The fact that Marcell is even carrying on about the situation is in and of itself indicative of the problem with him. The Bills made him a very rich man (not that some other team would not have). I am not in disagreement at all with your point. I was simply trying to find a plausible explanation for the situation that involved something other than poor technique. At the end of the day, the DB’s failure to wrap up for whatever reason was a colossal mistake.

Yeah it’s an unbelievable play. The only possible explanation other than sloppy technique is that maybe for some reason the DB thought he was going to be hit by someone else and was trying not to get hurt or draw a penalty. Was it a possible “defenseless hit on a receiver?” This seems like a stretch but it’s a possible explanation.
