probably the worst situation of his career. It would have been easy for him to embarrass the organization and city (and probably wouldnt have gotten an overly negative reaction nationally), and he never went there.

I think we are in decent shape in wny. Things were shut down on the 22nd. We are + 2 weeks out and things are fairly under control as of now. Not sure if we are going to experience a raging fire of cases such as parts of italy, new Orleans, nyc, etc... Still got a long way to go, but I think the fact that we share a state with nyc and Cuomo shut us down early in the progression is huge. Plus not a huge centralized city proper population

Its a great team, but it just feels like college football and is unique to that. I dont want/need it for the NFL. Im in the minority (extreme minority) who actually liked Booger. He was cringe-worthy, but it was kind of in the entertaining and unintended way. He was truly excited to be there and be a part of it which was fun. Then he would say something completely head scratching and it would be funny (such as pleading with "America" not to allow defensive linemen to cover tight ends). Would love Gus Johnson to do the MNF games

thats the $22 trillion dollar balancing act. It is such a dubious double-edged sword. I am hoping that behind the odd bluster of Trump, behind the scenes smart people are coming up with a master plan to contain this thing and introduce people back into the workforce. By Trump's previous stated timeline, it sounded as if we are looking at April deaths and peaking, May getting a handle on the thing with tracking and containment, and June 1st we would begin to release people back into the wild, and I would think it would be based on kinds of work, proximity to others, and regional. I'm not a Trump guy, but definitely rooting for the administration. Shoving it on 50 individual governors will not work. Need a centrally-based plan from the Federal government. We will see. Italy, Spain, and to an extent, France are a bit of a canary in the coal mine for us. Let's see how they try to open up their countries and what works and what doesnt. I do wonder how the heck a city like NYC could possibly open back up. So populated, people living on top of one another. A city built on public transit.

The problem is, everyone cant go back to normal because then we are either right back here again.... or we just try to ignore it and the worst case scenario is realized. Without a vaccine, or some sort of hammer treatment for the symptoms, we are pretty screwed. They need to be finalizing a plan for testing, tracking, and containment

I know 2 people who have it. Both were mild are basically recovered, although 1 keeps seeing symptoms persist on some level but by all intents and purposes is recovered. They were not tested, but basic common sense says that they have it. My friend's neighbor passed away which was the closest this has 'hit home', but classifying that as 'someone I know" is a reach.

Yeah, Every evening around 6PM I religiously check out the Italy numbers. As you know, they have leveled off and have even retracted with new cases. From what I was told, we (I guess specifically meaning NYC and probably Washington State) are about 2 weeks behind Italy. I realize that everything cannot fit in a neat box like that, but if NYC can start to see receding new cases around the middle parts of April, that would be a great thing, and also provide some hope and procedural data to other cities and regions that get hit later. Then, later, in a perfect world, maybe NYC can share medical equipment and personnel. I think I saw that NY is slowing down as far as new case % growth by day.... but those numbers should be taken with a grain of salt because they are so guided by testing.

It does seem like the distancing is working for the most part, although we are going to see some bad times pop up in other US locales. The hardest hit areas of Europe seem to be leveling off. Then it is a matter of 'whats next' once April is over, and hopefully a level of control in the hospitals across the US. Im hoping there are a lot of smart people coming up with a master plan behind the scenes.

About 17 years and 10 months (I hope)

Italy's new cases seem to be on a downturn. Next step, hopefully more cured in a day than new cases. After that, watch to see if they can get a handle on the situation. Social distancing appears to be working in the usa. Even though it looks bleak, nyc case growth has slowed. Other places like san Francisco look encouraging.

I cancelled my season tickets today. It hurt my soul, but absolutely the correct thing to do. Been a season ticket holder in some way, shape or form since 2001. A fan since 1985. After all this, an 8% increase on my ticket price, just because I have stuck with it to maintain a decent seat location was the last straw of many.

If I had to wager, I would bet we will see the NFL played sans crowd. I don't see any likely scenario that this virus gets licked before September to the point that we can gather in reckless crowds of 70,000 people. I do think by then they will have started to re-open various segments of business and trade.

The biggest hope right now IMO is that some brilliant mind(s) come up with an effective way(s) to treat the symptoms of Covid-19 (in the next 30-60 days). Waiting for curves to cycle down (and up again) waiting on a vaccine that is 18 months away (optimistically) isnt a realistic model for our civilization to continue. I get the way to test, track, and quarantine. But again, Im not sure that is feasible. The toothpaste is way out of the tube here. This thing is also global and unsure if we can just seal up the borders until the vaccine is locked-in (and that is assuming we eradicate this thing 100% in our population)

I love it. Fascinating

About 3-4 days ago, they started their most restrictive distancing rules, cant go like 90 feet away from your home or something, and they said it would be until March 25th. Expert-level social distancing I think that's the key. Restrict everything for a week or 2. Test the heck out of everything, contain it, then slowly allow pieces of the economy and society back into circulation. Massive testing at borders for the foreseeable future.
