I don't need your help anymore
Flutie Flakes replied to Captain Caveman's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I tried Bruce, Cornelius, Jim, Thurman, Bryce, Andre and Chris.....no dice. We agreed on Zach. -
Wanted to read the article but the Washington Post blocked it out. I did get options to read about Victoria Secret runway girls and some European Carshow with models so I picked those instead.....

C'mon Gug, you're a Navy guy and you don't know what GFY means???? That is an adverb in Navy speak.... -

Problem is that a deep drafted vessel could have potentially damaged a ship that rests as a memorial to the 1,102 Sailors and Marines that died on December 7, 1941. Thank God it only damaged a dock and not the USS Arizona or the memorial. When your dealing with a 900 foot ship that displaces close to 70,000 tons, another 40 feet is not much and could have been disastrous. The harbor pilots know these waters like the back of their hand and would stay well away from any hazard to navigation. If there was a mechanical issue with one of the tugs, the ship could have drifted into trouble. Happened once and I was on a ship much smaller than a hospital ship and we usually only had one or sometimes two tugs assisting us. Larger ships like carriers, hospital ships or larger auxiliary/merchant ships would usually have a minimum of three or four (two forward and two aft). All it would take is one tug losing power at the wrong place/time and your in the $&(#. -

I got out of the Navy at Pearl. For a ship to get this close to the memorial regardless of size, somebody royally $*#&@ up. There is a wide span around the memorial that is restricted to navigation. Harbor pilot is ultimately responsible and always is a civilian (usually retired Navy/Coast Guard/Merchant Marine). -

Sounds like they need a little help on offense and defense. LOL Believe it or not, the best teams are sound fundamentally and can catch and throw extremely well. If they are not proficient, they must run the ball and the opposing team can key on this guy and force an easy turnover. I will chime in on the defensive side since I played long stick. Work on their slides and play physical. Defense is more about technique (footwork and playing the body) than it is about stick work. Their slides are similar to the footwork used by an offensive tackle. The side line is their friend and they want to force the middie or attackman outside and keep their body between the guy with the ball and the goalie. Also should work on their pokes, slap checks and stick checks. My boy was on a team that was undefeated last year and this year they have only won one game as they lost a lot of talent that moved up. $&*# happens, but above all, tell him to have fun and enjoy the game! Oh yeah, there is a reason why they keep ground ball stats in NCAA play. Ground ball drills (both stationary and moving) are HUGE! -

Required only in girls US lacrosse and also worn by box lacrosse players in Canada that get decked out in full goalie equipment (similar to hockey). Supposedly, shin pads adversely affect speed and movement in US boys/men's LAX and are never worn at high school or collegiate level. My son has played since kindergarten and only played goalie as a sub once and even kids at younger levels rarely wear shin guards. He plays box lacrosse in late fall and early spring which is played on an outdoor hockey style paved court with boards and kids will typically wear more goalie style gear including hockey shin pads. Having been hit by a lacrosse ball before, I don't understand it because it hurts like hell, but then again, kids/adults that play lacrosse goalie are a "very special" breed. -

Was watching highlights last night. Set the single season scoring record at UNC and he is only a sophomore! -

Once lacrosse is done, my calendar opens right up, especially for beer and BBQ!!!! I will also have to do my "checkout ride" with Mead's easy bake oven sometime before TBDAHOT, so a summer tailgate sounds like just the ticket. -

48 goals, top scorer for UNC and you are right about his line at UNC being the best attack group in the country. He is quite a talent. Got to watch him play in high school and knew he would be special. UAlbany needs to make it happen this year! -

GO UAlbany! Beat Cornell like a rented mule and even the goalie got a goal with Blaze going end to end! Like NHL hockey playoffs, I love lax playoffs. Watch Luke Goldstock who played for Niskayuna HS in upstate NY and now plays for UNC. Kid is unbelievable! -
Gugny was befuddled when the bank refused his request
Flutie Flakes replied to Beerball's topic in Off the Wall Archives
This guy came into our bank last week. We gave him the line out of "It's a Wonderful Life" that the money was in Bob Jones' house and Mary Peters' car and that we would need a few days to raise this sort of coin. He said he just needed a little money to purchase more bath salts or some Mister Bubble and walked out never to be seen again..... -

Did you watch many of FSU's games....I watched every one and believe that O'Leary will be a great fit in Roman's offense. Intangibles are why he went 6th round but he will be an upgrade over Gragg and compliment Grey and Clay. -

Read the articles about the accident. The term "walked away" literally meant he got up after the accident on his own power. He DID NOT leave the scene of the accident as he was transported to the hospital for observation. -

Sorry guys! My youngest son has lacrosse tournaments every Saturday in May and June. Enjoy! -
I wonder what the "forensic evidence" was for a case involving stolen beer from a motel that has been closed for several years? Did they get a DNA sample from a spent can of Pabst Blue Ribbon?

Sabres on NBC-NBCSN 5 Times Next Season

Thank the lord!!! Tough to see opposing fans and Sabres fans cheering when the visitors scored. Hopefully we win the lottery and get McDavid, although the consolation prize is not too bad either. -
My afternoon with Rex, Thurman, and Jimbo

I don't have a subscription to SI and the last one I got was one that someone gave me with a picture of Drayton Florence running a Tom Brady interception into the end zone at The Ralph. That one is in a frame in my basement bar. I would definitely grab a copy and frame that one as well! -

Solid "A" in my book. I have not been more excited as I have been this off season in a long time and I am not a "kool aid drinker"....you can ask Mead. Whaley is putting together a team that will be a force. -

Thanks for posting Jay! Can't wait to hear about it at the opener. -
Pressure hold on it's neck. I thought he was going to rip it's head off, but he appeared to choke it out and it's head exploded. Overall, I was not impressed with the season finale. Guy on Talking Dead stated "best ever". Sorry, I didn't think so. Glenn gets shot and has to fight for his life, yet he ends up walking arm in arm with the ASZ guy. Preacher tells Socha to in essence kill herself and at the end, they are in a prayer circle and all is well. Liked how Morgan was re-introduced, just wish he had taken out those two guys and their elaborate trap was pretty cool. Also liked Abraham's statement when the group is meeting. Looking forward to the other series starting this summer.
