  1. It does seem like the distancing is working for the most part, although we are going to see some bad times pop up in other US locales. The hardest hit areas of Europe seem to be leveling off. Then it is a matter of 'whats next' once April is over, and hopefully a level of control in the hospitals across the US. Im hoping there are a lot of smart people coming up with a master plan behind the scenes.
  2. it stinks. Listening to WGR has been a nice tether to the outside world and a bit of normalcy.
  3. About 17 years and 10 months (I hope)
  4. Italy's new cases seem to be on a downturn. Next step, hopefully more cured in a day than new cases. After that, watch to see if they can get a handle on the situation. Social distancing appears to be working in the usa. Even though it looks bleak, nyc case growth has slowed. Other places like san Francisco look encouraging.
  5. I cancelled my season tickets today. It hurt my soul, but absolutely the correct thing to do. Been a season ticket holder in some way, shape or form since 2001. A fan since 1985. After all this, an 8% increase on my ticket price, just because I have stuck with it to maintain a decent seat location was the last straw of many.
  6. If I had to wager, I would bet we will see the NFL played sans crowd. I don't see any likely scenario that this virus gets licked before September to the point that we can gather in reckless crowds of 70,000 people. I do think by then they will have started to re-open various segments of business and trade.
  7. My kids have been digging The Pacifier this week too
  8. So far this month? Honey I shrunk the kids Gremlins Rookie of the year
  9. The biggest hope right now IMO is that some brilliant mind(s) come up with an effective way(s) to treat the symptoms of Covid-19 (in the next 30-60 days). Waiting for curves to cycle down (and up again) waiting on a vaccine that is 18 months away (optimistically) isnt a realistic model for our civilization to continue. I get the way to test, track, and quarantine. But again, Im not sure that is feasible. The toothpaste is way out of the tube here. This thing is also global and unsure if we can just seal up the borders until the vaccine is locked-in (and that is assuming we eradicate this thing 100% in our population)
  10. I love it. Fascinating
  11. About 3-4 days ago, they started their most restrictive distancing rules, cant go like 90 feet away from your home or something, and they said it would be until March 25th. Expert-level social distancing I think that's the key. Restrict everything for a week or 2. Test the heck out of everything, contain it, then slowly allow pieces of the economy and society back into circulation. Massive testing at borders for the foreseeable future.
  12. possible glimmer of hope in Italy? https://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/public-global-health/489062-new-coronavirus-cases-drop-in-italy-for-second-day
  13. I have to say, my anxiety level on all this peaked about 3 days ago and has receded to pre-3/11 levels (that Wednesday was when I started to freak out, well before my friends and family). Part of it (maybe a large part) is I know 3-5 people who currently have it. Only 1 of them counts toward the 30,000 or whoever has it in the US (and Erie County). They are for the most part very fine and just recuperating at home. A little bit of familiarity makes it less scary and is a reminder that this is not a doomsday virus. I feel like the hospitalization and mortality rate are likely a lot lesser than what we have been conditioned to accept. Other than celebrities and politicians, the people who are getting tested are those with severe symptoms for the most part. Now I understand everything that goes into a desperate need to flatten the curve and how we need to curb the load on medical facilities. Also the fact that it is a serious ailment in many patients. We are going to be under lockdown and things will get weird (and probably a bit crazy/frightening over the next 2 weeks). But it will pass. Lots of minds are working towards treatments, testing etc. The economy will be there for us on the back side of it.
  14. Imo belichick is the danger. Now he is going to go all in on winning without brady.
  15. Wow. Didnt think it would happen
  16. Wow, they have people they refer to as the "pro o'Brien posse"
  17. One thing to remember.... the Bills do not have many available roster spots for all their low-round picks. They could afford this
  18. I'm sure it's been answered... but is the cap penalty for the Pat's re-signing brady at midnight or noon tomorrow?
  19. Sahlens hot dogs are overrated.
  20. Im sure Wrestlemania is completely in jeopardy.... but until its off, their philosophy is 'full steam ahead'. We will see the path of this thing in the next 2 weeks. Its either going to be dissipating, we got ahead of it, and we are going to start to laugh at ourselves (I hope). Or we are going to have a few pockets similar to Italy and things will be hitting the fan, and in that case, Wrestlemania is an easy cancel. The final decision just doesnt need to be made quite yet
