  1. you and the NFL are also assuming the fans got the tickets at the box office and not from a scalper. I think that when the NFL offered ANY future Superbowl plus trip expenses, I would have been pacified. I think it is obvious the NFL wants to make it right.
  2. why charging Buffalo. Wish they would go with the standing buffalo
  3. I really enjoyed that article. Pretty awesome. Hopefully it keeps Mr Rich's interest and the Terriers benefit from their relationship. Im not sold on Rich buying any portion of the Bills. He had the opportunity to buy the Sabres at a bargain price, but never entered the equation. I played baseball with one of his sons (and met an adopted/pseudo son). They are great and very down to Earth and you would never guess they were from the kind of $ they are from. As far as MLB... it was between Buffalo, Denver, Miami, and New Orleans (I think). Rich pulled out at the last second for the economic reasons. The way baseball has gone, it was a wise move. I do recall Florida was a shoe-in and Buffalo had a pretty legitimate shot.
  4. at first I was annoyed a little, I have to admit. I just read it as a cheap way for the NFL marketing to weave itself into the fabric of the USA. With increasing regularity, the NFL manages to annoy me and I look at a lot of things skeptically now. Thinking about it though. It is a great thing. You have 100 million viewers, mostly Americans, why not have the reading while we are all together in front of our televisions?
  5. I dont think the "reward" is all that great. The fans very most likely paid more than face value (far more) for any seats at the game. Also, if its Buffalo in the super bowl and I splurge, take valued time off of work, get hyped for the game, acquire tickets, etc and I they wont let me in due to an error in Jerry Jones' ego and greed.... I would be irate. I dont want to be a "guest of the NFL" for next year's game, say the Ravens and Falcons. Thats even if there is a game. Maybe its not until 2013. Stepping onto the field is really not appealing to me either.
  6. I think it is absolutely reprehensible that the scumbag sold seats that werent usable, only to turn people away the day of the game.... and also charging $200 for people to watch the game on a TV outside. makes me really re-think my support for this league.
  7. maybe he does.... It would just be kind of a tragedy for him to receive all the criticism and hatred while he is alive.... then passes..... and when all the layers are peeled away we find out that he has basically gifted us the team in place for the foreseeable future. I would start to collect the signatures for the bronze statue, but he would never know.
  8. I just kind of wish that if Mr Wilson has something set up which is designed to keep the Bills here, he would come clean about it.... for no other reason than to collect our gratitude
  9. Im in shock he said what he did. He was pressed about the Bills maybe 3 or 4 times and each time he was very careful to leave the door open.... more open than shut for sure.
  10. maybe if this guy makes all the right moves and the Sabres become a Red Wings type organization... success on the ice as well as the ability to make profit..... maybe he considers doing the same thing with the Bills.
  11. I renewed. I make it from Philadelphia to 3+ games a season.
  12. we all renewed (a group of about 10 of us). Cant beat Rockpile prices in major sports today.
  13. She is actually young, maybe mid-thirtees. Very cute too.
  14. I hate to set the bar low, but I am still expecting next season to be part of the 'rebuild'. I would say if the team continues to flounder in 2012, we should get antsy. I hate to set the bar low, but I am still expecting next season to be part of the 'rebuild'. I would say if the team continues to flounder in 2012, we should get antsy. we'll see how the offseason develops though.
  15. this is awesome IMO. I really liked what he did at Pitt for the most part. He is the kind of blood we need coaching this team. Nice job, Bills
  16. reading that thread has restored some of my faith in Jets fans.
  17. the team appeared to be very uninspiring going into this season. I dont fault them at all for not putting the Bills on primetime. I do wish to see less of Philly though. Even their fans are sick of the night games. I would bet the Bills get a home Sunday night game next season, maybe away. Probably not a monday nighter at this point unless they make some waves (like trade up for Luck or something). There is also the talk of the Bills having a 50/50 shot at playing the Cowboys on Thanksgiving.
  18. this has to be oversite by the author. Although, I do think our main threat is Toronto and not L.A. I still dont understand why expansion seems so taboo with the NFL. Especially if and when the schedule increases to 18 games, the perfect universe of the divisions and schedule will be thrown off anyway. BTW Im not a Buffalo resident and I have the Sunday Ticket, buy Bills "stuff", and have season tickets in which I attend 2-5 games a season (live in Philly). The Bills move and all my interest in the NFL is literally out the window.
  19. that is true. If you are a public figure like this, you have gotta be smarter than that. I personally wouldnt put stuff like that on the internet at risk of being shamed at my job, which doesnt involve nearly as much media or public attention. Thats the issue. This guy is either stupid or arrogant (or both. Either case, its going to catch up to him. The organization has already been shamed a number of times this season. A number of small incidents, but they add up and eventually, maybe if the Jets finish 8-8 or worse next season, The Jets are going to be sick of explaining themselves. Also, its obvious players like him because he is a clown just like a lot of them. At some point he is going to have to be an authority and discipline someone and they are going to look at this "child" and tell him to EAD. As much as players like this, Im sure it can turn the other way as well.
  20. yeah, that ESPN one is ridiculous. They dropped one spot after beating Cleveland, then beat Miami and gained that one spot back. Ranked 27th, while the poo Browns are at like 22.
  21. I love RWS and never want to the Bills move out of there. Especially not a stadium with a roof. it really stinks we have recently lost a couple guys in our corner: Tim Russert and Jack Kemp. However, the emergence of Pegula on the scene is a huge bonus
  22. The bowl of buffalo wings need to have sexylegs.
  23. very stupid looking mascot and the person under the mascot is a stiff and isnt very good. (yes, I have experience mascotting and working in sports with other mascots)
  24. yeah, and I have said it before, but the Jet fans I work with have been pooping their pants for weeks knowing they have to play the Bills last game
  25. it seems whenever we are feeling good about the Bills, the Patriots are waiting there to knock them back down a few pegs. Not this time. These guys are different, and a word of advice for Mr Brady: Dont dare cross the Moats.
