  1. Thanks Gug! Very true, plus with Mead's new lawn service, he will be rolling in the cash. I stand corrected......Mead is buying!
  2. I think I need to stop by and survey the situation. I don't mend hoses, but love to help with the trim....ing. I have one hell of a Stihl gas powered trimmer! Makes light work of any job!
  3. Thanks everybody for the birthday wishes!!! Looking forward to the summer 518 bash and will not miss it (especially if Gug is buying)!!!!
  4. You are a hell of a nice neighbor for doing this, but it is high time that they realize that with a home comes these types of chores and responsibilities. Sounds like they are better suited for condo or apartment living.... Kudos for helping your elderly neighbors!!!
  5. The annual fee is only $45 so it is not a heavy lift for Chase to waive it. I use the card quite a bit and even though I pay it monthly, the interchange they make off of my purchases offsets the fee. I just call them and tell them that I am not going to pay the fee and to cancel my card. They put me on hold for a few seconds and get back on and tell me it is waived and thank me for my business. Or like XM/Serius Radio. Same drill every year, but they always back off the price and honor the "special rate" if you tell them you are going to cancel. Amen brother! I hate paying fees.
  6. What is the LOC rate tied to? Prime, libor, treasuries? Read the FINE PRINT. You could be surprised at the rate bump if you are not fully aware of what the rate is based upon AND how often it adjusts. Another issue with LOC is that it is tempting to continue to draw on it without making any headway on paying the balance down. It's one thing if it is a home equity LOC, because in most instances, you can write off the interest for tax purposes. In this case, with it being unsecured, the rate will probably be high with frequent adjustments and that can be dangerous if the temptation to draw on it is there. The loan option will force you to pay it down and at that rate, I would try to put some additional money on the principal monthly to accelerate your payments as long as there are no pre-payment penalties. This will lower the amount of interest you pay in the end and shorten the term of the loan. For instance, if your payment is $175, try to round it up to an even $200. PM me if you have any questions.
  7. Courtyard's are owned by Marriott and Hampton Inn are owned by Hilton. I have a Marriott Visa. They always wave the annual fee and the points are pretty good for free stays and upgrades at Marriott properties. I pay it off monthly, so the rate is irrelevant.
  8. Thanks for sharing Beerball! Hopefully more families may be reunited with those brave servicemen and servicewomen that are currently missing in action.
  9. She could bring me an order of fish sauce wings any time.....now I know why a good buddy of mine from college went to NZ and vows he will never leave!
  10. I have a service do it and can PM the company as they are local for us. I have tried Scott's and their 4 step program and for close to the same price, have had much better results from a lawn service.
  11. I'm with Boyst on this one. My last Honda mower lasted me 15 years and I just replaced it with another. Starts on the first pull and I can alternate between bagging and mulching easily. I got mine on clearance from Lowes last fall.
  12. Since Mead has one year remaining on his "contract" before he moves to the dark side, we may need to invite Whaley to this luncheon. Or we need to move it to Tempo in Buffalo....
  13. Great scuba diving in Galapagos. Certainly on my bucket list. Those bidet's are a wonderful thing....clean as a whistle!
  14. So now I know why we are convening for lunch in a few weeks.....nah, you'd never go to the dark side!
  15. Glad your feeling better CBF! For other posters who are still down hard, down a few shots of brandy or if you are not a big fan of brandy, make yourself a hot toddy (brandy, honey and water). Slather on some Vicks Vapor Rub and go to bed. Every time I have had a bad cold, I follow this course and wake up feeling much better the next day.
  16. Congratulations Plenz! That is fantastic! I just started reading this thread today (not sure how I missed it) and it has been a great read from start to finish. With two boys of my own that are 15 and 13, I can truly appreciate what many others are going through. The stories shared reinforce the fact that I am certainly not alone and that many of you are facing the same trials and tribulations in raising young men and women in a time that is so different from when we were growing up.
  17. What state are you referring to? This is not a standard rule in HS lax. In youth lax, they have a two and three pass rule when a team is up six, but at the HS level, they do not keep the clock rolling. Not to speak for anyone, but a coach should rotate the bench when they are up like this. Doesn't sound like this guy did that and that is shameful on many levels. You see it at collegiate and pro levels when a game is out of hand, they play the backups, which in the big picture is the right thing to do. What if one of the starters got hurt in garbage time, not to mention that a starter may get hurt at some point and a reserve player may be needed to step up.
  18. Cellphones are like crack for some people. It's scary driving nowadays when you see all the @$$&%#S texting/talking on their phones while driving. God forbid that they don't update their Facebook status while commuting, eating breakfast, lunch, dinner, dropping trow, etc. etc. etc.....
  19. Rules are the rules despite the score. However, coach Jefferson should have kept it classy and rotated the bench in the second half. I'm with dib on that Karma thing....
  20. Didn't miss anything. Your probably right that it could have been a checkpoint to catch the runaways, but it seemed like a great deal of firepower devoted to a guy and two girls on the run. Just my opinion, but it seemed like Negan's people were preparing for a larger engagement and maybe these people took off prior to the conflict.
  21. Fantastic episode! RPG > biker gang with serious firepower. Talk about a complete reversal of fortune (whose eating a $@ sandwich now....) Here is my short term story theory: continue to rebuild Alexandria while one of their gatherer groups will make contact with another group similar to their own. A few episodes back, Abraham and Daryl drove through a skirmish line set up by some of Negan's people that did not appear to be set up for them. I believe that Negan's forces were fighting with another group and Abraham/Socha and Daryl came along at the wrong time. They will meet and ally themselves with that group. Long term theory: they will be in Alexandria for several seasons. They will find several other groups that were all drawn to the DC area with the hopes that those in the nations capital have found a cure and ended up setting up their own walled communities on par with Alexandria. These walled communities will be similar to those set up during the medieval times. Some communities will ally themselves with others and barter or trade with each other for goods and services while other groups will simply want to take through force what these communities have.
  22. Great video MV! Dehlia better be ready for some ketchup and mustard in 2019.....
